First time going to acupuncture and subsequently to this place. Hesitant for any and all types of medicine so I came in a bit nervous. Her website was easy to navigate and I received a reminder email and a text with the codes to the building and bathrooms. The process was very warm and inviting which instantly calmed my nerves. We started with a quick chat on my needs, experience, expectations and goals for a successful acupuncture experience. Before disrobing, I had a quick check in about consent as this involves touching and being comfortable with potentially less clothing on if you choose to. We started with a heating pad and electric shock pads placed on my back then I was invited to lay on my back and needles were placed starting on my forehead and third eye all the way down my body. I was asked between music or meditation and choose meditation. It was so relaxing that I dozed off a few times during the 20ish minutes! Afterwards I flipped on my back where I got cupping. A light lotion was applied along with the cupping. That process was another 20 minutes long. After that. Was briefly chatted and she answered all my questions. Highlights of the experience included the constant and check ins. It was a two way dialogue about it and she was receptive to when I asked for more or less. Another highlight was the atmosphere. She truly made it a trustworthy experience that was physically reinvigorating as it was emotionally and spiritually. Will be going back! read more

My husband and I both see Cara for acupuncture. The treatment is one hour long and includes cupping, neuromuscular stimulation, LED Red Light Therapy, and Gua Sha. Cara is very friendly and easy to talk to. She's also very flexible when it comes to scheduling and making changes in appointments. There's no private parking lot so if it's your first time, come a little early to make sure you know your parking options. I usually avoid downtown but Cara is worth the drive! read more

Cara is amazing, when I moved to San Diego I wanted to continue getting acupuncture for my chronic foot pain and I was also trying to convince. I found her from my old insurance website and so glad I did. She uses a variety of techniques in addition to acupuncture. I had a miscarriage around the time I started going to her and she help with that pain and well as point to increase egg implantation which must of worked too well since my husband and I now have twins. Used moxa stick to help with my swelling in addition to needle points issues during my pregnancy. I ended up with a lot of clogged ducts post giving birth and possible mastitis and she helped with those points as well. She also works on my foot pain, cold laser therapy in addition to needle points. I always leave feeling relaxed and reset. With the babies I do not get in as often as I should but when I do I'm so glad I made an appointment. read more

I had a session with Cara today and I am BLISSED OUT! Cara from Andara Acupuncture was one of the vendors that participated in the beauty and wellness passport from pink sugar that I bought. A couple weeks after buying the passport I texted her to make an appointment and she was quick to respond and very professional from the get go. On the day of my appointment I arrived and I instantly feel Cara was an elevated soul. I've been having problems with my wrists and feet and Cara was a VERY good listener. It felt so good to know that she was listening... it made me feel confident in her ability as a healer. I laid down on my back and had my chakras balanced, some elecrto massage/ warmer things put on my back, needling done to open my chi channels, then she flipped me around and did some more needling on my feet and cupping on my back. After she massaged some amazing stuff into my forearms with this tool that felt INCREDIBLE. I will definitely be back and I am so happy to have met her. I wish I would do this sort of thing a little more often!!! read more

I started going to Cara Dinote at Andara Acupuncture about a year ago to try yet another treatment for migraines, fatigue, muscle tension, etc. I had learned to live with my pains for so long that I had NO CLUE how much better life could be. After just 1 month of consecutive treatments with Cara, my mind had become clearer and my energy levels were improving. I had the drive to eat healthy, work out, and be an active participant in my life. Migraines and muscle tension is a lot harder to treat but if you go regularly, you can keep them at bay. I seriously notice a difference when I haven't gone to Cara in a while - my body starts to feel out of whack and my migraines return. This is better than always taking Advil/Tylenol and getting very temporary relief! Lastly I just want to say that on top of everything acupuncture has done for me in the past year, I've also learned to listen to my body thanks to Cara. Now every time I come in, I already have a feeling which part of me is feeling unbalanced and why. I regularly pick Cara's brain on herbal medicine and preventative care, and have learned so much thanks to her. Seriously the best! read more

Life changing! I'm so happy to of met Cara. I'd seen other practitioners before and it had felt so cold and impersonal. I see Cara now every other week for Acupunture and cupping, and my body (and mind) has never felt better. As a hair stylist I am hard on my body, standing all day and have constant pain in my upper shoulders and back. The cupping is the only thing that has ever released that tension in my body! She is so knowledgeable about the entire service, and I find her esoteric approach comforting and right up my ally. I'm hooked! read more

Second visit for pinched nerve in back. Cara was very professional and courteous in setting things up. Cara is wonderful and gives you way more than just an average acupuncture session. She incorporates chakra balancing, muscle stimulation and cupping into her sessions that also include front and backside needling. I'm usually very jumpy during needle application but Cara has the most light handed, gentle technique I've ever experienced, you barely feel her applying the needles at all. Her space is clean, and very comfortable and she's located inside a wellness center that offers many other wonderful health and beauty services. She also excepts insurance and helped me discover that I have coverage I didn't even know about. She's all around incredible and extremely skilled at her practice, I highly recommend her! read more
