Zero Stars - Completely Unprofessional and Irresponsible. Shingle Masters did a roofing job for our neighbors and left nails scattered all over the road for weeks. As a result, I ended up with two damaged tires, and when I approached them about it, they refused to take any responsibility. Michael Beauchaine the manager, who I dealt with, was extremely rude, dismissive, and made it clear he had no interest in making things right. Tried to find every reason not to help saying his company wasn't at fault. Even after I told him I have everything on video.This company's negligence and lack of accountability is unacceptable. If this is how they treat the people affected by their work, I'd seriously question how they treat their own clients. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone! All of my neighbors that have used them in the past complained of their negligence and lack of professionalism and workmanship. He came out quickly to give us a quote and did a thorough review of our existing roof - he even took pictures with a drone, which we were given access to. The customer service at this company is awful. Mike is rude and patronizing, even when the company is at fault. My roof is under warranty and leaking. A crew came out to "fix" the leak prior to Hurricane Helene. After the crew came out, I reasonably believed my roof was fixed. However, my roof continued to leak through Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. When I informed the company, I was ignored. Two weeks later, I was informed by email that my roof leak was never fixed because they "don't fix cupolas." However, NO ONE informed me at any time that my roof leak wasn't repaired. Now I have water damage throughout my ceiling caused by two different hurricanes. Mike's response to me was "what do you want me to do about it?" read more

They never pulled a permit, which has been a pain whenever my home insurance company changes. When I called, they said a permit wasn't need for anything under $5,000. The city inspector who was on site for another home project said that was absurd and recommended I report them to the state licensing board. I'm currently working with another roofing company to have the roof completely redone because they didn't taper the flat roof and left a gulley for water to collect, which has caused leaks in my ceiling. I was in a rush to get the roof replaced when I purchased my home (2017) in order to get home insurance, and I wish I'd had time to research companies more. I now understand why they didn't pull a permit; their work would never have passed the city inspection. read more

The sales guy, Brock, is slick... has the folders, pamphlets, samples & everything. Then come the workers who couldn't give a crap & not a single one speaks english. Tossed my sattelite off the roof & broke it. Left broken roof decking, nails & debris all over my bed when replacing skylight. Left visible holes in the roof decking & simply papered/shingled over them. Left my gutters dangling, barely attached. Used cedar for some exposed exterior roof beams that had rotted behind the gutters, but used non-pressure treated pine for others (this is a high moisture, exterior exposed & highly visible area outside the house). They even nailed the 2 different types of wood for the beam repairs to each other! Hello rot & termites! I guess they ran out of cedar & used whatever was lying around to split the difference in what was required. They even left some rotted beams un-fixed but repaired the decking the rotted beams were holding up!! How is that logical? This is all still after I had to practically stand over them & catch all the other "getter-duns" that they tried to slip through. Imagine if I hadn't!!! Once they pack up - good luck getting anything fixed when you find it. They haven't even been away from my house for an hour & the games began. What you will get are excuses & accused of "heresay". Why should they care? They make you sign an agreement which allows them to place a lien on your house if you withold payment. Now I understand why... $14,000 for a 1,600 sq ft house. Proves that paying for the most expensive contractor doesn't guarantee quality of any sort. read more

Had to do a total roof replacement. Almost $10k for a 1300 square foot 1 story house. It's expensive, man. But, by damn, were these dudes thorough. The entire roof was done in 7 hours. They scoured the yard for lost nails and scraps, which is absolutely necessary when you've got small kids and an idiot dog that eats things she finds. A second guy came by about a week later for final touch up and a little extra cleanup, but the vast vast majority of work was in a day. My neighborhood is getting to the age where every week, someone 8s getting their roof redone. Almost all of them have a dumpster in their driveway for a week, and a crew in their house for several days. Not us. Customer service was good, and always got back to me within a day. read more

