They were expensive, but understand they were very good. They shipped the day before, ended up going through Fed Ex. I found out the 'day of' that my shipment would not arrive in time. I had to go out and buy more - at higher prices because before Christmas. That was ok, these things happen - not sure if shipper or Tanner's saving money on Fed Ex - didn't matter, I was the customer and ordered to get this on time for Christmas eve dinner. Tanners rep was very insistent that I check and take pictures of the shipment when it arrived so they could take care of insurance. I did take pictures for them - received shipment about a week late and it smelled so bad that I had to dispose of it. The main issue was - I did get a refund but not a full refund of my USD - shorted my original amount - was 813.38 and got 790.93 less than that and no product, just the hassle of being told I will not be refunded if I did not send pictures and threatening e-mails that I must not refuse the shipment when it arrives. Issue with this company. 1. Does not refund your full amount - buyer beware - you can end up getting nothing and may not get a refund if you refuse the shipment (per company statement) 2. Small apologies - for the delay did't really care- not for the miss of the promised delivery for Christmas eve. 3. Not even a coupon or credit to buy more at a discount. 4. When it happens, they threaten you that you must take the shipment, open it up, take pictures and send or refund is null and void - even if the item was obviously 5+ days late 5. When I responded back in text and requested the payment difference on the amount -shorted (sent a picture) I received no reply to the text even though responses were very quick earlier. You may say, oh - ok, you did get a majority refund so don't complain, but the time I spent on this on the phone and e-mails back and forth was not worth the order in the first place.

I received an email with my shipping information and noticed my package was being shipped fedex standard overnight, where I live that meant my package could be delivered as late as 8pm. I emailed and asked if they could ship fedex priority overnight and they responded with a yes. That didn't happen, I was given a new tracking number that was priority overnight but the label wasn't put on the package and per fedex the priority was canceled per the shipper. There was a shipping delay on my package which more than likely would not have happened of it was shipped priority. I did not receive my package on the 7th which was a disaster because we planned on having them for dinner. The finally arrived on the afternoon of the 8th after me making several calls to FedEx and actually going to the delivery station and they called the driver and he agreed to stop his deliveries and come to my house immediately. When I got home there was my box on the porch in a plastic bag because of it leaking. After spending $1400 on the crab legs my main objective was making sure they would be edible. They were thawed, I took them and put them in a new plastic bag and put them in the deep freezer. Tanner asked if they were okay and I told them I would let them know once I take them out to eat them which will probably be next week. Since they arrived a day late my guests did not have the opportunity to try them as they left that morning. I did have insurance so the money wasn't the issue. If you spend $1400 on seafood the least they can do is give you priority shipping. I am very disappointed in Tanner and I will be looking for another company in Alaska to service my seafood needs. They did offer me a $350 credit but I won't be using it.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the shipping experience. I used their shipping service to have approximately 8 pounds of fish sent all the way to Florida, assuming it would remain frozen throughout the entire trip. When the box arrived, there was only one ice pack inside for all 8 pounds of fish. The fish was still cold, but nowhere near frozen, which was definitely concerning. There was also a significant delay in shipping. We fished on 9/3, and the package did not arrive at my door in Florida until 9/10. The dockside processing itself was extremely convenient, and I would absolutely recommend that part of the service. However, if you're flying home with your catch, I would HIGHLY recommend checking it as baggage and having it packed appropriately with dry ice rather than shipping it. That way, you have much more control over how long your fish is in transit and can hopefully ensure it stays frozen until you reach your destination.

I informed our captain that we would be utilizing Coal point fish processing so they let them know 20 minutes prior to arriving at the docs and the worker was there waiting for us to pull in to retrieve our fish. I gave him my name my number and off he went. The next day, I called in to make sure that the fish would be ready for pick up as we were heading out of Homer that afternoon. When I was ready to pick up the fish, they pulled it out of the freezer and found the best way to have it packaged to be sent home. We were not leaving till the following day and overnighting in Anchorage. As I did have a cooler with me but our fish weighed 45 pounds and with the cooler it would have been over what is allowed for a bag through the airlines without incurring overweight charges so they suggested to ship it in a box and ensure that it would stay frozen for 36 hours, which gave us enough time to overnight in Anchorage and fly home to Hawaii without being thawed. Because we arrived in Anchorage so late we did not have an opportunity to put it in a freezer overnight, but when we reached home and opened the box and cooler that Coal point had packed for us, all the fish was still rock solid. We were also staying on Homer spit so earlier in the day. I did stop by to check out the location prior to having to come back later to pick up our fish overall such a great experience and I will definitely recommend them to friends and family and also would utilize them again if I ever came back.

Thats a big problem during fishing and camping season. The store is perpetually out of things, which is a real problem when you are remote and the only choice. That is a reflection of poor management and planning. Anyone who looks at seasonal fluctuations should know what to expect. I believe what part if the problem is shipments coming to Alaska are very limited and they don't have a storage place to pull from. They, and other smaller grocers should really pull together to find a way to address this issue, because Safeway is not the only grocery that faces this problem with running short of perishable items in between shipments. Get it together guys.
