So annoyed. Called on 1/29/2024 to make an appointment. Front office confirmed my insurance and set me up for an appointment on 2/29/2024. I get a text THE EVENING BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT on 2/28/2024 to ask about my insurance. Then they tell me my insurance is out of network and to call them the next day during business hours to talk about plan details. How unprofessional and a waste of time!! The front desk confirmed my appointment when I initially called. Then they wait one month and text me after business hours the day before my appointment to ask about my insurance again??? I canceled my appointment and let them know their service was disappointing. I would avoid this place. read more

I really wanted to support and appreciate this local family practice. However, taking my toddler to this appointment revealed a complete disregard for children or a family. Not only are there no available safe places for a kid to wait, no toys, no attention paid to us, but the experience was cold and unwelcome. because of a series of forms that took less than 2 minutes, we were callously bumped to wait an additional 45 minutes before being seen. An extra 45 minutes with a 2 year old is a lifetime. The front desk staff made me feel like a burden and a nuisance instead of warm or welcome. On top of that, they forgot to polish and floss my husband's teeth?!?! when I asked about it, simply said it was a mistake -- with no apology. Offering for us to come back for more time to polish and floss after this rude experience is laughable. Honestly, I just wanted some kindness and respect. I called to schedule an ortho consultation. The receptionist who picked up the phone was pretty rude and dismissive. She seemed to keep trying to send me away, saying things like, "Your current dental office doesn't offer invisalign?" and similar comments like that. She also said, "Well we only have Invisalign and not traditional braces, so I'll give you the contact info for some other offices in Alameda." I had to quickly stop her and say that Invisalign is what I'm looking for. I don't understand why she kept trying to get me off the phone. I honestly felt pretty uncomfortable because I just wanted to make an appointment, but she made it very difficult, and seemed to not want new patients. I ended up just saying that I would try to call another office much to her satisfaction. She seemed glad and quickly hung up the phone. This was a very awkward conversation. They should probably get a new receptionist who is more friendly and welcoming. I work in the healthcare field too, and would never be so dismissive towards a new patient =( read more

I have had many positive experiences in the past but wanted to write about my most recent. I was having some serious pain in a tooth and they were able to squeeze me in 8am Saturday. after checking things out they referred me to an Endocare group for and had me wait and they set up a same day appointment. Well things didn't go perfect there. During the procedure to other group broke a crown on the tooth next to it. I stopped back at Amy Lee assuming i was setting up an appointment a week or two later to fix but instead they had me come in, make a crown and fixed that day. Her and her group stayed an extra hour or two after closing to make sure I was ok. I think most dentists a) probably wouldn't have gotten me in that quick b) wouldn't have made sure my endo appointment was so quick and C) definitely wouldn't have given up their Saturday afternoon to fix an error by someone else. read more

I really enjoyed my visits with Dr. Lee, however the last visits I was super traumatized with the experience I had. It wasn't with Dr. Lee, it was with another Dr. whom I forgot the name. I had a deep cleaning done. The doctor used so much local anesthesia that my whole mouth and lips was swollen for a whole day, no, that was not the worst. The worst part is she finished in less than half an hour. For the many times I have had deep cleaning it usually lasts more than an hour and they take time to really deep clean your gums. However that wasn't the case. Not only was I charged for my services which I never understood, but I felt that it was so dishonest what the doctor did. Aside from that depending on who the hygienist is, the one I had was super aggressive and rushing through her work. She put me through so much pain and was so harsh in her work that I felt the urge to tell her immediately. I'm not one to complain and hope they can change, however after this experience I will not ever go back not only they charge you on top of what my insurance has already paid for I feel that this are completely dishonest. read more

