She and I were talking and I decided to jump in and order something. Margaret is amazing and we discussed several products. I called up and spoke to a colleague of hers and got stellar service despite that I wasn't just a random customer. I got samples of a couple of products to test drive and I know I will order at least 2 more things (another great lip color and this killer MAC eye cream.). Margaret kept me in the *where is my package/Shipping loop since I live on the West Coast and this counter is on the East coast. It took a while to get here but that was ok. When I got the package I was very pleased at the way it was packaged and it came intact with no leaks, melting or broken products. I love that I have found a way to buy MAC again. As usual with Dominican salons, it looked really shabby (I almost turned around in the parking lot) and when they answered the phone they sounded bored, but they took great care of my hair. I did the keratin treatment, best price I've found in town here, and noticed they use a top quality keratin brand. They used top-European brand shampoo, conditioner, and serum on my hair as well. They were great at little things white and black salons miss on my type of hair like the type of combs and method of combing for minimal breakage. All in all I have officially found a regular salon in Athens. If you have ethnic or hard to manage hair and excellent skill will override the salon's shabby outer appearance, then I highly recommend this place.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Sephora location in Athens this morning. From the…read moremoment I walked in, I was not greeted or acknowledged by any staff. I spent time in the fragrance section, which is located right next to the register, yet the cashier did not greet me or offer any assistance. I waited over five minutes for help just to access a perfume, while noticing that other customers who entered the store were greeted and offered assistance right away. The inconsistency in customer service was both noticeable and frustrating. At checkout, the cashier incorrectly stated that someone had assisted me. I politely corrected her and let her know that no one had greeted or helped me. After that, her attitude noticeably changed and became unprofessional. I only visited this location because I was in town, but based on this experience, I will not be returning to the Athens store. Customer service should be consistent, welcoming, and respectful to everyone, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
