After our insurance company came back with a very low bid and wanted to do a patch instead of re-roofing, our job supervisor, Justin, and the company owner, John, came out in person and took numerous photos and wrote a detailed report that convinced our insurance company to approve a full re-roof. Five Star was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They are responsive, professional, and hard working. I highly recommend this company!

Five Star Posted Just a horrible experience. Please look at…read morethe 1 and 2 star reviews. The vast majority of those other experiences align VERY closely with mine. Read those reviews before you decide on Five Star. I wish I had. On to the horror story... I wanted both powered fans (I already owned these) and also ridge vent in case of a power outage. They installed the fans but no ridge vent. They also didn't refund me or my insurance when they hauled off all that unused ridge vent. The fans aren't even installed properly because they're partially covered by plywood and 2x4s. Why would they even install it there? See picture. They pounded the drip edge on so hard that it dented the fascia and left a black spot. They left tire marks in my driveway and nails that I'm still picking up 3 months later. They screwed up my kitchen lights by dropping stuff into my attic and damaging the cans. See picture. On about May 7 (only a couple days after installation), I called to tell Robert about these issues and he said he'd have it fixed. He didn't. On May 17, I texted Robert for a wind mitigation recommendation AND I thought it would jog his memory about the driveway and drip edge. No response. Five Star called demanding payment and I said the job wasn't done. She told me she'd get someone on it. She didn't. Time passed and some snotty rude manager named Justin Ely called demanding payment a week or so later. I said the job wasn't done. He must have contacted Robert for details because a FULL MONTH LATER, Robert finally responded to that May 17 text on June 18. We'll get there soon. After listening to Justinand his condescending nonsense, I wanted to be done with these people and their incompetence, poor communication, awful follow-up, horrendous accounting, greedy attitude, the damage, and simple misunderstandings being blown completely out of proportion. To avoid Justin, I told Robert in the attached text that I was very unhappy and offered to handle everything myself if he'd just take off $1500 from this $30,000 insurance job that was obviously inflated. I have 3 out of pocket quotes that range from $16-$24k. This message was sent at about noon. Robert didn't respond at all. I called the next morning at about 10AM. No answer. 8 or 9 hours later, he had still not responded and I called the office. When Robert finally called back, he informed me that they double charged me for permits and extra decking. So they're demanding payment with snotty Justin and they don't even have their numbers right. Robert said he shared my text and then got Justin in on a 3 way call. I told Justin I was disgusted with all of this and mentioned the $1500 to just be done, give a good review, and I'd pay immediately. He got all upset, accused me of extortion, and threatened to sue me if I withheld payment. Justin told me his only goal is to make money. He asked if I ever give up any of my commissions and laughed when I said it's only happened twice in 25 years, but I will absolutely do right by my client even if it costs me money. Customer satisfaction is so much more important than mine. He then told me he'd also sue me if I told my neighbor about this. My neighbor signed up for a $30K roof on my recommendation. Seems like a good reason to try to make a me happy! On top of that, I'm also a Realtor who gets asked for contractor recommendations VERY routinely. If my roofer hadn't retired, I wouldn't have been calling Five Star. Now, I just remind the other 397 Realtors at my office that they should not be recommending or using Five Star. In the end, I got excuses and a $100 wind mitigation report out of them. They got a bunch of free material for another job. And I had to repair my own drip edge, fascia, lights, fans, and driveway. I'm so glad to be done with Justin's rollercoaster of incompetence and foul language. Until Justin got involved (after the text I posted), it was completely salvageable and polite. He's the problem. Despicable all around.

