Analog Record Shop is a smaller record shop in the Tustin area that is packed with amazing finds! This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots with street parking available as well. Inside, they have a smaller space but still a lot of crates to dig through. Their selection is very organized by genres and artists. They also have a good amount of records in their new arrivals and sale crates. The records are priced fairly here and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Some of the cool finds I spotted in my musical wheelhouse were Cigarettes After Sx, Durand Jones & The Indications, Pop Smoke, and Daft Punk. Went here a couple of times to look for records and I always came out with something. The store is small and lively. They have a wide variety of genres to cater for everyone's needs. Everytime that I went, the person behind the desk was nice! The lady behind the counter even helped me choose between different record players that I've had my eyes on for a while. Fantastic record shop. They sell plenty of used vinyl, and new LPs. I found some nice jazz, soul, and some Latin treats. Looked trendy at the beginning but there's some depth here. You have to dig and get your fingers dusty! I wish they had more 12" singles but I'll be back. The young lady behind the counter was very helpful. They have some nice turntables for sale too! Thinking about this store evokes sentiment from my tender heart. Analog packs a remarkable selection of good tunes in one of the coziest spots I have seen in my life, my life, my life. Why so cozy? In a word: drawers. This store relies on many well placed, space saving drawers that allow the owner to store even more records beneath the usual bins that most stores use to display the vinyl. The choice of the drawers speaks to the overall quality of the layout. One of the better organized and run music spots I have bought tunes from. The owner keeps this place immaculate. I appreciate the prices here too. Most all vinyl priced fairly and priced thoughtfully. Most of the sought after or popular records were priced to sell, and I noticed the owner answered customers' questions in a polite and informative manner. I am not sure any one analogy truly does the music shop justice. A go see for the music connoisseurs. read more

My first time here was when when they had their grand opening. I was excited to see a small record shop come to Tustin but it's so small that if there are more than 5 people browsing, it's simply too crowded to shop. I have stopped in another handful of times and it's a great place to kill time but I never find anything I want to buy. If you like new music and want new records that are factory sealed, that is what you will find. If you are looking for rare finds or used vinyl there isn't much available and good luck trying to find something specific in the used section because it isn't organized alphabetically or anything as it will likely be a part of their "bargain" collection. They also sell players and speakers and such but I have never seen anything on display. You might have to ask whomever is behind the counter if you're in the hunt for something like that. read more

Had a great first visit here today. Andrew was friendly and helpful and knew and cared about music. It's a medium-sized store and wisely doesn't try to have everything, but there was plenty of cool stuff to look through. What was most noticeable to me was the pricing of used records. Records wildly overpriced ($15 - $20) in my neck of the woods were fairly priced at about $5 or $6 here. I also bought two from the $1 section that sound and play beautifully. One of them sounds way better than the same record I recently paid $20.00 for. read more

Small shop, but good vibe, packed with variety, and a personable staff. Also on the wall for helping pay the rent were a collection of two Teac Reel to Reel 7" decks, various vintage class A/B amplifiers (Pioneer, Marantz, the usual 70's suspects), and a row of various turntables, some vintage, others new (the same belt driven models you see elsewhere). The turntables were selling for I thought high prices (some in the $500 range), but then again they have a captive audience and may stand behind it with some kind of return/exchange policy. To my pleasant surprise and frugal nature, I exited the store with 23 records from their boxes on the floor for $70. There are tons there they will let go for $1 or $2, and a number of others they are understandably more proud of. Since I only recently got heavy into vinyl again, I haven't got my inventory done so I was nervous about getting duplicates and elected to return again. It's easy to miss as you drive down the road, so keep an eye out. They also had a nice collection of vintage speakers which they were using as they played records. Highly recommended. Imagine a tiny tiny 'Top Ten Record Store' (R.I.P.). Music selection has all genres. Most well known records can be found new or used and outer sleeve included. I like that. The popular stuff of today's times and times of yesteryear's classics can be yours for market price. The records sold are all in mint to very good condition. Otherwise check the cheap-o bins. There's many. However the record pickings are slim for techno, jungle, gabber, heavy metal, grindcore, crust, thrash, experimental, early electronic, musak, breakdance, bluegrass, hardcore punk, roots reggae, and cassette / 8 track tapes. (Note: 8 track sounds better than you think, especially quadraphonic!) I dig the selection of turntables, receivers, speakers, seperates, and other awesome gear. Attempted to go here to buy records on 3 occasions during daylight hours and each time I was greeted with a locked door and a sign that said "Back in 30 minutes" which is not helpful at all because I don't know what time the 30 minutes started. Whoever is running this place is failing big time. In order to be successful in retail you want to be open so humans can give you their money. Locked doors during the middle of the day is generally not good for the bottom line. I wanted to check this place out, but I give up.
