I can't quite believe my good fortune in discovering this salon! I first noticed that one of my dear friends had an amazing new haircut, but somehow it took me years to finally make it in myself. I'm so glad I did. I've now had three cuts here, working with two different artists, Amy and Nicole, and I've been thrilled every time. Both listened carefully to what I wanted and worked with me to create a cut that really suited me. The results have been stunning--I've honestly never gotten so many compliments on my hair before. My mother also came in and had a wonderful experience with another stylist, so clearly the talent runs deep here. I'm including photos because many of the salon photos I'd seen featured women with long hair, and I especially want people to know how extraordinarily good they are with shorter hair. Amy and Nicole are absolute artists with a short cut. Warm, welcoming, incredibly skilled--and they really listen. This place is absolutely a cut above! read more

Love love love it! Finally was able to book an appointment at Amy's Salon and I was super excited to get my much needed haircut! Eleni was wondering! She listened to exactly how I wanted my hair cut. I wanted to get layers and to have the option to style it straight or curly and to keep the length. She washed, cut and blow dried my hair for 65$ which is a pretty good price for the amazing haircut and service! I especially enjoyed the incredible scalp massage as she was washing my hair. She took her time and made it extra special! What a treat! She was very nice and gentle with my hair and I knew I was in good hands. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed and I can't wait to come back! I will definitely rebooking with Eleni! read more

I've been going to Amy's for over 10 years. That is the best recommendation I could give :) The salon is cute and modern, all the staff are friendly and professional, and most importantly, the quality of the work is outstanding. I am always happy with the cut! Before finding Amy's I changed salons pretty frequently, but I'm happy to say that I've found my forever salon read more

I get my regular hair trims from Renee for my fine layered, wavy hair. She was my stylist for years dating back to her last salon where Amy also worked. Renee is professional, talented and a pleasure to talk with. Everyone at this lovely salon is friendly and welcoming. I am fortunate to be able to walk to Amy's Salon and the parking is easy if I drive. read more

I've been going to Amy for over a decade and I can attest that she is professional and gives a great haircut. Their shop is warm and welcoming and everyone there is friendly. They have great products to buy, but not too many to make it confusing. I can't imagine anyone else to cut my hair! read more

Absolutely love Amy's Salon! Worked with both Amanda and Nicole. Amanda does my cut and color, and Nicole did an absolute showstopper of a style for a 1920s party I went to. Nicole has also done cut and color for my son. I get compliments on my color at least once a week, and it hardly fades at all between appointments. The studio is clean and well lit, and the communication with customers is great. They take credit cards, but tips are cash or Venmo only. Tip well! They deserve it. :) read more

I've been going to Samantha for years and even followed her to New Hampshire!! Today was told because she double booked, she wouldn't have time to do a new color (nothing outrageous) and I could only do my "usual" color. We've been talking for awhile about me going red. Couldn't rebook me for a time where she could do a new color change-said I needed to make a note in my record that I wanted something different. Never had a stylist that couldn't change a color without being told ahead of time. Because I was running 10 minutes late to my two hour cut and color appointment, I said I would give up the haircut to make time for the color. I was still told no-couldn't reschedule (she's going on leave and couldn't squeeze me in another time), couldn't do the color, couldn't do color without cut. I took time off for this appointment. They were talking about me when I walked in-that's pretty unprofessional. Will be finding a new stylist. Funny how 7 hours after I posted my review, two new accounts posted about Samantha after very few had mentioned her previously. Clearly reviews by her/the business. Do better! Because Amy decided to respond (1/17/2025...almost a month after my original post), I'm updating my review. When Sam called, I was 1 minute away from the salon. I can prove it too with maps indicating my location at 10 mins past my appointment. As we talked, in person, she literally was counting down the minutes. First it was 1:40, then 1:42, then 1:43. It was only after I refocused the conversation to finding a solution that she offered me another stylist on another day. At that point, there's no reason not to find a new stylist, which is what I did. In regards to talking about me-I walked in and she said, "shhh, this is her. I've talked to other stylists who have said this wouldn't have been a problem for them, so I will continue to take my business there. read more

This is a very special place! Nicole is extremely talented and she totally transformed me. The salon makes you so comfortable from the moment you enter it. They make certain your comfort is in the forefront from the very comfortable shampoo sinks ...complete with foot rest and scalp massage! They are a very entertaining group who know the customer comes first. Love this place! 12/21/2019 I need to update because this salon is so special, I spent 2 hours today being beautify and watched EVERY stylist connect with their customer and make their visit memorable They are so genuine and I watched a stylist give a master class to a young client on how to maintain her new cut and color. She taught her how to blow dry and gave her options mindful of her budget! Nicole is my gifted stylist ! . read more

I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff at Amy's. They have been doing a great job cutting my teen's very long hair for a couple of years. We recently had a hair emergency and the whole staff went above and biting to help her, even staying late to make sure her hair was in good condition again. The folks at Amy's are not only talented but kind, and we are extremely grateful for their care and dedication to their clients. read more

