I had my yearly terrible sinus infection a couple weeks ago and was prescribed exactly what I needed, and had two, yes TWO, follow up appointments to ensure that everything was cleared up. Furthermore, Dr. Buchbinder did some blood work to find out why this happens so often. What a difference from some crappy NYC clinic that shoves a z-pak in your face and sends you on your way. I also get weekly allergy shots at her office. Her staff is very nice, and they seem to know almost everyone who comes in by name. I was honestly just so happy to find a doctor who is 1. amazing at what she does 2. a genuinely nice person and 3. in a convenient area (right near the 86th street subway). Awesome.

Almost no one (except me I guess) checks in for their appointments, the floating receptionists seem to know everyone by their face and the time they arrive. The office is small and casual, shared with another doctor, which is the reason Dr. W is only available on Wednesdays and Fridays. Despite her limited availability, it's never difficult to adjust my weekly appointment if I need to and there is hardly ever a wait. Dr. W is fast with the shots and has a dry sense of humor that you can pick up if you manage to strike up a conversation in the 2 minutes it takes her to get you in and out. Although I look forward to the time when I can reduce and then completely stop my shots, I'm very happy going to Dr. Weichenberg in the meanwhile.

She makes me feel as though I am part of every medical test, diagnosis and treatment strategy, I am never just a patient on the table being worked on. When possible, I am offered (and have always used with great success) alternative medicine. I thought she was as good as doctors get. And then I had a baby and she took him as a patient and I saw a whole new level of greatness. She had such a motherly, soothing way with my son, and a reassuring and encouraging way with me as a new mother. All while being very straight forward, never dropping the doctor role. I will continue to pay skyrocketing insurance rates to remain in her care. Lourdes is wonderful, always smiling and happy to take your call. If the only con is the waiting room, I believe the con is negated with Doctor S's approach to emergency calls. When my son was 3 months old he woke with a fever at 4:30 am. Doctor S took my call and talked me down. When I saw her the next day she remembered my baby's fever to a tenth of a degree. I was impressed and continue to be. Her bedside manner is awful and the wait times ridiculous. As a 15 year old she charged me $50 I couldn't afford for cancelling the day before an appointment . So she's allowed to make you wait for hours but if you need a concession to her extremely strict cancellation policy she's heartless. Despite her always booking way too many patients in a day anyway. It's all about the money for her. If you have Medicaid or Medicare she will treat you like garbage. I've had far better doctors over the years and I will never forget the way she treated me and my family.

Horrible Horrible doctor!…read more Where should I start? My leg was hurting due to varicose veins and I went to him for medical advice and to see if anything could be done with my veins. Upon my first visit, I waited two hours to see him. Before I saw him, I met his assistant. She was documenting my answers from her questions, basic questions. She apologized that I had to wait that long but I recall telling her "its okay" (I have patience). Upon the doctors arrival, he asked the same questions as his assistant and asked me to point out the problematic areas, which I did. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about. His bedside manners are VERY horrible; however, he got straight to the point on what I need to do for the future and what needed to be done then. I don't want to go into detail about my surgery with Dr. Schneider for a variety of reasons and to put it in simple words, this asshole did not do exactly what he was supposed to and left me with a lot of pain. His resident came in first to take my history. As a physician myself, I know this is how residents learn. The resident discussed my case and reviewed my scans with Dr. Schneider which took awhile, as I expected. Dr. Schneider was polite, detailed in his assessment,and medically knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and made appropriate recommendations. I will return for the follow up visit. Dr.Schneider is the Chief of Vascular surgery, he is highly qualified, I definitely would recommend him for vascular problems.

Yes, he's quirky but knows his stuff and is one of those brilliant but socially "different" kind of guys. He does see a gazillion patients a day, but that is why you do not wait 3 weeks to see him, and that causes the dreaded wait. Bottom line: I trust Dr. Isaacs to find out what's wrong with me and give me the best treatment for it. UPDATE: wait has improved a bit and now there is a PA on days you don't need diagnostic brilliance. The decision be part of NYU system seems to have been a good one. Update to Update: Sseems like he is breaking up with NYU, and moving up Broadway a little bit.
