Joe did a great job setting up the project and keeping us informed of the process and William was an amazing manager, checking in with his crews and going above and beyond to make sure every detail was to our liking. The crew kept everything clean throughout the project, and the job site was always well taken care of. The whole process was easy from start to finish. The sales process was great, communication was good, and everyone we dealt with was easy to work with. Even the owner stopped by during the project to check in and make sure everything was going well, which I really appreciated. There was one small hiccup where a product hadn't been ordered, but honestly, things happen. What impressed me was how quickly they addressed it. They got it taken care of the very next day without making it a big deal. Overall, we're really happy with how everything turned out and with the experience we had with Cutting Edge Contracting. I'm not sure how this company has 5 star reviews as my experience with J&J Roofing was terrible…read more February 2026, we discovered significant mold in our attic space. Our roof was brand new when we bought it (2019) and to discover ventilation issues inside our attic was a surprise no-one wants. We reached out to multiple roofing companies and we selected J&J Roofing because they promised everything the other companies offered but for about 15% less... or so they claimed. We needed to have an entire reroof which included one layer of plywood to be removed, this is the layer that had the mold. On the quote they said it would cost more IF there were two layers but it was obvious there was only one. Plus the other 4 companies that quoted us said there was only one layer. Also, they almost left the entire layer of molded plywood on. Thankfully my husband was home to catch this serious error which defeated the whole point of why we were reroofing our house in the first place. Then to add insult they tried to charge us at the end for 2 layers. We had to dispute this and they tried to make it seem like they were doing us a favor. Ironically, another roofing company that had quoted us included photos and video which proofed we only had one layer. The quote presented was DECEIVING as when we got the actual bill (after the work was done) it was significantly more than the quote. On some line items it had the tax included, however, they made it seem taxes were included in the quote only to find out that was not that case. This is how they make it seem that they're less than competitors. Here is where the real problems begin. Day of demo the team arrives and are extremely quick about tearing our roof off. However their speed caused A LOT OF DAMAGE. When they tore off the fascia it ripped the underside of the exterior under hangs. See pics. In addition they left significant gaps from the fascia they replaced which is an invitation for bugs and small animals to get inside. An issue we didn't have before. On demo day I watched them cause this damage and although we were told we would have a project manager onsite during the reroof this was not true. The PM was 90% of the time NOT on site. In addition when he came and had the fascia boards they were a cream color. They were supposed to be white. To my face this man lied to me and said they don't come in white. I rushed and got my paint sprayer while my husband ran and got white exterior paint. We quickly got the fascia boards painted and thankfully it was a clear sunny day so it was dried in time for the crew to put up. We also noticed when the roof was off that some of the boards framing our roof were rotted. I asked a crew member as the PM wasn't there if they were going to replace them and they told me yes. Another lie. As they started putting the plywood on, my husband and I noticed the rotted wood was still there and that they "sister-boarded" a new piece of cut wood. I had to call the manager Courtney to come as at this point, my confidence in the crew was gone. They left broken screens and a bunch of nails and screws all around our property. In addition to garbage from the roof packaging. Lastly the PM never came when the work was done to identify areas that needed to be fixed. See pics. We had to call J&J to get someone out and look at all the poor workmanship their crew left. Then they tried to make it seem like it was like that before but it was obvious the damage was caused by their crew. I regret choosing J&J and do not recommend.

They were having a February special which enabled us to get $1,000 off and we jumped on that deal. With the $1,000 savings we were able to get the upgraded roof option that received fantastic reviews online. Working with Courtney at the office to get us scheduled was a breeze. She asked what color roof we wanted, and since it was difficult to make that decision just by looking a photos, Brandon came back out with a couple of color samples that day so we could see what they looked like up against our house. The J&J crew came out the following Friday morning and completed our roof in ONE DAY. Granted, our roof was probably more simplistic than some others, but we were blown away by how quickly they completed it, and they did a fantastic job. Our new roof looks wonderful! Before they started working, they covered everything that was close to the roof, and they cleaned up impeccably before they left. I was thrilled to have found a woman-owned roofing company that had such fabulous reviews on Yelp, and I'm happy to add one more. I highly recommend J&J Roofing if you need a roof replacement.

