Amy Dental is a great dentist. Clean office. Very efficient staff. They provide plenty of reminders about upcoming appointments. They notice your absence and remind you to make appointments as necessary. X-rays and pictures of teeth and gum are very clear with good explanation regarding cavities that need filling or other issues observed during teeth cleaning. I went to see Dr. Wei this morning for making a crown for my damaged tooth. This was a very difficult case for all the dentists due to my mouth shape and the position of the damaged tooth. I had been very nervous for this procedure. Dr. Wei has been very good at calming me down before the procedure. Explained treatment plan in very detail and answered all my questions very patiently. The procedure was done in one hour and half very smoothly due to her excellent skills and many years experience. I also want to thank her assistant Ana. She is very skilled too and played a very important role during the procedure. I really appreciated for everything they have done for me today. They are just wonderful professionals. My first impression of Dr. Li was great. She seems like a friendly easygoing person to talk with. She gave me the honest suggestion overall, and mostly importantly, she did a great job on the filling of my front tooth. I gave 5 stars for now, I think it's a fair score overall, customer service, attitude, work quality all counts. The reception lady looks like 60+ was really rude. I had my appointment for 2nd half of deep cleaning and was 10 mins late due to some emergency. Immediately when I entered the clinic and before I was about to apologize for the late, the receptionist glared at me and criticized "Look, you're 10 mins late, don't know it's a 30 mins appointment, how do you expect this to be done now?!" I was shocked and kept silent, then she continued to complain and didn't ask me what's going on, until she said "do you want to get your teeth cleaned or not xxx" (still very bad attitude), I said no I don't want to.. I walked out and didn't want to give this place a second chance, no customer should be treated like that, despite my insurance plan is really good I am pretty sure they can get good money from the insurance company. I had 1 regular dental cleaning and half deep cleaning done with Doctor Xu, Doctor Xu is so nice, really gentle and very patient, I very much appreciated her and feel like she is more of a friend than a doctor. However the staffs here are not so customer oriented, they're just rushing up on everything and don't care how customers feel. I would recommend doctor Xu, but this place No way! read more

This place is awesome!!! I was unhappy with my old dental place so I tried to look for a new place to come. I prefer to go somewhere near my work so I can take some time off to go. Found this place on Yelp and got an appointment quickly for a week after. They have 4 doctors so they have more appointments available. The front desk lady took a short time to verify my insurance which I liked it. Came here for a cleaning today and Dr. Li was amazing. She took her time to ask me about my health condition in order to give me the best treatment. She's so detailed oriented and took her time to discuss with me about my teeth. I told her I left my old place because they did not explain clearly to me about my treatment plan. And I liked the way Dr. Li does it to me here. I couldn't get the X-Ray I took at my old place and my insurance doesn't cover for the 2nd time X-Ray so they offered to give it free and I loved it! Such a wonderful customer service! However I didn't take it because I had some info with me about my previous treatment plan. The cleaning was fast and they even gave me discount for my treatment co-pay. So nice of them!!! I brought my daughter to AMY DENTAL in March because she is accepting Denti-cal，which is she also promoting on her window. My daughter only done the exam on the day of her appointment, Dr. Amy refuse that we make any future appointments and the reason she was giving is she won't get any money from the denti-cal because she doesn't know how to get it and she said she will gets very little money from them even it went through. Then I was questioning why are you putting that poster on your window saying you're accepting 'white card' which is Denti-cal? She said that's because she can do more teeth extraction for elders who has white card so she can gets more money for!!! When I was trying to enter the raffle for win an iPad, she stopped me and said only the good insurance people can enter the raffle, white card people can't! What a real discrimination here!!!! I saw the other reviews she had are good from her Japanese patients. I don't doubt because I know she sincerely treated different group of people differently. read more

