Already been here 4 times and it had a nice spanish vibe. Maybe a bit slow or different for people who are expecting timely and fast serve but I didnt mind at all since I was out to enjoy. Amazing! We loved the ambiance, everyone was friendly and helpful. The tapas were absolutely delicious. There were 6 of us. We tried several dishes including the paella. We got to try some new foods and had a great time. I loved the wine, hubby loved the calamari and tortilla, kids enjoyed the meatballs (also the orange ice cream and crème brûlée.) Their parents really liked the cheeses. This is a great locale to enjoy a wonderful meal with friends and family. read more

This restaurant made me appreciate the American custom of tipping. Generally I like not having to tip in Europe (although that practice seems to be changing a bit), but at home a waiter knows that he can earn a great tip by providing excellent service or a not so good tip if he's just not that into you. The servers at Anda Lucia were just not that into us. A request for water was never fulfilled, our waiter rushed us through ordering, and gave us the hand when we tried to get his attention for something. Finally, he tried to insist that our US style credit card without a chip wouldn't work in his machine before he even tried to swipe. Really? Were we the first customers you ever had with a chip free credit card? And then lo and behold! The credit card worked on the first attempt, so what was all the drama about? When traveling abroad, we bend over backwards to dispel the myth of the ugly American. We are polite and deferential and NEVER start off in English. Hubby speaks both German and Spanish quite well, and I can do just fine in Spanish myself, especially at a restaurant. So why the lackluster service? We'll never know but I hope it wasn't because we're auslanders! The food btw was excellent! Sardines, mussels, cold seafood mix, tortilla española, and patatas bravas were all delicious. Some of the dishes were slightly different from what we're used to at home but because we're not far from Spain, perhaps more authentic. The meatballs were all beef and no bread crumbs so they were a bit dense, but they came in a delicious tomato sauce. The setting right on Sauvigny Square was also beautiful and a definite draw. If we'd had a different waiter this review would be four stars at least, but only the excellent food and drinks kept it at three rather than two stars. read more

I will never recomend this place to anyone!They said that the restaurant is open since 4 years and what i saw was just a BAD SERVICE, UNPROFESSIONAL RESTAURANT AND EXPENSIVE PRICES Normally i don´t write reviews from the places that i go but this one deserve the worst one for sure. Im living here in Berlin since 2 years and i use to go out for dinner at least 2 times per week.Im a pastry chef, and i`ve been working in the industry for a long time, also in the service so i know what im talking about We were a group of 15 and i know, normally restaurant hate big groups but still if they let u in is because they know what is coming, and they have to make their best to make people come back and not angry so after that they will writte bad reviews like im doing now. I have to say that the restaurant was not even full, just our table and 3 other small onces. First of all the WAITER was really rude, probably STONE, DRUNK or even HIGH but it was clear that he couldn't handle correctly the situation, changing his mood really fast and he even had to ask a colleague to do his job. He was screaming at us when he brought the drinks and totally pissed, then when he brought the food he was even more aggressive and he picked a fight with one of the persons, why? coz this person order this typical spanish Omelette called Tortilla española but in the menu says the 2 names so when he came with it, the waiter start to SCREAM "TORTILLA????" and no one understood what he was saying. Then after he almost throw away the plate in front of us, the guy said maybe i order that but in the menu says other thing and i dont speak spanish sorry, and the waiter kept screaming and saying, yes thats what you order "TORTILLA"! dont you see it in the menu?, just RUDE . From the hole group, only 8 persons order something to eat and maybe the food wasnt that bad after all, but everyone got their plates in a different time and some of them arrived once the other where already finished, that is just a very bad timing and organisation in the kitchen! read more

Terribly disappointed. Admittedly it was after 2000 and the place was crowded, service was extremely slow. Menus immediately after seating but no one to take an order until my wife got up to ask for someone. Inexperienced waiter took the order and managed to screw it up. A simple soup and salad took 30 minutes to be served. The place was hopping and perhaps the other items on the menu are worth the wait, but I will never know as I will never darken their door again. read more

As a spanish I never use to go to any kind of "tapas bar" outside Spain (nor some places in spain either that are tourists traps) but we live literally a minute ago from Anda Lucia and after a year we've never tried. I wanted to sit down again in the bar not just in a table and that day was empty enough to do so. The worker was so fun and nice with us and he even give us some drink samples (sangria was great). The portions we ordered were awesome, really tasty. Pretty good for a "tapas bar". The only bad part is that there was only San Miguel as a craft beer... really? San Miguel? OMG there's a bunch of much better beers out there in spain :) We had at the end 2 alhambras in the bottle that were really good, but expensive (4€ for 33cl each). I can't say anything good about this place, we waited more than an hour for our food. The food was inedible, dry and salty. We asked for water 10 times during the meal never got it. The staff makes no amends for the very poor service. read more

You better tip for no service or you go home. Food and drinks are good but as mentioned the service is pretty weak

Terrible experience all around. A couple sitting next to us complained that they'd been waiting on their tapas for an hour and a half, so the staff started bringing them dishes they hadn't even ordered. We were served our drinks and the olives we ordered, but never saw our other tapas. We also ordered paella, which we were told would take 45 minutes, but our small plates should have come out fairly quickly. In the hour we waited, having been served only olives, we saw the bartender drop and break a glass, only to be mounted and humped by the shift manager as he cleaned it up. When I went up to the bar to ask where, at the very least, our small plates were, the bartender made fun of me, and the manager printed out our order ticket to "prove" that we'd only ordered 40 minutes before. Because of the other couple, we actually checked the time when we ordered, so the printout only proved that he waited 20 minutes to even enter our order in their system. We said that we wanted to pay for our drinks and olives and leave, and the manager claimed that our paella was ready that minute, and we *had* to pay for it. He brought it out, and it was inedible. The rice was extremely underdone. Terrible, terrible experience, food, and even drinks. Having been a restaurant manager, I know how insanely difficult it is, but this behavior is absolutely inexcusable. I strongly urge all to avoid this restaurant. read more
