Went to Lavish salon for the "curly haircut". Sabrina was so sweet. She took the time to explain…read moreeverything to me, step by step. Everything she was doing and why, and every product she used and it's benefits. Although I left with my hair about 4 inches shorter than I would have preferred, my curls are shiny and healthy with the curliest spirals and full of bounce. The salon itself was clean and decorated well. Staff was pleasant. I was offered a water bottle while I sat under the dryer. I will be back based on the location, prices, and staff. But this time I'll be sure to voice better that I want my hair LONG and not short!

During the appointment, the hair dryer was so hot that it burned my daughter's ears. My daughter is extremely shy and tends not to speak up when something hurts or makes her uncomfortable. She didn't say anything while we were there, but after we left, she burst into tears, and that was when I realized her ears had been burned. I did not bring it to the salon's attention because we had already left when I became aware of what had happened. Despite that experience, I decided to give the salon another chance and brought her in to have braids done by the owner. From the moment we arrived, we felt unwelcome. She did not introduce herself, and when she asked what we wanted, her facial expression and attitude immediately made us feel like we were bothering her. We wanted braids that formed into buns, but because of the attitude we received from the jump, I was honestly afraid to even ask for any type of intricate braiding design. I already felt uncomfortable asking for anything beyond something simple. My daughter was in tears throughout the appointment. I asked her what was wrong and specifically informed the stylist that she is tender-headed. I then sat there watching her rip through my daughter's fine, curly hair with a small rat tail comb, pulling through knots rather than gently detangling them. It caused so much breakage. While doing this, she proceeded to tell me that my daughter "didn't have curly hair," all while combing through her curls in a way that seemed to create even more tangles. I was also left standing there for about five minutes before another employee - not the owner - came over and offered me somewhere to sit. The actual braiding took roughly 10 minutes and felt incredibly rushed. There was no attention to detail, and it felt like she was speeding through my daughter's hair because we were a burden and she wanted us out of her chair. After seeing my daughter in tears, you would think she would take a gentler approach. We paid $80 plus a tip for a hairstyle that does not look professionally done and an experience that once again ended with my daughter in tears. What bothers me most isn't even the money. It's that I gave this salon a second chance after what happened during her first visit, only for my daughter to have another upsetting experience. A child should be able to sit in a salon chair and feel comfortable, cared for, and safe.

I booked an 11:00 AM appointment on a Tuesday morning…read more The spa space is in the basement level of a single family home. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment time and was welcomed right in by Elena. I booked the combo of a gel manicure/ gel pedicure/ massage and a hydrating facial. I would rate the services as follows: Gel manicure 10/10 Gel pedicure 10/10 Massage 7/10 (I'm spoiled) Facial 9/10 The space was inviting and relaxing and Elena is so friendly. Offering me cold water and snacks and always checking in to make sure I'm happy / comfortable. I can't wait to make the mani / pedi / facial combo a regular thing!

At 12:30pm the day of the massage, 30 mins before as I am on my way, she texted me that it would need to now be at 1:30 or 2pm. I texted her back and told her that would not work, I was on my way already, and that I had a virtual doctors appointment scheduled for 2:20pm, but figured because it was a 60 min massage that it would be no issue. I get there before 1pm and she answers the door and tells me she won't do 1pm anymore. And that because Groupon takes a percentage my massage only pays her $55 and she doesn't care if she doesn't do my massage. Why would you sign your business up for Groupon if you don't get paid enough for your service through it and then make the customer feel bad for even purchasing it? I am currently unemployed, but having some of the worst back pain of my life and waited two weeks patiently to be able to get this massage to provide some relief. I put a lot of thought into purchasing something like this for myself because of my circumstance. I wasted gas to get here for nothing. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.

They require a 30% TIP!!! and tell you that after massage when paying! on 4/4/2025 at 2:15 pm I…read moretook my granddaughter there. each of us to receive an hour massage ($70 each so $140.00 total). the service was less than mediocre (Ive been going to these types of massage places for years -usually very good)and there were 3 interruptions where my masseuse left the room to greet customers coming in the door and then to answer the phone in addition to a lame massage. I paid $140 and then offered $5 tip for each- she then requested very aggressively, while pointing to papers hanging on the wall that they required a "30%" tip of the charge and that I owed her $40 more for the tip. I questioned her on it and she became very aggressive and fiery saying it was required. I did not wish for a scene w/my granddaughter and wished to leave this hostile woman so I gave the $40 tip. please know that this place charges 30% tip on top of their massage charge which is illegal. There are countless of these types of places that are sooo much better. I have no complaints on any of all the others I have tried over the years. I left a google review after the massage but in order to do a Yelp review I had to find out what the name of the business was through the MA Secretary of State- the storefront says YING SPA, although they are registered as "Seekonk Day Spa" -it is located at 751 Fall River Ave Seekonk- I will be making a complaint with the Mass AG now that I have the Business Name.