WHEN: Wednesday @10am It's so good to be back! I've gone to other locations and its just not the same! PARKING: They have their own parking lot! Even if there are not spots available (which never happens), you can park on the street for free since this office is in a neighborhood. OFFICE AMBIANCE: Clean, no carpets, nice wooden cabinets. They always have good music playing (good old classics) and it just feels overall clean and new enough! I thought I'd arrive early in case there were papers to fill out. I just had one paper to sign since its been 2 years since I've been here, and they seated me 15 minutes early, woo-hoo! Dr. Fora and "B" worked with me this time and I had a blast. Those ladies were so friendly and I just felt I can trust them. I didn't need my x-rays done since I had that taken care of at the previous location. They had me rinse with Hydrogen Peroxide, which is a new thing since covid-19. With B assisting, Dr. Fora: + Checked my jawline to check for any abnormalities + Measured the height of the bone by probing my gum pockets. Healthy tissue with a score of 1-3 is good, 4 is borderline (possibly inflammation/tarter), and 5-6 indicates gun loss/bone disease. By the way, I appreciated how quick and gentle she was--the most painless and least uncomfortable experience yet! + Demonstrated how to brush and floss my teeth properly (I learned something new--at this age) hahah + Cleaned (scaling) every nook and cranny of my teeth with an ultrasonic scaler. Since it may splash, I was given eye protection. + Scraped (scaling) any residual tarter with a hand instrument. I really appreciate Dr. Fora for going to town on my front fill because there is a subtle stain that has been bothering me for years and other dentists didn't even really bother. Luckily I'm not sensitive to scraping sounds, and it's just SO satisfying knowing she is removing the stain and she did such a great job! THANK YOU! Dr. Fora asked if I had any questions and concerns and then B flossed and polished by teeth! I was given my goodie bag (toothbrush, toothpaste, but no floss this time), and I was done at 10:30am! Amazing team! I have the biggest fear of dentists as I've had unnecessarily major dental work done as a teen. Unfortunately I let my dental health decline and hadn't been to my regular cleaning appointments in a while. After a 2am tooth pain wake up call from my body I decided it was time to go. I also developed TMJ as a side effect from medication which caused unbearable pain and discomfort I mistook for tooth pain. Anyways, not only did they fit me in last minute for a couple appointments but they even created a new treatment plan and explained everything in detail. Everyone is so warm, gentle and kind I really enjoy their company. This is a huge bonus when fear is running through my veins. I was able to remain calm and get through my appointments. (Tip: bring headphones for the drilling noise) Leah is an absolute lifesaver! She's super sweet, gentle, caring, kind and very helpful. Selena is awesome! She helped me relax and get through my appointments easily. I'm so sorry I forgot the other dental assistant name but she's equally as awesome. Dr. Noe and Dr.Lee and absolutely amazing. I've seen Dr. Lee for over 10+ years. I've gotten braces and Invisalign with her. Dr. Lee is a great orthodontist who is knowledgeable, caring, and patient. The same can be said for her staff. Dr. Lee's office has consistently offered positive experience to me and my wife, and that is rare for a Dental office. Leah at the front desk is always very helpful with scheduling and makes it a point to remember patients. Dr. Lee is knowledgeable and offers good advice, and the insurance side of things is very easy because of how good they are with submitting claims. I feel like part of the family when I visit and I feel welcome and comfortable no matter the reason I'm visiting. Each station has modern equipment and feels clean and new. The technology they use to show you your teeth is amazing. I've never had that experience at an office before as I am from a small town, and I don't think I would live without it now. Dr. Li's office has made some great recommendations for our Invisalign and root canals which has saved us a great deal of time, money, and given us a great overall experience with caring for our teeth. I would definitely recommend their office and continue to go there despite several moves. My first visit was great. Dr. Lee is friendly, outgoing, very knowledgeable and the best dentist I have ever had the pleasure to be a patient at. I do not recommend this dentist. I went there for a tooth chip repair. The dentist let me leave with the blue paper ingrained into my tooth and said it would come off with simple brushing. It did not. I went back to have it corrected and the dental assistant had to file it off with a machine--something I am not capable of at home but somehow the dentist let me leave like that!! Additionally, after not receiving any bill yet, the office called me threatening to send me to collection. They then called my emergency contact, and caused panic because they told him they had not heard from me. He literally thought I was missing because of their communication. I called them immediately to pay my bill and understand why they would call my emergency contact and cause alarm. Later I learned they also called MY MOTHER who thought I was in the hospital because of what was initially said to her. She was SCARED. Update: The office sent my bill Sept 29 and threatened to turn me over to collections on October 1. Two days after they mailed my bill. In response to me being upset about them unnecessarily calling my emergency contacts and worrying my family, they said "I hope you understand I was just doing my job." These are bad business practices and the dentist clearly didn't care that I left with the job incomplete. I would never go back to this office. read more

I moved to the area almost four years ago and found Dr Lee only within the last two years. Dr. Lee has a great manner, is totally thorough, and very professional. She doesn't have one of those practices where they try to sell you everything from filling cavities that aren't really there to overpriced whitening procedures just to make a higher profit. I've been to those before and hated them. Dr. Lee pointed out some recession of my gums and suggested filling/covering them, but only if it was bothering me and only if I thought it was necessary. Dr. Lee has the best staff I've encountered. Leah is the gal up front and handled setting my appointment and helping me with my insurance. She found ways to help save me money. I like that. She is always smiling and made me feel welcome and gave me a sense that they really wanted me there as a patient and NOT a number on a billing spreadsheet. Vivian and Margie have done my cleanings before. They both have a great manner and a purposeful yet light touch. Neither one made my gums bleed during flossing. Dr. Lee is the perfect dentist if you live anywhere near Alameda. As long as I remain in the local area Dr. Lee will be my dentist. I was a patient of Dr. Lee for 5 years. During that time she and her office were great. I actually didn't hate going to the dentist. Doctor Lee and her staff were the best. Anyway, I visited Dr.Lee every 6 months for years. I had my final appointment last summer, and in the fall I moved away. In December I went to a new dentist in a new city. The new dentist found some pretty extreme gum loss that will require surgery to correct. The new dentist showed me the x-rays and explained the gum loss had occurred over time, over many months. The new dentist could not explain why Dr. Lee hadn't seen the problem over the last year, not to mention at my last appointment 5 months before. I contacted Dr. Lee's office for an explanation twice and was promised a reply - maybe the new dentist was scamming me? Dr.Lee never responded. As such, I have an appointment for a second opinion next week; hoping to avoid painful very expensive surgery. In any case, even if Dr. Lee is not at fault, a responsible dentist would have gotten back to me. So I can not recommend Dr. Lee or her office to anyone. Update - a second opinion verified it: I need $7500 worth of surgery that my insurance will only pay half of. Thanks for nothing Dr. Lee. I oughtta sue. read more

