I came here the other day for a pedicure and shellac manicure. When the girl was grating off the calused part of my foot, she took a chunk of my skin off. I started bleeding and it wouldn't stop. Now, i know it was an honest mistake and she was sorry about it, my problem was how they handled it. She spoke her language with some other technician (no idea if that was the manager) and put a bandaid on it. The manager didn't come to me, nor did anything, no one seemed to care she had accidentally done this. Just a 'oh so sorry' and continued along after putting a band aid on. Afterwards I got a shellac manicure, but the manicure is soooo bumpy, so many bubbles and not evenly done (like it wasn't painted evenly) It kind of sucks because I've heard so many good things about this place, but I also heard that lately they've been over booking and their quality isn't near what they used to be. Clearly after my experience I agree. When I went to pay they charged me full price everything, no discount or anything after they injured me (getting cut on the ball of your foot is annoying to have to walk on afterwards since I couldn't put any pressure if i didn't want it stinging) The only reason i didn't make a fuss was because i was there for all ready 2 hours and was running late for a dance practice (which now i had to sit out from....) They laser hair removed my legs then I got in the collagen booth for ten minutes which is equivalent to a full body workout, you are vibrated all over and jiggle like mad while hanging on to these bars and tubes of light blast you from all sides it is quite the experience I totally reccommend and would try it again. Then I hopped into the spray tan booth to top it all off. My skin is absolutely glowing and revitalized I am impressed with NUMI all around. When I called to book the appointment, the person on the phone was a bit abrupt, but seemed to know her stuff when I asked a couple of questions. The location itself is very clean, and everyone seems to be very professional. My esthetician was very nice and friendly, and quite efficient - after all was said and done, I think I was in and out in 10 minutes (it was just a basic bikini wax). Overall, my experience was fine, except for a few things: - I told the esthetician (who I believe was Fran) that it was my first time, so any extra info would be great. She didn't explain anything that she was doing, and didn't give me post-waxing skin care tips, which would have been great for this waxing newbie. - The esthetician didn't wear gloves, I thought that was something people did? They do have a handwashing station though, and I watched her wash her hands before she got started. - Despite having done this for 10 years, the esthetician didn't use the same kind of technique I expected from reading up on bikini waxes (e.g. adding pressure to the area after pulling off the wax strip to reduce the stinging). Yes, bikini waxes hurt (I said damn!), but a little help to take away the sting would have been super. Overall, it was fine, and the price was right - $15 + tax and tip. And I'll probably end up going back, because I don't have any other recommendations for local places. But, considering it was my first time, I was sorta hoping for a little more.
