Came here with a groupon. Made an appointment online (i would suggest calling because you have to make an account to make an appointment online). She helped me right on time, with a smile. She's very friendly and easy to talk to, but also I didn't feel pressured to talk to her the whole time which I think is key to being a good hairstylist! She's really funny, chill, and down to earth. Andromeda is fabulous. I was nervous to go as light as she recommended (a very pretty blonde sombre) but I was so happy with the results once we finished. The perfect summer hair, and cut to boot! I absolutely love the color and bleach products that she uses- this is the first time I have ever had my hair colored or processed without any of those toxic fumes! I'm not exactly sure what the product is that she uses, but I know its organic and it does significantly less damage to your hair, than traditional processing products! Originally purchased a Groupon for a women's haircut. I was excited to try this place especially after reading all the great reviews. I was wanting to get my long hair trimmed and have more layers added. Booking was easy peasy and Andromeda had a great selection of times (on the weekends which is a plus) on such short notice. I had such a hard time finding an appointment time with so many other hairstylists in the city...more than 3 weeks wait! We talked through what I wanted done to my hair before anything happened. Not to mention, awesome scalp massage before hair washing and cut! Had a good conversation and laughs with her while having my hair cut -- makes for a better connection and service. She was nice enough to curl my hair after the cut and it looked amazing. The next morning after I took a shower I had noticed that my layers were not even, which was okay because we all make mistakes. I was really impressed and happy with how she handled it. I made a last minute decision to get a haircut before I was to go on vacation. I had a lot of dead ends that I wanted to get rid of and I wanted someplace that was close to my job. I found her thru Groupon website and was able to book an appointment that same day! After we introduced ourselves, I immediately felt at ease with her and felt like I had known her for so long. She started off by letting me smell different oils to choose from for the scalp massage. It was very relaxing. She washed, toweled off then started to cut my hair. I wanted to keep the length the same and just cut off 1.5 inches. She did a fast job on styling and curling my hair because I told her I had to get back to work. Got a groupon deal online and booked right away. She had a lot of times available that was accommodating to my schedule. When i came in she asked me what i wanted. I advised a trim. She started with a head massage with essential oils, shampoo, cut and styling. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the trim was in fact a trim. Last time i asked for a trim at another salon they cut my long hair to the top of my shoulders :(. Im glad Andromeda listened to what i wanted. Andromeda saved my wedding day. I was an idiot an took a pretty bad fall less than 2-weeks before my wedding that required an ER visit and 5-stitches to the top of my forehead/hairline. Lost a good chunk of hair too. My fiancé and I reached out to many makeup artists who would ask for a pic and then ghost us. If we were lucky, we got a response back saying they were not qualified to do that big of a makeup cover up. When we finally got someone willing to take on the challenge, he had to cancel a few days prior to the wedding due to another commitment, but he contacted his friend Andromeda and luckily she was available and up for the challenge. Andromeda was great at responding to our texts, and made my day even easier by coming to my condo the day of the wedding. She arrived promptly and quickly reassured me that she would be able to cover up by what that time was a nasty looking "hole" in my head as well as 3-4 inches of scar. Then, she trimmed my hair and styled it to where the hole/scar were no longer visible. Everyone at the wedding agreed that the makeup job was incredible. andromeda is so sweet and she did SUCH a great job on my hair. i purchased a groupon a few days ago and booked an appointment the day before i wanted an appointment. the only difficult part was finding the place, you think 19th st and castro should be obvious enough right? it took me about 10 minutes to realize where it was. its on the same side of 19th as the coffee shop on the corner, and about 3 doors down. it says "haircutters" on a sign out front with a male name on it, but andromeda has a room in this same salon. after meeting her she let me smell all of her essential oils and choose one to use for a head massage! i'd never had a hairstylist do this before, and at first i was reluctant but it was such a great way to start off a haircut, i was so relaxed after. the scalp massage and shampoo/conditioning were so pain-free and relaxing, i usually hate this part of going to a salon. the entire haircut took a little over an hour. i asked for a trim, face-shaping layers, and an undercut (shave nape of my neck to under my ears) and she happily obliged. that was literally all the direction i gave her, and she made the outcome so much better than i had originally envisioned! she didn't ask any more questions or seem unsure about anything which i always look for in a stylist. the end result was amazing! ive never had no complaints about a haircut until today (: read more
