Being a bellman on the strip for over 40 years has taken a toll on my back, shoulders, elbows & knees. Dr. Burke has always had the knowledge for the best treatment to keep me healthy and still able to perform my work duties. Before I had first gone to Dr. Burke I was very skeptical of chiropractors, but his treatments made a firm believer of me & why I stayed under his care for almost 35 years.

The office is clean and the staff is very nice. If there is anyone I hear of that needs a chiropractor I recommend him. He is located in the center of town, which isn't close to me at all-but it is worth the drive. My daughters get jealous when I don't take them with me every time. Which says a lot- because they don't like to go to their appointments to their other doctors! Anyways I'm a total believer in Dr. Burke!

He uses his own hands and body to manipulates and adjusts my neck and back in such a way that no other chiropractors have. He must know the patient's anxiety about neck adjustment. He first asked me if I was OK with a neck adjustment before he touched me. His neck adjustment is heavenly. Dr. Cohen has Palmer School style practices in his basic style; AND plus, plus, plus. He does not simply repeat the same pattern of adjustment. He always asks me to find out where my discomfort is and how it came about. Then, he applies the special adjustment pattern to tackle my problem. Dr Cohen looks relatively young. But, his knowledge and experience seem to me far, way beyond his looks. Don't be fooled by his looks. He is the bright shining star in this industry. Also, Gerardo at Canyon Lake is a splendid stretch therapist who loosened me up enough so that I was able to begin my old stretch methods. Gerardo is my star light. All in all, this place is a collection of the STARS. Canyon Lake is the nice discovery for my old body. 84.

I usually get an appointment for after work and doctor Corey has been who I have been seeing. A handful of times throughout the years I have thrown out my lower back. My lower back going out in the earlier years would only last for about a week. Then about two years ago, it was out for two weeks. This year, it was out for three weeks. Nothing seemed to be happening treatment wise. I couldn't roll over on the table. When I got off of the table, I hit the wall and was stuck there with back spasming pain for about three minutes. Doctor Corey sent me for an MRI of the lumbar area because something was definitely wrong. I do like this place mostly because of the sports therapy that is offered. For example, my lower back pain is mostly caused from my hamstring muscles being too tight and that pulls on your lower back. That Stim treatment with the giant heating pad is a game changer. I do wish that instead of ten minutes, it was more like twenty minutes. When you have extreme lower back pain, laying face down on the massage like treatment table feels relieving. This last time with the heating pad, Stim, and laying face down on the table I found myself taking a nice nap. When that ten minute timer went off and woke me up I was like, "Damn it!" I did ask if yoga was a good idea and Corey said definitely. I have been doing the yoga and found out that I am nowhere near limber. It does help quite a bit though. I have sent many people over the years to this place for treatment and have heard nothing but positive feedback.

My insurance coverage allows twenty visits and my co-payment is $30.00. (I used to pay out of pocket on my Chiropractic care, thousands of dollars!) I hurt the right side of my neck a couple of weeks ago (I couldn't lift my right arm without feeling pain), and then my lower back, also the right side, was in so much pain, that I felt it with each step (did a bunch of things, such as icing it for 20 min, took a few pain pills- it's just temporary, and it was almost better, just not 100%). I carry a heavy bag, and sometimes my dog pulls me when I walk her. I also did a bunch of different squats last friday night. So I hadn't been here in a while but I did love going on the stretching machine with ice, low pressure, though. And a few minutes later, I saw the doc, told him what was going on, he used a big tool, up and down my back for a few minutes, he felt the tightness, and did some work on my neck and back. My back felt better. He said I might need another adjustment next week. I really like the doc and the staff is very nice too. Trying to get back to my active lifestyle but coming here helps.

This is a long overdue recommendation for Dr. Wise. He completely improved the pain and issues I…read morewas having during my second pregnancy. With his adjustments I was able to feel great for the majority of my pregnancy. Dr. Wise came highly recommended by two friends and seems to be "the guy" you want to see for chiropractic care during pregnancy. I was very nervous to see a chiropractor for the first time, but was assured he specializes in working with pregnant patients. This is a family run business. Dr. Wise is doing adjustments, his wife is often at the front desk, and sometimes their daughter is there too. It's not just family run, it's family friendly. I was encouraged to bring my daughter with me which made my visits much more convenient. They even have a little play area for the kids that my daughter loved. Lots of their patients bring children with them. The first appointment is longer since it's an assessment. It was maybe 45 minutes? Regular appointments are fast which makes it easier to fit into any schedule. Scheduling was really easy to do at the end of each appointment or by phone. They are easy to reach by phone if needed. They don't take insurance, but adjustments are affordable. I purchased adjustments 10 sessions at a time which saved a significant amount per session. It came out to $30 per adjustment. Dr. Wise really cares about his patients and takes the time to discuss any concerns you might have. He's a more natural minded person and I loved getting his thoughts on all kinds of health issues. He gave me a lot of information that led to me doing my own research at home. My visits here were part of the reason I'm exploring holistic and functional medicine. I was leery about chiropractic care, but now I'm a believer. I was having awful tailbone pain and sciatica pain in early pregnancy. Even with just the first adjustment the pain was significantly decreased. After my second adjustment it was gone. Gone! I could not believe how quickly I felt better. I continued weekly for the rest of my pregnancy and felt great. I also continued because my baby was breech. I can't prove it was my adjustments that did it, but she turned at 32/33 weeks. I was so thankful. If you find yourself in need of chiropractic care I'd highly recommend Dr. Wise!