When I had gotten fed up with the process I had one last company scheduled and that was Southshore roofing. Jason came out at my convenience and went through his sales pitch. And at first listening to him. I thought ok. He's just trying to get a sale. But I have to say. Jason held up to every word he said in our initial meeting. This is the first insurance claim I've ever submitted for my home and I will say Jason helped me so much through this process. I'm so extremely happy I chose Jason/southshore. My work hours are long and that lead me to calling and texting at the most random of times. And Jason either picked up or got back to me in a very timely manner. I literally felt like I was his only customer. Having never gone through this process. Jason helped me understand every stage of the entire replacement process. Happily answering any questions no matter what they were or what time they came. His communication throughout put me at ease. There is no one I think I'd have trusted more with my home than Jason and southshore. My roof looks fantastic and I'm so happy I went with Jason and southshore. It's so refreshing to look back on our first meeting and realize Jason was a man of his word with everything he said. That was a big win for me. Southshore will have my recommendation whenever they need it. Jason as well. When the install was taking place. I had some questions. And the superintendent Andrew was also super fast at answering any questions I had and rectifying any of my concerns. For a first time home buyer and making my first insurance claim ... southshore made everything as smooth as possible on their end and I can't thank them enough

Review of Start2Finish Flooring from 11.22.2021 -to- 11.25.2021:…read moreWe had a major interior flood in our home in early September 2021. Our insurance company gave us several choices on how to oversee the subsequent claim and we choose their option of a 'Single-Point-Of-Contact-Contractor' who in turn would manage the repair and restoration from "A" -to- "Z." That company is Gulf Coast Restoration & Construction/GCR&C (http://www.gcrcinc.com). We had four flooring areas in our home that was damaged, and we elected to replace the wood flooring and carpet areas with tile. GCR&C sub-contracted Start2Finish Flooring (www.start2finishflooring.com) who have 30-plus years of experience. The 30-plus years of experience was evident from start -to- finish! The team of Jose Plasencia/Team Leader, David Plasencia, and Angel Lopez arrived at our home ten minutes prior to their schedule start time; and they did this on November 22, 23, 24, and 25 without fail. There was a lot of heavy furniture involved in three of the four areas, we walked the project, discussed several ways of approaching the install and agreed on a plan of attack. Then the team went to work. Everyday they stayed on task, they were constantly doing something that pertained to the installation of over 810.96 square feet of tile. Because there was existing tile Mr. Plasencia called on his supervisor, Mr. Junior Rodriguez, to come to the house to review the installation plan with emphasis on how the new tile will interact/lineup with the existing tile; keep in mind they use lasers to ensure how the tile pattern is going to be established. Mr. Rodriguez, after walking/analyzing the work area and discussing options with Mr. Plasencia brought my wife and I into the discussion, pointed out the areas of concern and provided at least two options in the areas of concern. Given this companies 30-plus years of experience we asked Mr. Rodriguez to state what he felt was the best option, which he did with an understandable explanation of why. We went with his expertise and the plan to complete the installation was formed and agreed upon. In quite simple terms, the Team of Jose, David, and Angel are consummate professionals. They did an outstanding job. As well, when moving the heavy furniture, they ensured we were part of the decision process on where to move the furniture to, given this project was expected to last until November 26 and my wife, our two dogs, and I are living in our home during this project; they took extra care and considered safety issues in moving the heavy furniture and did not damage any furniture or walls. Because we are living in our home during this work, before they left at the end of the day, they made sure to brief us on what areas to be careful of and the plan for the next days' work. Finally, when they advised us, they would work on Thanksgiving, if that was okay with us, given we have been living in a torn-up house since early September and the fact that when they were finished, we would have a household that looked normal, that allowed us to use all areas of our home we were ecstatic. Better yet, by 12:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day we celebrated with Jose, David, and Angel over some Apple Pie that the job was done, and they were heading out the door to enjoy their hard-earned holiday weekend. We highly recommend Start2Finish Flooring for any flooring installation needs you may have; they are professionals who do a professional job with a very cheerful outlook all day long and the team of Jose, David, and Angel worked as a Team the entire time.

I have sent text messages to the sales person Troy Hassan who came with the contract and who I gave the check to. I have messaged him several times with no response. I have also called several times with no satisfaction. I emailed this person Charles weeks again weeks ago and asked what was going on . He told me the person handling my job quit and so the job fell thru the cracks. He was so mad that this was aloud to happen. I finally got ahold of Josh and he told me a totally different story.