I am my husband needed a new dentist and frankly we struggled with finding one nearby. We had problems with walking in and being told we needed for $4000 dollars worth of "needed" cosmetic work or being told they they take our insurance, but there's going to be these various out-of-pocket costs. Having the least expensive service is not our primary goal; we've just found in past experience where our insurance company had been wrongfully billed for a bunch of service we've never received with one dentist and when we found a good dentist back in San Francisco we didn't want to leave them but the drive was just getting too much. What a relief it was to go to Amy Dental. Dr. Amy is so personable and so welcoming and so about doing what is right and what is needed. My native language is English but I also speak Japanese and it was a real treat to have her switch back-and-forth fluently from English and Japanese in our session; how cool is that! She also is a native Mandarin speaker. I was really pleased with the service: I also got some good advice about my individualized care and something happened that I've never had happened before Dr. Amy did my cleaning not just my exam so she really took the time to get to know my mouth with my teeth. In addition she spent a lot of time with me in a personal way too. I had been putting off the dentist since moving from Houston due to the hectic move. I found this place out of a whim, basically noticed the practice while I was dining out at Chinatown. When I arrived, the receptionist greeted me immediately and made me feel comfortable. She was quick to greet me and helped check on my insurance plan and setting up an appointment. After going through my x-rays, I was advised to not only have a routine dental checkup, but also a deep cleaning. The doctor and assistant was super friendly, immediately made me feel at ease. I felt like I was in good hands and have nothing to worry about. The whole procedure went very smoothly. During my cleaning, the hygienist gave me a lot of pointers and explained why certain things happened and how to prevent them. I felt that I could ask as many questions as I wanted and that the hygienist and dentist truly cared about my dental hygiene and well-being. Our family comes to this Dentist since our kids were babies. Now it is almost 13 years. I love this practice. Very clean, organized all the time. Dr. Li and Dr. Lin are the two doctors we visited most. They are very friendly and skillful. Good with kids. They speaks English and Chinese (Mandarin). We rely on their advice for all our dental health. My 12 years old was not recommended to have brace yet, since "he is still growing, and his jaw bone structure may change". My youngest one had one tooth lower than others, they asked Dr. Mao (expert on Children dental health) to check and confirm that we do not need further operation to change it. They are honest, ethical, and kind to their patients. We never receive any surprised bills from them. I was a patient of Dr. Mao before and she was such a nice dentist. She was gentle, caring and patient. I always feel welcomed at her office . That's why even I lived far away now I still decided come back to her. But my experience was not very pleasant this time. This review is for dr. Guo and her assistant. I came for a regular teeth cleaning. The whole time I did not feel respected as a patient at all. It all started because I refused to do X-ray. I refused because of insurance reasons and some other personal reasons. She said without x-ray she can't tell some cavities . I totally understand that, I said I understand but I don't want to do X-ray today, just cleaning is fine. Then all the time is them talking about if X-ray really have radiation and how bad is my teeth. She asked me if I drink coffee or tea because my teeth are stained or something. I said no I don't drink coffee or tea. Then she said, red wine, do you drink red wine. I don't drink red wine! This is the first time I heard that from a dentist. I feel very uncomfortable at this point because my teeth are in a healthy white color, at least people around me think so. During the cleaning she was not gentle and even rude when she asked me to close my mouth. After she said there are at least 5-7 teeth that have problems. Some of the problems I knew I even asked dr. Mao before if those were cavities or signs of developing cavities. She said no. So I don't want to trust her at all. I can't wait to leave there. We've been to Amy Dental for a few years but recently had bad experience. First, we are already on our way to their clinic in the morning and called them to make sure our appointment and then found their assistant is not working that day so our service cannot be completed. If I did not call them on my own, I would only find that later when I arrive at the clinic. Then for today, the assistant on the Sunday shift was very rude. I would give this place negative stars if I could. My family had been going to Amy Dental for years. I saw a dentist 3 years ago, and she is not only an unskilled dentist, she is a liar and manipulator. I went in for a general checkup and after I got X-rayed, she pointed out that I had cavities. When I viewed the X-rays, I couldn't see any. She literally pointed to two of my teeth, which looked perfectly fine, and said that I had cavities there. She pushed me to get filings that day, but I argued, saying that I couldn't see any and I wanted to get another dentist's opinion. After I said that, she immediately got very angry and said that I didn't go to dental school, how would I be able to identify cavities? I felt uncomfortable and left. Fast forward three years later: Today, I went to another dentist to get a general checkup. After they took my X-rays, I asked them if I had any cavities. What do you know? My teeth were perfectly healthy. The aforementioned dentist is a liar and a greedy blood sucker. My family has since stopped going to her after she claimed my sister needed emergency surgery for her crowns. She went to another dentist, and said that all she needed was deep cleaning. I got my headgear and braces set there and still continue to go for deep cleans, and every time we go, I am impressed with the 2-3 month whitenings at the area. I have been with Amy Dental for 10 years and know all the doctors well in the clinic: Dr. Mao, Lin, and Li. We often trade a few jokes while having my teeth cleaning, relaxing and fun. They did an excellent job removing my wisdom teeth. There's only once I had to go to the clinic twice to trim the tooth due to some discomfort after the crowning. They could certainly improve here and there. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of their work and their attitude. I don't like to write reviews much. I went to Dr. Lin for wisdom teeth removal (3 of them! eeck) when they starting growing crocked. Dr. Lin was able to remove them without any hassle and I didn't have much pain afterwards. After a few days, I was able to return to my regular diet of gluttonous consumption without any problems! Have been going to her ever since for fillings, crowns and etc. I really need to floss more than 2-3x a week... sigh. Will keep going back to her until someone invents nanotechnology that fills teeth and kills cavities without any pain! read more

Both my husband and I have been to this dentist place for both regular dentist check-up & cleaning (every 6 month) plus deep cleaning. They are very thorough, nice, easy to communicate with. The most impressive thing is that the dentists there are very skillful in working with your teeth. I've been to other places and they all made me feel horrible. There is a Dentist Dr.Li who destroyed my daughters' teeth. She had teeth infections two years ago. Only 2 years ago, went to 2 root cannals. The reason is there Dr. Li has no experience. My kids' teeth has spikes on them, she tried to ground them done, caused infection etc. We know this till transferring her to other dentist. Don't take your kids there. read more
