The portion size was great, everything was still hot when it arrived, and the fish was delicious and crispy. Definitely one of the better fish & chips orders I've had delivered. I can't speak on the dine-in experience since I ordered delivery, but based on the food alone, I'll absolutely order from them again. 10/10 recommend giving them a try! The restaurant appears to be taking advantage of the influx of visitors by dramatically increasing prices while eliminating the specials that many regular customers relied on. Ten wings for $20 is hard to justify, especially when Happy Hour and Wing Wednesday have disappeared entirely. What bothers me most is that the higher prices aren't being matched by a better experience. In fact, the service has been worse than ever. Long waits, inattentive staff, and an overall lack of customer care have become the norm. I understand businesses want to capitalize on major events, but there's a difference between benefiting from increased traffic and squeezing every dollar possible out of customers. The World Cup watch parties is already bringing additional business through the door. Removing customer-friendly specials and charging premium prices on top of that sends a clear message. read more

Haven't had service this disappointing in a while. Came in on a Wednesday for dinner and there were maybe 5 other tables seated when we got there. Started by ordering two drinks and appetizers. The appetizers came out fairly fast - they were so-so. We waited about 10minutes for our drinks, which honestly should have come out first before the appetizers. In fact, the whole time my husband saw our drinks sitting at the bar wondering if they were ours. We asked a waitress (ours was nowhere to be found) and turns out they were! I will also note that we weren't offered any water and had to request it. After hailing down our waitress, we ordered our wings and the roast beef sandwich, which came out fast as well. Also just so-so. Not good enough to make me want to go back again. There were a lot of people on staff and many were standing around chatting around the bar. Nothing seemed to run smoothly. We asked for extra sauce and got an affirming "You got it!" but it never came. The regular hot sauce wasn't overpowering, just a solid heat with good flavor. I really enjoyed the spicy ranch dry rub too. The tots were crispy and hot, just how they should be. Have been here twice and the wings were delicious! The sauces are tasty, as are the drinks. I really enjoyed how crisp and perfectly cooked the wings came out. The wings weren't greasy or inconsistent. Being able to order all flats made me extra happy. Even the hottest sauce was easily edible though I have insane spice tolerance. I don't know if they're understaffed or just got too big of a space. There's too many issues to count. I went on a weekday, so it was pretty slow but seemed fully staffed. Even with that, we sat for over 10 minutes before I finally asked the bartender if we had a waitress. About five minutes later, we got our drinks, which were fine. It's hard to mess up a beer on tap. The food came out quickly, but it was nothing to write home about. We ordered wings, and while they weren't terrible, Wingstop would definitely have been a better option. Now the service. There were maybe three or four tables seated and a few guys at the bar, which is where the waitresses spent most of their time. Our actual waitress barely checked on us; we had to literally flag her down each time. We ended up asking another waitress if she could grab her and let her know we were ready for the check. I mean, she was nice, so there's that I guess. Overall, the food was average, and the service was very disappointing. I give this establishment five stars for the outstanding service provided by Autumn, who has a high tolerance for "dad jokes", and for serving an authentic roast beef on Kimilwick roll sandwich. To my utter shock, this place is the real deal!! The Buffalo Wings and Beef on Wick are soooo tasty and just as good (if not better) than the original location in Buffalo, NY. Was really excited to see Anchor bar downtown but unfortunately our experience on a Saturday evening was very average. We were seated right away but the food legit took around 35-40mins to come out. Our order was fairly simple too a kids pasta, 10 original wings and a char pepperoni pizza. Once the food finally showed up everything was just OK. The wings were crispy but the original sauce was once again average. The pizza was below average. The pepperoni cups had no flavor on them whatsoever which was very bizarre. Went here today with my husband and son. We were excited to try the Anchor Bar. It was a great atmosphere inside. The service was great. We ordered their beef on weck sandwich, burger, fries and regular wings. Overall, the food was a complete let down. The wings were probably the worst we have had in Frisco, the fries were delivered lukewarm. The wings were also delivered lukewarm. The beef sandwich was actually really good. For it being a place known for their wings they did not deliver. My son did not like the burger. Clearly there was an issue with the kitchen today. There is so much competition with food in the area, you cannot have bad days, you will lose customers. I want this place to be a success, it is a great location. I hope they can improve. We will give them another chance but it will be awhile before we go back. read more