I'm grateful to shingle Masters for getting me out of a nightmare situation. When I moved into my abode I had no idea that part of it was poorly constructed and was prone to leaks. I hired a roofer to make a fix and when it later failed and started leaking again I had them come back and try again. You can only do this so many times before you give up and try another roofer. I'm not exaggerating when I say that over several years I repeated this multiple times with multiple roofers. It got to the point where I felt sick to my stomach when I would hear a rain storm approaching because I knew there was a good chance I would have to deal with a leaky roof again. Shingle Master was able to fix what other roofers could not because they are a general contractor, not just a roofing company. That meant that they could address the area *near* the problem roof area (behind a wall, etc) and were able to stop the leaking for good. Years later when I needed a complete new roof replacement of course I had them do it. The work was done in one complete day and I had a dumpster in my driveway for a little over two days. It couldn't have gone more smoothly. There was a foreman on site that I could've gone out to talk to if I wanted to but there was no need for that. I never interacted with anyone once work began. I dealt with Todd for the estimates and paperwork and I believe it was Doug who returned later to do the touch up painting. They're all so nice and helpful. So I will start by saying I wanted to take a star off because they are not the cheapest, but I feel that isn't fair since reviewing based on other things. You are not always going to get the cheapest for good quality. I dealt with Eric for sales and he was more than reliable. We got about 8 different quotes and after speaking to everyone, he was the most knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He was patient even when I change my mind about the shingle about 50 times. Finally decided with the black color and I could not be happier with the look and quality of it! Everything looks amazing and they finished it all in about a full day and a half in the middle of Florida heat. This is important for us because who wants to deal with that noise for longer than that? After that they picked everything up and left it looking clean! I was hoping for a better outcome from such a highly rated company. Their sales rep fell short in measuring a less than 20 ft repair by 150%. They admitted, after several, denials that they incorrectly measured my roof and finally adjusted the invoice. The scary thing is that they came out and measured twice and wanted to measure a third time after I called them on it. I'm really not hard to please... I even had them blow $1300 insulation knowing we could have went through TECO for a couple hundred. Sadly, they fell short in measuring half of a garage roof by $1600+ I really hope you have the 5 star rep show up... mine couldn't read a tape measure... Their crew did a good job but their sales rep and owner blamed $600 of the incorrect quote on them so I can only give them 2 stars. Our sales rep, Todd Fries, was very thorough and gave us the best analysis of our roof's condition of the 3 quotes we received. We appreciated his no pressure approach and the fact that no payment was required until the satisfactory completion of work. He was the only one to identify the extent of the wind damage on our roof...others just said it was old and time for replacement. At Todd's suggestion, we contacted our insurance company and their appraiser agreed with his assessment and authorized payment for the portion of the work covered by our policy! I notice some other reviews complaining of Spanish speaking crews. All 3 sales reps that issued quotes mentioned that their crews were all Spanish speaking. As to the Shingle Masters crew, they were very friendly, efficient and hard working. They took pride in a job well done! The supervisor spoke English and they responded quickly to my questions and requests. They did a very thorough cleanup after work completion. They also replaced our gutters with new seamless gutters with larger down spouts and solved some leak issues where the Lanai meets the back of our house, not related to the house roofing. I contacted them to quote my flat roof. They gave me a quote. After accepting the quote I got another quote. It was highly under their quote. I called and canceled their quote within the 3 day window. They promptly turned me in to the county for not pulling a permit. NOT my job. Very vindictive towards competition. I've had the roof replaced three times over the past 45 years. Shingle Masters did the best job by far of the three roofers I've dealt with. The work was done quickly and thoroughly with lots of attention to detail. For instance, I've never had a roofer paint the vents and pipes in my roof to match the color of the shingles. I accepted ShingleMaster estimate/proposal on 4/3/17 and every contact after that was on my part (multiple contacts). I had to contact them (after emailing the proposal) to see if they received the proposal; he said yes it would be week of 4/17 or 4/24 before the work could be done. After having not heard from them on 4/23 I emailed again. Again after not having heard from them I emailed again on 5/2 to ask when the work could be done. They replied they'd try and have it done soon. I explained I understood it was a small job (fascia repair) but I needed the work done by 5/12 otherwise I needed to move to another company. He said he would try. On 5/11 they called my cell (didn't leave message) and then I got an email saying their tech/team would be out by lunch to do the work. I called and said it would have been nice if they'd let me know at least 1 day before so I could leave out the house paint (otherwise how were they going to paint the repaired work). They came out did the repair work and primed the wood. When I called about them painting she said they be back out. I left the paint out. After a week of them not coming back, I ended up painting it myself. Even after emailing again to tell them I had ended up doing the painting myself (because they still hadn't come back after 10 days), I asked them how they wanted to be paid. AGAIN, no communication from them. It wasn't until today (6/3) that I finally got an invoice for the work (minus the painting; since I'd done it myself). So almost 2 months transpired over a very simple repair job (and every communication was on MY part). Very disappointing and unprofessional how they make the customer put so much effort to do work (that I was willing to pay them). I certainly would NOT recommend them. I know my repairs were small (in comparison to other roofing jobs I'm sure they had) but I would have rather them been honest with me that they couldn't or didn't want to take the job. read more
