The place didn't smell too pleasant though and I had second thoughts but was too lazy to try drive somewhere else. After I told the person in the front what massage I wanted, he tried putting me in the same space with someone else getting a massage and that was a no no for me. For a cheaper foot massage in a foot massage business like this, I understand a private room is not always available. After I let it be known I'm not comfortable with the shared space, he did oblige and had a private room for me because it was early afternoon during the week. Now to the massage, it wasn't really that good. The techniques were repetitive and didn't really get the job done as much as I wanted it to. I did get the lowest end massage so maybe that's a factor? Not sure but as a first impression wasn't too impressed by the overall quality of the massage. I do give the masseuse credit, I can tell she put in effort and I appreciate that. Just, the techniques/style wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. Maybe they have a better masseuse but I really don't feel like gambling for more misses than hits.

I was maybe overly optimistic that I could communicate what I wanted in the session and most of it went ignored. The first thing that happened was she dug into my temples so hard I thought to myself that it was a lethal amount of pressure and I'm not even exaggerating. Google it online about pressing into someone's temples. I was bruised for a few days after. Then, she stuck her fingers in my ears and pulled my head up toward the top of the table. In what world is that a therapeutic or comfortable sensation? It was borderline violating. The rest of the massage I was on guard trying to guide her to stay away from an injured part of my body and to manage the pressure so I could tolerate it. I honestly felt like I had to survive the session rather than focusing on enjoying it. I should've just ended it as soon as it started. I really hope the owners can understand that not everybody wants rolfing and there has to be different levels of massage intensity. Let's start with basic language- soft, medium, hard pressure. Moving forward I've decided that I'm only going to licensed sports massage professionals.