I have been a professional tradesperson for 50 years. I was recently hired by a client to…read morerepresent them in remedying the defective work performed by Catalyst Construction. The quality of their work, their construction knowledge and professionalism are nothing short of ABYSMAL. I contacted Ryan Klobas (the owner) with regards to his defective and delinquent work. I threated to contact the Builders Board to motivate him to show up. His response? He said that "PEOPLE ALWAYS TRY TO TAKE HIM TO THE BUILDERS BOARD, BUT IT NEVER WORKS," and then promptly contacted his attorney (who sent us a patronizing letter) instead of showing up to the job site (something he NEVER did) to remedy the situation. He bullied my female client (a mother of an infant). HE TOOK 14 MONTHS TO INSTALL 2 WINDOWS! It wasn't until I began proceedings with the CCB that Ryan finally agreed to complete (or attempt to) complete the project. I had to dry plans on his behalf (he did not seem to know how) to show him how to do a simple window installation. I specified the use of proper materials, as he had not educated himself on this common trade knowledge. I forced him to get permits and engineering for the structural damage he had done to the residence. He lied to my client, telling them that permits were "optional." HE USES A CHAINSAW AND A SLEDGEHAMMER (literally) to cut ROUGH openings into structural concrete walls. He installed his windows exactly backwards. He dug huge holes in the yard, leaving them all winter to fill up with water, which migrated into the house. He does not know how to caulk properly. He used finger-jointed (garbage) lumber, which disintegrated in 2 months time. There is not one aspect of construction, neither in the use of materials or in standard construction orthodoxy, that Ryan knows how to implement. He makes things and systems up in his head, uses materials against their intended purposes, then writes a letter telling my client that he is "innovative" by doing so, and that my client is "crazy" for suggesting otherwise. All of Ryans' employees who visited the site, refer to Ryan as "an idiot" and "a bully." One employee told me that he gotten abused by Ryan because Ryan hadn't given him the plans (which we provided) for the project. Ryan told his employee that he should "LIE TO THE CLIENT TO PROTECT THE COMPANY." Every one of his employees who attempted doing their mis-guided work on my client's house, ended up quitting, because of the way Ryan mistreated them and his clients. I am not sure where the positive reviews have come from, but I suspect they are fake. My female client was literally afraid for her safety. She experienced Ryan as DANGEROUS. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY.

This review is tough, being a decade long yelper myself, I try to set aside emotion. I cannot give…read moremore than 5 stars, and I would like to leave 50 for Capital Builders. To tell the whole story, would leave you reading a small novel. I will try to avoid that. Long story short. A contractor we hired to build an ADU on our property for my mother ended up being a scam artist. When we contacted David (Capital Builders), we were very cautious. David stepped and looked at a job that seemed impossible. Everything built by the former contractor had been done to scam money. David was informed of this. David, basically, came to the rescue. There were many factors, and any professional contractor may have looked at the project and ran. Capital Builders did not. This was not only a repair of work poorly done by the former contractor, but also continued work to complete. David did everything. We were on a budget and he took his personal time to help us DYI some things ourselves. David went through the fires of hell on our project. Professional, compassionate to our situation, flexible, quality work and repair of work that was unstable from the former contractor all exceeded what anyone could ask for. We had a complicated situation and David did not give up. All meetings were on time, all costs were explained and easy to understand. It was plain to see that he took personal time, often, to think about how he could improve everything he could for us. He took personal time to help us understand what we could do ourselves as well. We went from hopeless to my mother finally having a home. So, this review, as far as services, quality and professionalism is 5/5 yelp style. This review personally is 50/5. Capital Builders changed our lives for the better, yes, for real. I could not and will not recommend a contractor higher. Also, David is a genuine gentleman that knows his craft. He is the type of contractor that if someone can't do the job, he will get out there and do it himself, even on a day off. I would be surprised if he ever did take a day off. To note, the project was so complicated it took almost two years (that was on our part for causing delays). He was extremely accommodating and always stayed in touch and followed up. If you consider them, please do so because they do good work (solid work, no flimsy fix it cheap quick stuff). Good work comes with a good leader. He will not let you down. Check out Google. You can see for yourselves. His reviews speak loudly and proudly. All, very well deserved. If Capital Builders is unable to do your job, they will tell you straightforward. If they can do your job, I would swear on my life at this point, they will do it to 100% with excellence.

David was sensitive to how he communicated bad news to us as he kept us informed.  Since the scope of the work was unknown, David charged man-hours instead of a flat rate which made sense due to the nature of this job. It was very difficult, though, not knowing until the end of the job what the total cost was, which, while it was higher than expected, was totally fair due to the top notch quality of work and attention to detail.  Since man-hours were charged, updates to follow the costs would have better prepared us to know what to expect for the final invoice. David took pictures to share all the damage with us as he found it since we weren't there during the day, so we could stay informed. David's transparency and honesty was very refreshing. Because of his transparency, we completely trusted David and his crew with all the work that they did.  He patiently explained anything we didn't understand, spelled out where our money was going and gave us choices to keep our costs down. He communicated in a timely manner answering emails when we had questions. We found it worked best to get answers to our questions by keeping emails short and asking a direct question in the email title. There were a few extra things done free of charge for us which we were extremely grateful for.  One project in particular went way above and beyond what either of us expected, but they saw it through to the end without hesitation or taking any compensation. David and his crew take pride in their work and it shows. Miguel's dedication to his work and the quality of his work were admirable. Besides this huge month long job David did for us, we also hired him for two smaller jobs. In the course of one of those jobs, more damage was found on the front of our house, which David shared with us through pictures, that we also had him repair.  This damage would not have been discovered if Miguel had not found it as he was caulking the rest of our house. I know repairing this damage now will save us from extensive damage in the future. At times, we were offered the possibility of Saturday work being done, which we agreed to. He has since re-sided the remainder of our house and it looks great! We had a hiccup with determining window trim that would work aesthetically for us and meet the builder's requirement to prevent future damage, but after much consideration and a lot of thinking outside the box, a solution was found.  David sticks to his principles to ensure he can do the best quality work that will stand the test of time. I highly recommend David and his crew for repairs or any home projects or improvements!