Thia place is awesome. Booked an appointment with Dr. Lee after having a terrible experience at Alameda Landing Dentistry. The same day, she reassured my bf that he'd be able to get a deep cleaning and she kept her promise despite it having been his first visit. She and her staff are extremely passionate about what they do. We were told at the previous dentist that he'd need laser treatments for supposed periodontal disease. At this dentist, she said that he'd just need a deep cleaning and it'd be resolved by the next visit. They are completely HONEST and not money hungry. I highly suggest going to this dentist. Dr. Amy Lee is the best there is. She is not trying to scheme her clients out of money and will give a very honest assessment of your teeth and the work you need done. I was told my several dentists that even with a root canal my tooth was a lost cause and I would have to get an implant. If you know anything about implants they are painful, take a long time, and are very expensive. I wanted just one more opinion so I found myself in Dr. Lee's office and I told her the dilemma I was in. She assessed my tooth and told me she thinks she was able to salvage my tooth and put a crown on it. I almost burst into tears knowing that what would've cost me thousands will only cost me a couple hundred dollars. She was able to book me the following day and the procedure was painless. I recently joined Dr. Lee and have been VERY happy with it. My gums don't bleed when the hygenists clean my teeth (they did before), I don't grip the seat arms, I don't dread going to the dentist. I liked it so much I brought my son to be worked on. I know it is odd to say that I enjoy the dentist, but Dr. Lee is far and above what I have experienced before. I found Dr. Lee based on my insurance website and on Yelp reviews. The whole practice is very kind, knowledgeable, and great at what they do! The facilities are very clean and updated, too. I needed new xrays, a cleaning, and a filling re-done. They were very diligent about making sure everything was covered by my insurance, and let me know how everything would work along the way in terms of scheduling all the appointments, billing my insurance, etc. Dr. Lee did the cleaning and filling herself, and was very gentle and sure to communicate what she was doing. This is the nicest group of people I have ever encountered in my dental adventures. They didn't judge me for not having been in to the dentist in 4+ years (due to life complications), and they got a cleaning appointment in for me right away. One of my previous dentists used to scape away at my teeth with no regard for my tender gums, but not Dr. Lee! She and her dental assistants are all gentle and kind. I wasn't worried at all. Today, I just got 3 fillings done. The drilling doesn't bother me, but the numbing shot does. I was anxious with the needle, but I was not in any pain! Dr. Lee is very considerate of the anxieties people have at the dentist. I even got nauseous after the shots (I forgot to eat lunch beforehand), and they gave me a yogurt! It really helped me feel better, I was at ease during the whole procedure. I am so glad to have found such a great dentist! I look forward to my next cleaning. read more

I just had a couple of dental procedures done here and I have to say it really is as good as it gets! The staff here are warm and friendly, and Dr. Lee is very thorough and professional. Also, the work they did was really great. Dr. Lee and her staff bent over backwards to make sure I was comfortable, warm, entertained and had every need taken care of while they worked on my teeth. This review is a bit overdue, as I started going to Dr. Lee about 2 years ago. (Never finished my Yelp review). Did I tell you that I'm really afraid of dentists? Well I was until I met Dr. Amy Lee. I was referred to Dr. Lee by my co-workers. I first called Dr. Lee's office and spoke to Maxine. Maxine was so patient and understanding of my fear of the dentist chair and everything that went along with it. She said come in and we will take it very slow....if you don't feel comfortable we can stop at any time. Dr. Lee and her assistant, Jennifer, are the best! Dr. Lee cleaned my teeth and since it was a few years since I visited the dentist she took extra care in all the sensitive areas.... it was amazing. Sadly I had 2 cavities but Dr. Lee filled both cavities and it was painless. My daughter is now a patient of Dr. Lee's and I will continue to refer my friends and family to Dr. Lee. read more

I hadn't been to a dentist in a few years and was scared that I might have finally ruined my teeth & gums beyond repair. Fortunately, with the help of Dr. Lee and her assistant Vivian, that was not the case. I did require some deep cleaning but that was all taken care of painlessly during my first visit. Dr. Lee and her staff are wonderful. My brother referred me to her when I moved back the Bay Area. He office is lovely and parking is never an issue. The equipment she uses is the latest and greatest and reminiscent of Star Trek with all the gadgets. You can also watch TV during your procedure as they have flat screens on the ceiling at each work station or listen to your ipod. Most importantly though is her touch and active listening skills. She really cares about your comfort level and seems genuine. The staff are very friendly and they keep my toddler entertained. He loves the treasure chest of toys to play with. She has extended her services to include cosmetic dentistry such as Invisalign and teeth whitening. If I proceed with the other services I'll write an update. read more
