If you're looking for a dentist that does terrible work and overcharges you, then this is your guy. Over the 2 yrs I went to him - two of the fillings he did fell out, and needed to be replaced, he blamed me and said it was the way I chewed...sigh He left gaps under the crowns that catch food and cause bleeding. He overcharged by 50% for crowns - my inusrance says a crown should cost $500 - he charges $750 a crown (and he wants to crown everything instead of filling it - I had to argue with him to get him to do a filling) And if that isn't bad enough he is a condescending, egotistical #@#@. Run, don't walk away from him. Ask him why he changed his Korean name to an English sounding one! read more

Dr. John and his crew, are amazing. I can't express my gratitude without sounding like a paid employee. Dr. John and his EA Susan are really amazing. Susan's great at getting approval plus she is overall the sweetest person, anyone that meets her, can immediately tell she's caring, ethical and full of integrity. She's incapable of being dishonest. Dr. John strategically looks at your Xrays to find what is most critica to fix first and what can hold off if your broke like most the population. I've been at his office until 8pm purely based on Dr. John wasn't pleased with my cap that came back from wherever it was made and my receding gums made it difficult to attach. He came up with a solution that was brilliant that other dentist would have sent me to a dental surgeon. He's quite capable and a 1stop dentist. This dentist is extremely unprofessional, condescending and lacking basic communication skills. It is unfortunate because members of his staff are warm, kind and excellent at what they do. My entire family has seen Dr. John for over a year. He's replaced a crown for me and completed multiple cleanings for myself, my husband and my son. I came in which extreme dental plan a couple of weeks ago and he explained this was due to grinding my teeth and night and recommended I purchase a $350 night guard. Of course I followed his recommendations and made the purchase right away. I did explain that I had a fear of getting the dental impressions, combined with struggling through a terrible cold and having difficulty breathing out of my nose. The staff reassured me that the woman doing the impressions was quite experienced. However a different, new staff member ended up doing the impressions. She put an excessive amount of the material in which caused me to choke and then twice removed the impression while it was not completely dry and placed the molding incorrectly. Basically it was clear she did not know what she she was doing so the dentist finally ended up doing them himself. I voiced my disappointment regarding needing to do the impressions multiple times. I then came back to pick up the night guard and the fit felt very off. Again I calmly voiced this and the dentist responded rudely, literally laughing at me. I then come in today for my 4 year old son's cleaning and was informed a letter had been sent to an old address dismissing my entire family from the practice and my 4 year old would not be seen today. Since I never received the letter, I asked for a copy. It stated I 'don't trust or value his diagnosis,' which could not be further from the truth since I purchased the night guard. Considering they sent the letter 4 days ago, I questioned why they simply could not call to confirm that I at least knew not to bring my son today, who had been looking forward to seeing the dentist and getting a prize for months (I know it's weird but he loves/loved the dentist!). I requested to speak with Dr. John to openly communicate and see if we could find a resolution, but I was denied. I have never heard of such practices. I don't post many reviews especially of this length but I felt it was important that others know of this situation so they can avoid such a terrible experience. I'm now stuck with a $350 device that is unwearable and a disappointed child who needs a new dentist. read more

Terrible costing tactics! Beware! As a patient covered under delta dental, Dr John's office wants to charge me hundreds more than my patient co-pay. When I inquired further about this, the office said that "it's Dr. John's office and he can charge whatever he wants to". Not very professional and very unethical! read more

Dr. John sees his patients as dollar signs. He told me i needed 7 teeth filled which i thought ridiculous so i got a second opinion. That dentist said my teeth were fine! 0 teeth filled after a year of going to my new dentist. I came to this dentist seven months ago after reading the good reviews; unfortunately, I do not think it is as amazing as these reviews say. I came in for a routine check up and everything seemed very rushed. I had a couple x-rays done and then 10 minutes later the dentist came and took a look at my x-rays and looked in my mouth. He did not ask me any questions or seem to care about my medical history at all. He told me that I did not have any cavities but that I did have really terrible gingivitis. He said that I have really deep pockets that were mostly a level 6 and anything above a 4 is serious. I don't mess around with my health so normally anytime a doctor recommend something I follow their recommendations but I just didn't feel right by what this dentist was telling me. He told me that I needed to get a very deep cleaning done and in order to do it I would have to be numb because if I was not numb it was going to hurt too bad. I have never had to be numb to get a cleaning, who has ever heard of that before? He wanted to schedule me to come in once to do the right side of my mouth and the second time to do the left side of my mouth and my cost share that insurance wouldn't pay for was going to be $120 each time. I felt uneasy about the whole thing so I did not schedule another appointment. I went to another dentist who did x-rays and checked my mouth and he said I had 1,2s, and 3s Nothing over 3 so how did this dentist tell me I had all 4,5 and 6s? The other dentist did a routine cleaning and that was that. I hesitated writing my review earlier because I don't want to sound like I'm just upset that I have bad dental health I know now from a second opinion that I do not have gingivitis, my teeth/mouth are fine and I should not be scammed. I have been a patient of Dr. John since he took over this practice from the retiring and excellent Dr. Grabowsky. Dr. Grabowsky hand picked Dr. John as his successor to take care of the many patients that had come to know and expect excellent care. Dr. John is a caring and great technical dentist who has performed several crowns for me and also takes care of one of my children. The crowns are perfect. Incredibly thorough. I have had many crowns and frontal bridges. I have even worked for a dentist in the front office. I have never known a dentist whose prep for these procedures was so precise. His margins are excellent! His staff is very welcoming. I would definitely recommend Dr John! Only wish I had discovered him sooner. read more

This guy is a shyster he gave me a root canal a year and a half ago didn't know how to numb it was drilling into the raw nerve didn't complete the root canal and at the time he didn't even issue me any antibiotics because there was an infection present he said year and a half later I had to get the root canal completed buy another dentist which it then broke and I had to have the tooth removed due to the mistreatment of the incomplete root canal and the infection that continued it was never addressed this guy also it's change his name from a Korean name to his current name so has he been sued before malpractice pretty bad and actually the counter service is okay but when you're in the room the three times I've been in there he just sits like a little school girl and talks to the other nurses and just completely ignores patients don't go find another dentist plus they say they're a network with United Dental which they're not then it cost you more money read more
