They worked long hours to put us out of our misery and leave our downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms looking (and smelling) like new . When it came time to fix our leaking roof terrace, I of course called Joe, and he did a great job. His prices are reasonable, and I intend to use him for all our future construction work. Hopefully it won't involve another sewage flood.

The first was to rescue us from a half-finished bathroom remodel where the original contractor abandoned the project half way through. We could find no other contractor that would touch the project, because you never know the quality of the work already done, and you are kind of assuming responsibility for it. Joe stepped in, fixed some things the previous contractor had screwed up, and finished the bathroom just in time for us to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family visiting. The second time was similar. We had a water line break and it damaged the entire bathroom in the master bedroom. We were displaced from our bedroom and the house was hazardous. Joe was already booked with other projects, but was able to rearrange some of his staff and was able to start fixing the house that very day. Three weeks later, we had a beautiful bathroom. We hadn't anticipated doing another bathroom remodel, and certainly hadn't budgeted for it. Joe's price was very fair, considering the emergency nature of the project and the fact that he had to have people on overtime to help complete the job. I highly recommend JM Construction. They are life savers.

From the walk through process, to the bidding process, to the signing...it was seamless. We have never worked with a builder like this. The entire process was super professional from beginning to end. The communication was top notch and every sub that came through was kind, polite, and did the job very well. It is rare to go through such a large remodel and to not have issues pop up....but we didn't have ONE. They showed up when they said they would, they got in touch with us immediately with any issues or questions, and things were resolved on the spot. Our designer, Cody, was fabulous. She "got" my vision from the very beginning. When she did her presentation to show us the colors and design she had come up with, it was as if she saw into my head....she's amazing. She nailed it. Our project manager, Brian, was fantastic...we don't have one complaint. And bonus...they told us approximately five months to do the remodel from beginning to end...and they finished two days before the five month mark. Unheard of in this industry. We will never use another builder, it will always be SCGB for us. We are absolutely thrilled with our remodel, and the quality of work....I cannot sing their praises highly enough. If you are looking for a builder...look no further. This is THE company you want.

Great communication skills (updates by email) consistent and reliable (always showed up on time) and did a wonderful remodel on our kitchen in our old Craftsman cottage on the westside. We recommend these builders- and Kim in particular- very highly. Would use them again in a heartbeat!!

Rapid Remediation And Restoration - Mud Room

    Rapid Remediation And Restoration

What do you do when your cat turns on the bidet upstairs at 1 am on a stormy winter night? Well,…read moreyou wake up at 2 am to a flooded bathroom and hallway, a flooded den below the bathroom, and a flooded laundry room adjacent to the den. At least it was fresh water instead of a poopy mess. In a bathroom flood, you find the good things where you can. But it still really was an awful thing to deal with. After an initial group did the immediate remediation, and the insurance company finally got back to us, Rapid Remediation and Restoration helped us get the house back into shape. Stephen and the team helped evaluate the damage and recommend repairs. They were super responsive and highly knowledgeable. His group has been working together for years and has a great rapport with their clients. They could handle all aspects of the project with great skill. I appreciate their presence and responsiveness. They are also some of the kindest people you'll meet. They made the process less painful than it already was. We had them do the following projects: Project 1 - Backyard cement repair. We had a source of water leakage on the "high side" of our foundation unrelated to the bidet incident, but with the heavy rain, we got some water in our basement through the foundation. The cement on the side of the house was demolished and then redone to flow the water away from the house's foundation. Project 2 - Flooded den repair and improvement. It was a big lift. First, they removed all the affected drywall (ceiling and walls) and treated the wood and underlying structures for any water damage. They evaluated the impact on the bathroom subfloor through the demoed ceiling. They assessed the window structures for any additional damage since we had noticed some leaking with the recent storms. They did a gorgeous repair of the wall that was partly exposed foundation and repaired the window sealant and stucco. They installed new ceiling lights and luxury vinyl plank over the tile floor (we had some for another project on hand). I work from that room and need it dialed. Project 3 - Flooded laundry repair. Another big lift. Demoed, treated, and repaired the drywall. They leveled the floor and fixed the small causeway between the den and the laundry room so the flooring from the den repair was consistent and level. I put a picture here, and we had it painted yellow on purpose. No judgment about the color! It is so lovely to have a happy and sunny room doing laundry. It was white before - just cold and industrial. Blech. Project 4 - Bathroom upgrade. The coup de grâce. Since the flooring had to go and the bathroom was quite dated, it was on the shortlist for home improvements before the cat-bidet incident, so we just said, f-it, let's do it! Since the decision to do the bathroom was not in the original plan, we had to work under time constraints and source all available items quickly through local hardware stores. Even though almost everything was updated, the bathroom highlights were installing a pocket door and changing the second-floor window to fit in such a tricky-sized room. PSA - if you are dealing with water damage, be prepared to make many decisions quickly. Do your research and have candid conversations with your remediation team. And for goodness sake, keep the bathroom door closed so your cat doesn't hit up the bidet bar after hours. RIP Sandy. And I didn't have a "before" picture of the bathroom, but imagine a 1976 bathroom that still needed to be updated--beige and well-used.

From our first interaction - Jared was "people first". He cared about our family's needs, spent a great deal of time evaluating our complex options - and was the first to state when he felt something was beyond his scope, expertise, or bandwidth (spoiler alert: nothing is :) Though the entire process , Jared maintained his professional demeanor as our strategy shifted through various curveballs: changing market conditions, rebuilding vs selling, and working through various needs of our insurance provider. He also employs top-notch technology. As work commenced, I was able to stay on top of the day's activities through a digital log - complete with pictures, reports, and project details. The entire time I felt so "connected" to the build, and his team always delivered when they said they would. Please consider Jared to your interview panel, he'll deservedly earn your business.

Justin, the foreman is as precise as a Swiss clock. He kept me informed about everything without me worrying about anything. If I texted him a question, he would respond immediately. Vit is a genius, he can walk around and juggle the numbers in his sleep, he made some awesome recommendations when we were not sure, he is incredibly knowledgeable.
