I SWEAR ALL GOOD REVIEWS ARE LEGIT AND SOLID!!!…read more Dr. Ghodsian is not just a doctor -- he's an incredible human being who genuinely does his absolute best. I have another surgery scheduled with him, and I trust him completely, without a single doubt. I didn't need to explain much -- I simply shared my symptoms, and he truly listened and cared since the first second that i entered to his room. He's the ONLY doctor who ever really paid attention to what I was saying. I've seen others who performed all sorts of procedures without truly listening or caring about how I felt (Honestly, I could name them so others know who to avoid -- but let's focus on the one who actually deserves recognition). These days, it's rare to find a doctor who prioritizes your well-being over money. But this one does -- he actually wants to help you feel better. I'm beyond grateful to have him in my life. I trusted the recommendation of my friends and Yelp reviews, and I'm so glad I did. He is hands down one of the BEST DOCTORs out there.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Nowain. I went in for a colonoscopy based on his great reviews…read moreand my consultation I had with him. I had previously chosen another doctor but cancelled after speaking to Dr. Nowain because he was head and shoulders better. He was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and reassuring. I had several other friends that highly recommended him. On the day of my procedure, Dr. Nowain was punctual and very comforting as he could tell I was nervous. He has an excellent bedside manner to go with his skills and credentials. The procedure went perfectly, and the doctor was right next to me when I woke up to discuss the results and share pictures with me. All in all, this was an amazing experience with an excellent doctor and I'm glad I did it. I highly recommend this doctor to everyone else. I have very high standards and I'm extremely picky and Dr. Nowain met and surpassed all my expectations. To everyone over age 40, please get colonoscopies. A 30 minute procedure could save your life. And better yet, get it with Dr. Nowain. The research I did showed he was much more effective at catching cancerous polyps than his contemporaries.

I'm keeping my original review for continuity. This update is to show, using my own documentation,…read morehow biased and prejudicial language in medical notes can permanently distort a patient's credibility and access to care. I count myself lucky I met my new GI doctor, although treatment is complicated now because of my worsening injuries. Over the past four years I've had time to study what happened, review my records, and talk with professionals who helped me understand how the bias in my care took shape. The pain I was in left me cognitively impaired for a long time, which made it hard to see how dismissive the treatment really was while it was happening. Because of the wording used in my chart -- phrases like "patient is convinced" and "very likely psychosomatic" -- it's very likely the kind of language that led other doctors to dismiss my concerns and assume the problem was psychological. My injuries worsened, the connective tissue in my abdomen continued to tear, and I lost muscle support through my torso. A genetic condition was also upregulated and my skin permanently traumatized. That language still follows me through my medical record and continues to influence how I'm treated. Nearly four years later, I'm still trying to recover from my injury and the physical and psychological damage caused by dismissive, biased documentation and the prejudice that began in this office. I'm including Dr. Nowain's original notes, and other records that corroborate both the intense pain I was really in, the celiac artery compression and soft tissue damage, and the continual gaslighting using prejudicial language to dismiss my accounts and leave me in pain and suffering. These are all before the injury worsened. I can still hear Dr. Nowain's voice from that day in his office -- angry, certain: "You're having a panic attack!" When I said I wasn't, he replied, "That sounds just like something someone having a panic attack would say." It still plays in my head like I heard it yesterday. So, I guess there's only one thing left to say. Best of luck in all your health journeys, and remember: "One foot in front of the other, bravely forward. Always."

Dr. Shin and his staff (Dianne) are the best Colorectal facility in Los Angeles. I saw about 9…read moredoctors in LA for chronic pain I had been experiencing for over 16 months. Other doctors in LA spent little time and after a hand check told me that it was something I would have to live with forever. Dr. Shin was the first doctor that did not accept this answer and went above and beyond to give me a diagnosis. Dr. Shin took ample time during my doctors visit to make sure I understood what was happening. He drew diagrams and explained in detail I could never imagine. He did not rush me and for the first time, I felt heard. By the time I reached Dr. Shin, I had had 4 failed surgeries with two other doctors. These doctors would not listen to my continued expression of discomfort and said it was chronic pain and would have to live with it. Dr. Shin was the first doctor to actually listen and dig deeper. When he saw me, I could tell he cared. After an examination under anesthetics, Dr. Shin was able to pinpoint something that was able to be cured with surgery. After my surgery, he went downstairs and spoke with my mom (who had to fly in and help me do day to day things as it became that severe). He sat with my mom for a while as he explained what he found and how I can properly take care of myself after surgery. He took his time, not rushing her, allowing her to take handwritten notes so she did not forget. My other surgeons did not speak to me nor my mother after surgery. They left and one of them I was unable to get in touch with for 12 days after surgery, in which time I had complications which is when I found Dr. Shin. Dr. Shin is truly the best thing that has ever happened to my health. In addition to Dr. Shin, his staff is beyond incredible. Dianne is very punctual in her communication and very polite. When visiting his office, the nurses who check me in also are very kind and approachable. His entire staff is amazing. I am so thankful for finding this office as my life has been very challenging due to this condition. I would not recommend him more and I could honestly go on and on. Best, Justin M

I had the worst experience with their Pasadena location. I went in for a first-time consultation…read morewith Dr Christine Hsieh where she gave me her opinions of my options. I paid my co-pay in full upon exiting. I even received a paid invoice showing a zero balance. Three weeks later, I was shocked to receive a bill for over $500 for the same visit -- this time from the facility where I saw the doctor. Then, about seven weeks later, I received a threatening notice from the doctor's office claiming I owed $5 more for the visit and that they would send me to collections over that amount. They added random charges, and harass patients even after payment is made and receipts are provided. I've never experienced such unethical billing practices from any medical provider. Be extremely cautious if you plan to visit her office -- keep every receipt, question every charge, and be prepared to fight for what you've already paid

I'm really confused who is writing positive reviews, maybe people who has better insurance!…read more Because from my personal experience I've been treated not as nicely as reviews say. The overall experience at the doctor office was alright, but the staff who works there probably weren't interested in helping. Doctor was very nice and helpful. But the staff... To get a prescription it's was a total nightmare for me. The receptionist was telling me that she sent the prescription several times , but my pharmacy never received anything and they had to call several times to request it. Long story short eventually I have to request the actual prescription so I can do it myself. I was in pain for a week in a half. Also, doctor said I need to get colonoscopy and that I need to schedule it myself by emailing the doctor or she maybe will contact me myself. I emailed several times to the email that receptionist provided me, no response, I called left two messages , haven't received a call back. I called again a day ago and finally spoke with her. She advised that email is no longer valid ‍ Also she has a waitlist going on and if I don't have cancer it might be take a month or longer during Covid situations , which is understandable. But turn after linger conversation, I found out maybe it will be a week and she hasn't even requested an authorization yet. I asked her why and she said " well it's not urgent " I'm not sure what that means , but I'm in pain for few weeks already and can't even get a medicine either. While writing a review I received a call from receptionist if I want to be on a waitlist for a procedure and if I received the prescription ( that I need to bring myself (9 times walking to a pharmacy)) She said she doesn't know what's been going on , but maybe it's an error on pharmacy end. From my personal experience worth CVS pharmacy in West Hollywood they were pretty amazing about receiving prescription from different doctors for me and never had issues. I think I would trust a pharmacy then a doctor's office. Because it was more errors on their end. Probably after this review they might remove me from a list , but I'm hopeful and hopefully they will keep on the list. I'm not sure if I want to go through this experience again, where staff doesn't really care about patients.