The Anchor Bar dip was surprisingly small and extremely oily. Unfortunately, the experience takes a bigger hit with the dips. Using private-label Hidden Valley ranch is a real disappointment for a wing spot, and the blue cheese is just average. I'll go back one more time and see what's changed. There were four of us. Here's the deal. First thing - drinks are ridiculously weak. Wife and I were starving, i.e. empty stomachs. I had a marg, she had a bloody. While it's not uncommon for me to feel this way, she commented to me that wow, there was nothing in that drink at all. A $14 bloody like that? Come on. My margarita mind as well have been a soft drink. Do NOT order the buffalo chicken sandwich. I don't know where they come up with the idea they have some stellar buffalo chicken sandwich but you could get as good or better from any fast food restaurant. Absolutely bland, there's not buffalo sauce, LOL, had to ask for some. The burgers are just not good. Tasted the meat myself, come on, what is this? Low grade commercial nonsense. In terms of taste, might work for a kiddie burger but don't try to pretend it's a good burger. Sheesh. The roast beef sandwich is good. Had that, no complaints. Had some wings, too. Don't get it - their original wing sauce (supposed to be medium spice) had very little taste. I'll go back and try wings again into the hot range but wow, I'm surprised they even pawned this off as buffalo sauce. The wait people ought to instruct that this is not buffalo sauce as you know it. It's just a very mild tasting (not just spice, in every way) sauce for the wings. The wing itself was decent quality, though. Next time, will ask to try a few of their sauces first. Finally, our waiter was doing the best he could. While he is busting his behind, two managers are standing around and other wait staff were not busy. This is a management issue. Wow, help the guy out so the customer's experience is decent. They need to either retrain or fire the managers. If a manager can't actually help out, or direct somebody to help out, or even recognize there's a problem, they need to be replaced. What this place needs to realize is the history of restaurants in Frisco. They need to fire on all cylinders and will make a mint. If they can only do half the things right (you're lacking on food or service or drinks), you're not going to last long. We flock to restaurants at the beginning and if the restaurant can't get up to snuff, it just vanishes. 100 more of them in a 2 mile radius. Better step up your game, folks. read more

This place just opened a few days ago but you really can't tell! The service was great and the inside is gorgeous. Lots of space here!! The menu has pizza and wings with some salads too! We went for lunch and loved that pricing. They showed me a kids menu for when we bring back our kiddos with options I'm sure mine will love. Food:Understanding this was day 4 since they've open and kitchen is still getting their sea legs. Wings were outstanding in size, Buffalo esque and had some good flavor( could be thicker on the tossed sauce), pizza logs were A+++( dare say the best I've had) , Beef on Weck was Grand Slam and I wouldn't change a thing Restaurant: Beautiful layout, plenty of space and table and even have a nice lounge and bar while you're waiting for your tables. There are ridiculously appropriate amount of TVs and is a sports fans dream. Our server Andrew was the tip of the sword! Young kid but able to talk, joke with his table while working efficiently and being knowledgeable with the menu, even with them just opening! Will be requesting him by name in the future. Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and there were a good amount of people. Was quite disappointed when the Anchor Bar Dip came very clearly broken. It was extremely oily and borderline inedible. The chips were also coated in oil. I ordered the "hotter" wings and was also quite disappointed in the heat level with these being their second hottest flavor. I've visited a few other Anchor Bar locations and always had a positive experience so I was quite disappointed with how this went. The Anchor Bar appears to be poorly managed, and I wouldn't recommend visiting until that changes. We visited The Anchor Bar for the first time on a Wednesday evening, excited to finally try their "world famous" wings. We arrived at 7:47 PM and were quoted a 40-minute wait using their text-based waitlist system. I'll note that the hostesses were very friendly, and while waiting we grabbed drinks at the bar -- the bartenders were great and the drinks were excellent. Our table was ready in about 30 minutes, which was faster than expected. However, it was confusing because roughly half the tables were empty and clean, and there were 5-7 servers standing around, so this didn't appear to be a staffing issue. Once seated, the frustration began. We waited over 10 minutes without being greeted. My wife went to the hostess stand to ask if we had a server. The hostesses apologized, and a manager who was nearby said he would find our waitress. Another 10 minutes passed with no one coming to our table. I then spoke to another manager and explained that we had been waiting 20 minutes without service. He also apologized and said someone would be right over. After another 5 minutes with still no server, we decided to leave. The entire experience was unacceptable. With multiple managers present and several servers seemingly available, it was disappointing that no one could even take a drink order. This restaurant won't be successful until the management team gets their act together. It's very unfortunate -- I still would like to try their wings someday, but not after this experience. read more

The first time I went the service was great! The following three visits are very different. I ordered online for those three and when I got there the service was either terrible or my order was off. Front desk asked for my name to get my order and just never came back. Had the manager grab it after 10 mins. Ordered a pizza with a well done bottom, it was black. I never get my extra ranch.
