We went for Sunday brunch and it was fantastic. We made a reservation late the night before and they had a wonderful table ready for us outside in their little garden. The entire restaurant is clean and cozy. We filled up on a lot of vegetarian and vegan options for brunch. Also had some flat whites which were on point. This is a small, cute restaurant deep in Neukölln. The interior resembles - and maybe actually was - the living room of a house. The tables and chairs are second-hand, stylish, and even include comfortable couches. It's very "Berlin," i.e. very popular with the hipster crowd. I have only been there for the brunch, which has remained remarkably stable over the years and is very vegetarian friendly. It features a nice selection of eggs, veggies, breads, and cheeses. Nothing out of the ordinary here: just good quality food. The selection is smaller and less diverse than in other brunch restaurants, but this seems mostly due to the small size of the seating and kitchen spaces. They just don't have the capacity to offer more types of food. The reason for three and not four stars is two-fold: most times I have eaten there, the kitchen has fallen behind the demand for food, and there are wait-times for certain selections. On particularly busy days this has meant that I just haven't been able to eat, for example, eggs. This is a first-world problem, sure, but if you pay for something, you should reasonably expect to receive what you have paid for. The second reason for the loss of star is the price. When I moved to Berlin, the price for brunch here was 9€. That has since increased to 12.50€. I have to say that the quality of the experience has not increased 30% along with the price. I understand that rents are rising and that Berlin can't stay cheap forever, but the price:quality ratio just doesn't quite fit in this case. Overall, this is a good restaurant in an area where there aren't many other good choices. It's worth a visit if you're in the area, but probably not worth a trip if you're not. read more

Brunch and breakfast is a big deal in Berlin and lots of cafes offer breakfast assorted plates or weekend buffets. However, Cafe Dritter Raum has the best brunch by far in Berlin. If you buy a coffee and the all-you-can-eat buffet, the total is only about 10 Euros, and the variety and quality of the bunch is astounding. I am a vegetarian, but even meat-lovers will appreciate the plates of roasted vegetables, vegan baked beans, unique spreads bursting with flavors like ginger or sun-dried tomatoes, and the fluffy American-style pancakes. They also have a selection of cheese, fruits, fresh-baked breads, desserts, sliced meat, cereals, and salads. I have come back here three times since I moved to Berlin with different people, and each time my guest has been ecstatic about the quality of the food. The inside of the cafe is quite cozy, with a living room feel and classic, heavy furniture. The garden courtyard is quite lovely in the summer. As a final note, Cafe Dritter Raum also makes very nice Americanos and their "extra-thick Italian Hot Coco" is amazing. read more

No wonder this place is overcrowded on Sundays the breakfast buffet is amazing! I'm a vegetarian, and could easily eat myself stuffed with the most delicious variety of warm and cold veggie food. My stepson had a ham-toast and said it was really good too ;) Friendly and service-minded staff: they did all they could to squeeze in arriving guests even at rush hour and took their time to walk around and ask if ppl were OK or needed drinks etc. Impressive! I'm glad I live closeby. As long as my wallet allows it, this will be my regular Sunday breakfast routine. (but don't worry, it's only 8,50EUR for a buffet and well worth the money). A cozy spot for vegetarian brunch in Neukölln. Get there early, and preferably on a sunny day so that there will be more tables available. It's tiny inside, but there's seating out front and even more in the garden out back. They helpfully don't put ashtrays on the tables, which means the chances of people blowing smoke into your breakfast are drastically reduced. Thanks for this, Dritter Raum! I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars for this review. On the one hand I like the low-key environment (it's like a potluck at your grandma's house) and the drinks are also fabulous (there is an amazing selection of tea and Trinkschokolade!). On the other hand, the food is hit or miss. On a recent visit they had hardboiled eggs, scrambled eggs, and a picture-perfect quiche-inspired thing that reminded me of Chicago-style pizza in composition (thick crust, layer of cheese, approximately equal size layer of egg, tomatoes and more cheese) but was less flavorful than it looked. They also had baked beans, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, beets, quinoa, and those alternating slices of tomato and mozzarella you find everywhere in Germany -- all fine, but nothing special. There were some nice spreads, a smattering of cheeses, a tasty coconut-milk rice pudding (marked "vegan") and fresh fruit (including big, delicious slices of pineapple, also marked "vegan"). And there were some pancakes made from almond milk (or meal?) which were fashionably vegan and gluten-free, but far from fluffy. (I put a lot of blueberry jam on mine, which helped.) I eventually spotted some bread, but it was hidden away beneath the cheese display, as if it should be ashamed of its gluten content. I guess I'll go for 4 stars because the selection is quite good, I like the atmosphere, and I'm definitely not one of these people to complain about a 12.50 buffet (it costs money to grow food! workers deserve living wages! and if you want something cheap, there are plenty of options half the price of the buffet). But I'd like to see Dritter Raum focus less on what is vegan or gluten free and more on providing really excellent food. read more

This place is rare gem just 2 blocks from my apartment. Unpretentious interior, slightly decrepit (very authentic Berlin style) with a collection of old couches and mismatched chairs. If you are looking for Brooklyn-style hipster cafe that is "made" to look "old", this place is not for you. The owners are sweet and friendly and the food feels like you went to a friend's house and they whipped something up for you on the fly. Definitely will go check out the brunch buffet. read more

It seemed a little shabby and unwelcoming on the outside but turned out to be a great choice! The beer was perfect and so was the chocolate/walnut cake. The place is not very big, it will squeeze maybe around 15 people, just a couple of tables. Had breakfast for the first time there this past weekend. Unfortunately, my eggs were rubbery and greasy. But the atmosphere is nice and relaxed, with couches, great music and super friendly service. Dritter, Dritter ! Today is the last day of our Berlin's stay, and thus my last "Dritter time" :(. We've been there each day for 7 weeks, and yet we are still charmed : it has definitely got us under its spell ! Whoever you are, you'll be welcomed warmly with the large spontaneous smile of the cool and sweet guy who runs that coffee place. Moreover, everything is bio and homemade. Café Dritter Raum was the first cafe I discovered in the neighborhood when I moved to Neukölln over a year ago. From my first visit I was instantly charmed by the cozy, homely atmosphere. The coffee is always good and the meals are tasty, albeit not the most generous of portions. The Sunday brunch buffet is always a winner, offering an array of home cooked food to fill your plate. Lastly, but not least, I have always been served with a smile if not a bit of light banter in broken English or German respectively. I often bring my visitors to Café Dritter Raum, not only for the above reasons but because it is such a classic example of an original Berliner hang out; Unpretentious, straight forward and Tatort every Sunday! read more

Had brunch here today. The food was tasty, however when paying nearly €13 per person it is extremely over-priced for what you are getting. This only includes one glass of orange and no tea or coffee. It would have been great for its original price of €7-8 but defiantly not the price it is at now. Nice courtyard to sit out the back. read more
