Once you walk the block to the studio, it's right across from Snoopy's. Their studio is the first one when you walk into the Carter building. Melissa S. NEURODIVERGENT AND AUTISTIC INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES LISTEN UP!…read more My 12-year-old daughter is proudly Autistic (level III limited verbal). I have had the hardest time finding somewhere to cut her hair. Salons that claim to be friendly to the Autistic community are often not knowledgeable of the sensory demands of being on the spectrum. And to top it off, the cuts at those salons are expensive considering the 15 minutes they allow for the appointment (and the cut often looks rushed). Coming to Shear Joy is a great alternative and worth every penny. You won't have to navigate a waiting room. You won't have to deal with the distractions of other clients and stylists talking, music, phones ringing (we all know all too well how that can derail our kids before even starting the appointment). Gospel is able to give you a calm environment to have truly one-on-one attention. Gospel had a wonderful fun energy with my daughter. My daughter could feel her compassion come through for sure. I was amazed how comfortable my daughter was. Any little self-soothing my daughter did (leg bouncing, scripting) was met with Gospel's compassion. When my daughter would fidget, Gospel's steady hand would adjust. It was truly something to see. Gospel was good about communicating to my daughter what she was doing and what she was going to do (us Autism Parents know how important that is). I am so excited my days of trying to cut her hair at home are over!

Recently I visited Tia for Brow Lamination and sculpting and I'm a very satisfied client…read more Lamination is like a relaxer for your brow hairs. Brow lamination takes your curly unruly or thinning brow hair and smoothes it out with a keratin treatment while also lifting the hair in a more vertical direction. The end result is super smooth brows that look like you have brow gel on them. I've been going to Tia since September of last year and I've seen tremendous improvement with growth and shaping. Prior to relocating I always had my eyebrows threaded in New York. I struggled for years with shape and growth that I was unhappy with. Tia is a blessing to brows ! Her studio is clean, posh, comfortable and always smells amazing. She even has a heated blanket for her spa table ! She does it all! Lashes, micro blading,..lamination, brow and body waxing galore ! Online scheduling is so easy. I think I've been here 3 times in the past 9 months or so. Each time has been a pleasant experience. Tia has been on time and very welcoming. She exudes confidence and professionalism but very down to earth too. Her office is super clean and organized. I completely trust her with my eyebrows. Tia doesn't try to up sell you either. I plan to continue coming back. Please check her out. There's plenty of parking too.

I was genuinely excited to inquire here, especially given all of the positive reviews. My initial…read morecall with Marion was great, and I came away feeling very comfortable and optimistic. Unfortunately, my experience changed completely after that. After my first call, I began communicating with Rachel. I had inquired specifically about a breast augmentation with implants and a lift. After the doctor reviewed my photos, Rachel called and explained that he was instead recommending a different procedure that would cost roughly $10,000 more than what I had originally asked about. I was very clear that I understood the recommendation but still wanted a quote for the procedure I had actually inquired about. Despite repeatedly explaining what I wanted, I could not get a straightforward quote for it. Instead, the conversation continued to revolve around the more expensive procedure they were recommending. The entire process ended up wasting about a month that I could have spent consulting with other surgeons. Being highly rated was one of the reasons I initially felt so confident reaching out, but my experience left me feeling like what I actually wanted was not being taken into consideration. What bothered me most was that liposuction was also brought up even though I had never inquired about it. When someone is already discussing cosmetic surgery and putting themselves in a vulnerable position by sending photos of their body, suggesting additional procedures they never expressed concern about can feel incredibly unnecessary and insecurity-inducing. I completely understand a surgeon making professional recommendations, and I would expect them to tell me if they believe another approach would produce a better result. But there is a difference between making a recommendation and refusing to meaningfully discuss or quote the procedure a patient is actually asking for. Unfortunately, I walked away from this experience feeling unheard, pressured toward a significantly more expensive procedure, and more insecure than I did when I started.