A five-star salon all the way. I've never had such consistently fabulous hair as the couple of years I've been cared for by Nicole. I can go a week without styling or washing my hair and still get compliments. She's a total pro. And during the pandemic, Amy went above and beyond to stay in touch and personally deliver products to those of us who needed them. This salon is primo! read more

This is the first place I got my haircut since moving to MA. I will be returning. I was 100% happy with my cut. I get so scared when I move to find a new salon so I was lucky to find Amy's and love it. Good prices for a nice salon. Not over the top. I definitely recommend. read more

Not only are the stylists who work here super nice and down to earth ladies but they really do work miracles for hair cutting, coloring and styling! I have thin baby fine lifeless hair from birth and Nicole not only knew what to do for me with my cut, color and styling but she also made it easy for me to achieve salon results at home when I style it! I have never felt so good about my hair and self as I do since Nicole took over my hair maintenance! If you are going anywhere else other than Amy's Salon your doing yourself a great disservice. Try Amy's and you'll never go anywhere else read more

Just had my 3rd or 4th visit here and wanted to share. I see Samantha. She loves what she does. She has fun with it and listens to you about what you want. I go in with a picture of a cut and some color ideas, and spends the time getting it perfect. Covid times -- very safe -- you wait in your car, they call you, they take your temp when you come in , you wash your hands. Every other chair is closed so no one is sitting next to you directly. Everyone is masked, place is (and always was) very clean. Basics - you can book on the phone or online -- if you make an account, all of your info is in there about when you went and what you had done. If you're needing a cut, give them a call. read more

I just took my daughter here for a hair cut. We had never been to Amy's Salon but a friend recommended it. Amanda cut my daughters hair and it looks amazing! She listened, asked questions, was super helpful and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her. Staff also very pleasant. read more

Amy is the best! She's been doing my hair since (well forever) and I've never had a stylist who is so in tune with my hair and personal preferences. She remembers EVERYTHING (and not just about your hair), so she's able to advise about what will and won't work. Plus she's just a genuine and lovely gal, and it shows in the ambience of the shop-everyone who works there is super-friendly and one is more competent than the next. It's like a family. I have to add that Amy is meticulous, and has gone over and above regarding Covid safety precautions. I've never felt at risk there (which is no small feat). You can't go wrong at Amy's! read more

I came to the salon hoping to mix up my color a bit. Nicole always does an amazing job with the cut and color. She is great about talking through the options and making sure we are on the same page with what we're doing. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair before! Nicole is so knowledgeable and talented, and she's a joy to sit and talk to!! I won't be going anywhere else! read more

Move over, that character from Gone Girl, because this Amy's is Amazing! Colleen washed, cut, and blow-dried my hair today, and I left with a lot of knowledge about how to maintain the look she created. She is an excellent listener; she asked what I wanted and paraphrased what I had said to make sure. I was so impressed with the service and pleasantly surprised at the price. read more

I absolutely love coming here. Amy must be a great employer since everyone that works for her are always so nice and happy to see you. She's also always there and offering you something to drink as soon as you get there, even if she's tending her own customers. My girl is Nicole and she's fantastic! As soon as you sit down, she gives you this unbelievable head massage after she shampoos and conditions your hair. You are in la la land when she's doing this to you. And it's not one of those teaser massage where you go "that's it?"....oh no, it's full on satisfaction. Then the haircut begins. I always bring a picture with me. Nicole will look at it for a few seconds, then say "okay, that's perfect for you". Then she does her magic. What I love about her cut is that I don't need a hairdryer or brush to style my hair. I simply let it air dry, use a little Argan oil to set it in place, maybe a spritz of hairspray, then Voila it's done. I love how it looks when it's completely dry. I am currently vacationing in Amsterdam. It's early morning here and so I'm just enjoying my coffee. But I thought I'd write this review because I've been here a week and I haven't yet used the hairdryer the Airbnb owner had provided for me. I haven't needed it because it's styled perfectly without me doing anything to it. Thank you. I'm loving my haircut Nicole. I'm not sure why Arlington is such a hotbed for salons, but it is. There are so many in this town and I've gone to quite a handful of them over the years. So for those of you who are not completely satisfied with your hairdresser, or you're new to the neighborhood, give Amy a call. You won't be disappointed. And Nicole and Amy, if you're reading this, greetings to the both you from across the pond. You ladies are amazing. Simply put, you give the BEST haircut in Arlington! read more

Easily the best cut and color I've had in years. My hair was in a bad state and Samantha is a miracle worker. She went above and beyond and I'll definitely be back. read more

I never write reviews but I had a truly amazing experience. Sarah was very thoughtful and kind about the color and highlights I wanted to do with my hair. She asked me many questions and allowed me the time to answer, things that a lot of hair stylists don't do and that typically result in a not so happy customer. Sarah was wonderful to talk to, and this is coming from an introvert that stresses about salon small talk. I came to Amy's Salon after seeing two hairstylists in Boston that charged me $300/$400 for cuts and colors on my short hair that only looked good for a month. Sarah was able to work with hair that had been through a lot and go beyond making it look just ok. I cannot recommend this place enough! I've finally found a good salon with good prices and amazing staff. read more
