I was looking for a new optometrist after I aged out of my parent's eye insurance. I checked out…read morethe deals at a few of the chain places near the mall, but all of the reviews scared me away. Then, I saw Luttrell's, checked out the reviews, and decided to give it a go. I am very glad I made this decision. I was initially a little worried about the place being too expensive for me, but it was affordable and thorough. I had a great experience. I had never worn contacts before, and I really wanted to give them a try. The optometrist and the staff here were great. I didn't have to wait past my appointment time. The exam was thorough, the physician friendly and knowledgable, and the staff were patient and kind. Everyone I spoke to was happy to answer my many questions such as: based on my records, how fast are my eyes changing? how much would it be for the exam and contacts versus the exam, contacts, and this pair of glasses? What about with this pair of glasses? Plus many, many more. (I had a lot of first-timer contacts questions.) I've found my new optometrist. I am very happy working with the staff here for my orders and they make me feel comfortable talking about options and price (I'm on a graduate student budget).

I can't recommend Luttrell's enough! Very knowledgeable and customer service is A+. When I say…read more"customer service" I'm not just referring to the fitting and sales...their customer service extends beyond that (when you need them the most). Need an adjustment? No problem. Need a little repair? No problem. Every time I have stopped by they have treated me as if I'm in to buy my first pair... and have taken care of any issue on the spot. That's rare these days and it's truly what separates them from your "buy 2 for $99" franchise type stores. Would never buy my glasses anywhere else.

Great customer service! I came here on a weekday evening and was hoping to leave with a purchase…read morebut did not..They required a prescription! I told them I didn't need a prescription because I have 20-10 vision but I was rejected and needed a prescription stating I don't need a prescription. I was not a happy camper but the following day, my eye doctor faxed me proof that I didn't need a prescription. I used my own frames and purchased the blue light lenses. For purchasing just lenses, you will receive 20% off. If you purchase frames, you get 40% off lenses. After making the purchase, I was debating if I should've bought frames. Paying $279 for just lenses felt extremely pricey. So the following day, in the morning, I called to cancel my purchase and repurchase with frames. I told them which frame I wanted from searching their website but they didn't have it in stores. Sad. They were extremely helpful though and searched if it could be shipped. Nope. She then helped me search for other similar pairs within my price range and she recommended pretty good options! The overall process is in store was quite fast too. No wait time! Also, if you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund!

Hello I just wanted to complement your store associate named Baylor at the store on Washington pike…read morein Knoxville Tennessee. He was able to help me with my concerns on some glasses I needed to return and he answered my questions as to the better lens and questions with my insurance. I ultimately returned the original frames with lens that I purchased for the better lens to go into my older frames. It really meant allot to me that he went the extra mile to help me understand what my choices were. Baylor was a wonderful representative for your company and I just wanted him to get the credit he so deserved. Please thank him for me for all his kindness and help!

But....all that is irrelevant when you look at the purpose of the visit. Had an appointment with Dr M. After 45 mins in the waiting room, a Tech engaged and he covered the routine measurements, and then moved me in the exam room. Here he collected the additional routine, background info (5 more mins). And then I waited...for another 20 mins with no dr to show for. About 70 mins past my appointment time I walked out to the front desk and asked to pay what I owed, and to cancel the appointment. Dr. M came to the front escorting another patient. Front desk girls explained to her why I was in the front , and without any other explanation, or any other glance towards me, told them that I don't owe them any payment. And Dr M walked away in the back again without a second look. I would have much rather pay for a much needed appointment than wasting 70 mins waiting for a doctor. I was looking forward to this appointment after seeing all the 5* reviews. But now I saw that most of them are older than 2 years; maybe this office started focusing more on the business and lost track of caring for the patients.

Here, they provide an option of having a photo taken of eyes instead of dilation (at an extra cost). This was a welcomed alternative and saved us all a lot of time and tears, too. As someone who has never worn glasses, Dr. Best explained to me what she was doing and why, and answered any questions I had without a lot of medical jargon that would make me scratch my head in confusion. After the eye photos, she even had my son come over to look at the pics and ask her questions. He thought that was super cool. He (shockingly) told me as we left, "That was pretty fun, Mommy!" Whatttt?! We were seen very quickly and the appointment only lasted about 30 minutes, including picking out and purchasing new frames. Speaking of, there was a pretty big selection of youth frames, which was refreshing. They were all fairly affordable (most under $150) and ended up being fully covered by our insurance. Thrilled to have found this office, with high-tech exams, and highly empathetic staff.
