My dad passed away unexpectedly in October, so I think I was just hoping that she could hang on a little bit longer...once she was getting stuck in corners and not able to find her food/water, I knew it was time. The woman I spoke with on the phone during the first call had such a calming voice, and she was so understanding. She explained what would happen next and asked for days/times that worked for me. As the appointment approached, I received several emails about what to expect. I also received the consent form prior to the appointment to allow for the last amount of paperwork while they were here. Dr. Emily Yau was the veterinarian, and she had someone shadowing her (I didn't catch her name). They were both extremely professional and allowed us the space to spend the time we wanted with Sunni before, during, and after. They were so gentle and kind, and I appreciated that about them. They also reassured us that we were doing the right thing and that Sunni wouldn't be in any pain. When it was time for them to take Sunni, she was so careful with her and placed her in a beautiful basket with a purple blanket. It was so hard to watch them walk away with her, but I know she was in good hands. Dr. Emily emailed after with some details from our session, so I know she was listening and doesn't just have "stock" emails. She said it was an honor to help people like us - I can't imagine what they see, and I'm very thankful for this service.

In one of the absolute worst times of your life, you can trust these people to be just what you need. Dr Emily Yau was who visited us and she was extremely patient and personable. I cannot say enough great things about her or the business. Thank you for making the hardest time just a tiny bit easier as I'm certain it cannot be easy at all.

She is a very shy and anxious girl and has ALWAYS hated going to the vet. By happenstance we had to find a new one and decided to go with City Way. FRIENDS!! From the moment we walked in, we were treated with care and kindness. They didn't force Daisy to do anything (I'm used to them holding her down as she looks at me, terrified) and gave her EXCELLENT care!! They had fantastic ideas and suggestions. They gave us plenty of time and made sure that all of my questions and concerns were addressed. I could seriously cry tears of joy writing this. It feels good when others care for your loved one like you do. I am so happy that we made the switch!!!

Fast forward to yesterday, and my poor dog dislocated her hip. My wife called city way at 2pm, and they were unable to see her at any of their six lications. Unfortunate, but understandable. I take my dog to the clinic, they pop her leg back into socket and put a tape sling to immobilize it. Fast forward to this morning and she has already worked the sling off. We give city way a call and they state they don't do ortho. Weird, but okay. My wife calls with advice from the vet for shelbys pain meds and giving her benedryl. It is now 4 hours later and they still haven't gotten back with us. I could not recommend them less.

I went on the site and saw pictures of the Cavaliers that were up for adoption. They were really so cute that I google this breed and fell in love with them. So I applied to foster a dog and about a week later they called and told me that they had just found out about this puppy mill in MO that had been shut down and they were driving there to pick up 20 dogs and puppies. So they needed fosters right away. I drove to Indiana and picked up the dog (puppy) that I was fostering. Her name was Fergie and she was 6 months old and in perfect health. Well, of course I knew I was going to fail at being a foster because the second I met Fergie...I knew she was mine. So about a week after I was fostering her I finally broke the news to Lucky Star that I was going to adopt Fergie. The whole process was very easy and what a great feeling to know she was rescued away from a bad life. They pay all the vet bills for being fixed, a complete check up, all their shots and teeth checked. They do ask for a donation when you adopt. But they do have alot of vet bills as some of the dogs that come out of puppy mills aren't always healthy because they were so abused. A small cost for saving the life of a beautiful, snuggable, kissable puppy. I want to rescue a bunch more, but I am at the limit of two dogs right now. Check them out at http://www.luckystarcavalierrescue.org/ and they will melt your heart too.

I've struggled mightily since then in a myriad of ways ranging from having to re-learn personal care to having to figure out working and taking care of my home. I've been familiar with Lyric Gorman of One Woman Many Trades for quite some time. I've always struggled with the idea of people coming into my home - partly because I do have a hard time managing it and partly because life with an even more significant disability now has made things more complicated than ever and my home definitely shows it at times. One Woman Many Trades offers a variety of local services designed to make life easier - housecleaning, organization, child care, personal assisting, and a host of others. One Woman Many Trades has helped me out around the house including house cleaning, organization, personal assisting, organizing tasks, and other things. When One Woman Many Trades enters my home, I know that I'm in good care and I know she can be trusted to non-judgmentally help out and to do so conscientiously and compassionately. I remember once she helped out with my bathroom. Oh my word, she deserved hazard pay for that one. Yet, she's been around disability and she gets it and she simply gets in there and gets the work done and treats people with dignity and respect. She's fair in pricing, compassionate in her service, a consummate professional, and extremely good at whatever she offers to do. I'm honestly someone who's insecure about having folks enter my house - but One Woman Many Trades radiates caring and she's easily one of the first people I'd call to help around my home. One Woman Many Trades is a certified nanny and babysitter and comfortable working with any age. She offers transportation and tutoring and is CPR and First Aid-certified. Services include such things as tidy/basic/deep cleaning, move-in/move-out, organizational, recycling and garbage removal, window cleaning, upholstery/fabric cleaning, laundry, contamination prevention, grocery delivery, personal shopping, transportation, home staging, home sitting, pet sitting, event planning, community-based habilitation, and others. One Woman Many Trades is a small, woman-owned business that offers quality work done compassionately. She's been undeniably helpful to me and she's had to work through a lot of my defenses and has done so patiently and with tremendous caring. She's what we country folks call "good people" and she's consistently done good work for me. I'd wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend her.
