We selected one product with Arnold, but Octavian let us know that another type would be available sooner but was a little pricier. We went with that option and had turf installed within EIGHT days of the estimate. Guys who came out were really helpful and efficient. I had approximately 1500sf of turf installed about 3.5-4 years ago, in the summer of 2021. We were…read morevery pleased with the results. Chad was excellent to work with at that time....very motivated to get the job completed. After that amount of time some maintenance was needed. I contacted Chad on February 13, 2025, two months prior to my daughter's bridal shower which was April 13, 2025 asking for some maintenance, ie, fresh crushed granite along the fence perimeter, replacement of a couple of cracked pavers and some fill in of areas of erosion. I emailed, texted and spoke to Chad about 6-7 times. I sent videos and photos detailing the work needed. I was met with 2 months of empty promises and 2 no show appointments. The first no show was due to weather the days prior to my appointment. He never reached out to say they were running behind and wouldn't be coming that day after we pretty much waited around all day in expectation of their arrival. I texted him to find out if they were still coming and was met with a promise of a second appointment which they just apparently ignored. I have yet to hear anything from Chad after that no show appointment. One week before my event I contacted a second company who were quick to respond and help. They corrected the erosion issues (installing bender board which was not done with the initial install), leveled uneven pavers and replaced the cracked ones. They pulled up the turf and added material to level out the erosion issues from the initial install and replenished the crushed granite along the fence perimeter. It looks great! I have recommended Houston Fake Grass on a few occasions since I was pleased with my install. I will not be recommending Chad and Houston Fake Grass in the future. Communication and performance were good with the initial install but I felt like he didn't want to be bothered with a maintenance job and was just hoping I would go away and leave him to all of this new projects. I guess his business is so good that he doesn't need me to promote or refer. So I won't.

I called Hunter and Carter answered the phone. He gave me a quote for $1,050 and I did not bargain, just ask that he warranty the work in the areas that they worked on (2/11/26). He promised and told me to call him if the same areas got slopped down. But he said just text him, don't call the office because he doesn't want to get in trouble ?! On 2/16/26, after the rain, the areas got soft and slopped again. I texted him and he said he's on assignment and will follow up later. I since called, texted few times and no response from him or anybody at MT.

James (the owner) is NOT trustworthy and will make NUMEROUS promises which he has NO intention of keeping. After neary 5 months of being strung along and after MANY no shows and excuses - I am coming here to warn others. See below for the story if you want more info. The original job was done in Aug 2023 and was done on time and looked great. The price was less expensive than the other bids and the warranty which came with the install sealed the deal. Good customer service from James- at the time. The install took a few days with minor hiccups but overall things went well. Every so often we would find a weed pop up through the rock and turf. We were able to manage and pull about a dozen "sprouts" every week or so. Not a big deal. After a while, it started to become unmanageable and we opted to spray the weeds with weed killer. But, about a year or so later, it was apparent the weed barrier is not holding up. There were weeds everywhere. It looked like we had grass where the rock was installed. It was crazy. I reached out to James in April 2025 via email about the failed weed barrier and there was no response. I remembered that I had his telephone number so I contacted him to please have someone come out. After 2 no shows he finally had someone come out and he let me know the weed barrier did -INDEED- fail and he would have someone come out to remove and lay a thicker, commercial weed barrier which should fix the problem. That was in May. After another no show, he finally sent out one lone soul to tackle a job for at least 2 people. The poor guy had to pull weeds, shovel rock and lay a new weed barrier. He did not get 10 feet in 4 hours or so in the blistering Texas heat. He said he would be back the next week to continue. Leaving his equipment and the rock pulled back with the new weed barrier exposed. No one showed the next week. Weeks went by and new seedlings were growing through the NEWLY laid weed barrier. Let me add that I was speaking to James on the telephone quite often (during this time) who was constantly trying to "educate me" on the invasiveness of weeds and how the can "get under the weed barrier segments (which have an overlay of at least 6 inches) and travel and plant themselves in the dirt and spread to the surrounding area - under the weed fabric. OK! Then he tried to blame the crazy overgrowth on the neighbors -who carelessly "spread their grass seed all the way to my side of the fence" further adding to the problem. I should not forget that the grassy field behind my home likely spread it's grass spore to my area. OK! None of which would make a difference if -the weed barrier held up. So after numerous more no shows, I finally get 2 more guys to come out and do another 6 or so hours of work. They worked in a different area and laid 2 layers of weed barrier! They were able to get about 15% of the work done. After many conversations, and James reaching out to his past employee for guidance, he opted to come out guns a blazin' with some strong chemical to kill the weeds around the first week of June. He was worried about the strength of weed killer and what it could do with to puppy. He noted to keep her off the area for up to 72 hours. We agreed and he came out to spray the area. That was the last time we had someone come out and that was over 2 months ago. My wife thought I was crazy to give him so many chances - he did truly seem to want to help. We returned from a trip abroad after the 4th of July and he basically ghosted us. No follow ups, no more scheduled appointments with no shows, nothing. I texted him to see if we can get on the schedule and nothing. I sent him a final text on 8/15/25 and he said he would get me on the schedule for next week. I said he would have someone out on Wednesday 8/20/25. I knew he was full of it bc when he puts me on the schedule I would get a text message. I got a text message twice in the past and these were the 2 occasions when someone actually showed up.. He is a snake oil salesman at best. Steer clear and go with another company who will actually provide you a warranty. This is not one.
