Ok, so it might be considered a tad strange to review your OBGYN. Talking about your doctor,…read moreespecially your Gynecologist, is considered private subject matter for some women. It's like the Seinfeld episode when Jerry asks a few women who their personal doctor is and gets slapped in the face. That's kinda how I feel about writing this in public domain but then again, a quality doctor is so hard to find. How else will you know if they're good unless the patient reviews?? I discovered Dr. Gershowitz by way of my Uncle. I know strange but my Uncle worked for Montefiore Medical Center for almost 25 years so when it came to doctors he always had the best resources. I've been going to Dr. Gershowitz for a few years now and after some pretty crappy OBGYN experiences, she is the best. Nice bedside manner and gets down to business. Prepares and explains everything she is going to do. Is thorough in her questioning and seems genuinely concerned about her patients well being. She will always give her honest opinion as a doctor, not as someone promoting a medication. Things to know: -The office line is usually busy. Keep trying. - Expect for it to be hard to get an appointment. When you call be prepared that your appointment may be scheduled weeks or even months in advance. -They don't take debit or credit card payments under $20 so if your co-pay is less, bring cash. -Dr. Gershowitz is perpetually late and sometimes disappears after your appointment even if she wants to talk to you. Be patient, schedule at least 60-90 minutes in your own calendar for your visit. Another secret tip, Dr. Gershowitz is quite liberal with BC samples. A nice plus.

And Dr. Gershowitz used to be very warm and seemed to care about your problems, but I went in a few months ago concerned about a potential STD and she brushed off my concerns saying my symptoms were "most likely" a result of my birth control. I insisted on being tested anyway, and luckily although they did come back negative for STDs, I did have a bacterial infection that would have gotten worse if I didn't treat it. It just frustrates me that my doctor, who has supposedly been in this field for a long time, would downplay legitimate concerns and symptoms. I felt like she was in such a rush to see other patients that my concerns were being treated like I just wanted attention. Then when I called for a follow-up appointment, I was told the next available was over 2 months away. Maybe this is just a NYC thing, but it's totally ridiculous to me that someone should have to wait TWO MONTHS to take care of their health. It's great she's so popular, but maybe she should limit taking new patients so she can actually take care of the ones she already has. I'm finding another gyno that actually has time for me.

Back when her office was in the medical building on Kissena Blvd in Flushing and just having recently gotten married, she was my first Ob/Gyn. She has relocated and is now in Queens Village, and I continue to visit her. She has the most adorable grand daughter DeeDee. I have gone through so much with her, she has become family. I trust her judgement, and her expertise with the utmost respect. Although I am very friendly with many other Ob/Gyn due to shared common interests she is my one and only. It is important to mention, we have not always seen eye to eye on matters but my health, and safety were her priority. Matters of the heart were concerns but she always had my back when it came to tough issues and seeing that she was a constant in more than half of my lifetime I will listen and evaluate her recommendations carefully. Emma, her former assistant retired, and I used to occasionally bump into her while out with family but her current medical assistant Amanda (has been with Dr. Todd since moving to Queens Village) is a doll, so very kind and funny. The radiologist is a very polite and professional gentleman, and has quite a few words of wisdom. There is usually a wait to be seen in her office, but that is because she takes her time when she is with her patients. Check her schedule, there are two days out of the week that she stays late. Also keep in mind she does deliveries so if mother nature decides its' time for a new baby to meet the world...guess what, even though you have an appointment scheduled for that day chances are you will need to reschedule. Please be courteous and understanding. This helps her be the best she can be for all of us. Dr. Todd is a practical and empathetic professional. She can be forthcoming, but that is what keeps things real. I love her with all my heart, and so does my husband (even though Dr. Todd chastises him for putting me through all the pregnancies and insists he consider a snip snip on his manliness), my mom, my older daughter's god mom who does not have kids of her own and assisted in the delivery of my firstborn and of course the 5 kids she delivered. (even though Dr. Todd has suggested many times to leave the kids home when i visit, LOL.....) I love this team at Phoenix Ob/Gyn. This team of health professionals deserve high recognition for the effort and dedication they show to their patients.

We found this lady on google and went to her thinking we did the right thing because me and my fiancé wasn't sure if she was pregnant. We fount out she was and started making appointments. Dr. Todd was very rude and we was not sure where else to go because we been going to her throughout the whole pregnancy. Every visit we will wait about 1 hour and 30 minutes, just to see her for 5 minutes. We will ask questions and she will rush us out. One time my fiancé asked her if she has a cold what can she take? She said "what do you usually take when you have a cold". It was the worst experience We ever had with a doctor. She should be practicing medical because she is very unknowledgeable in that field. Me and my fiancé can't get over the fact that we actually stayed going to her. I guess because we've been going since the time we fount out about our pregnancy. But I will not recommend anyone to go to this lady she is evil and very racist towards certain clients.

Apparently they have an office policy that they implemented last January that says no patient can change doctors because it's seen as doctors stealing patients from other doctors in the practice. They even spoke with the doctor I said I didn't feel comfortable seeing again and the other female doctor about my situation and they decided that I had to keep the same doctor. I understand each office can have their own policies but this one seems a little extreme. Just a warning: Westcare Medical Primary Care places doctors ego's over patient's comfort.
