Adorable little train station! It's very small but built to mimic past historic stations with a lot of attention to detail in seating and decor. Long wooden, classic seats. No attendant was available on site until the train came. Small bathrooms available, which was surprising for such a little building. Parking available. Lots of natural light! Our daughter enjoyed looking around and out of the windows at the tracks while we waited for the train, which was only two minutes behind. This station supports the Borealis train and the Empire Builder train (daily) that makes easy connections to Milwaukee, Chicago and the Twin Cities (Empire builder offers a long route out west if you want an adventure). These can be booked online/the app and have the option of earning points. I love Amtrak and this was a great experience! Lovely train staff and a smooth ride. Can't wait to use it more this summer. read more

Super cute little train station in Wisconsin Dells. They have restrooms! I used the pot-a-potty across the street and wish I knew they had bathrooms as well. In any case, the train station is open for a short time each day. Too cute! read more

Amtrack station in the Dells, using it for work. Cute little place, super awesome guy working there, overall great experience. It is really not much, but it is clean, well maintained, and a pleasant place to wait for the train. The guy working was friendly, and keep us informed on the status of the train. A really solid experience. read more

I have not used this Amtrak station for travel or anything Amtrak related and only for the yearly…read moreattraction of the cp holiday train extravaganza. Once again like the Milwaukee station the day before it was a mad house of people. There was grilled food and a donation drive going on. The holiday train pulled in and a band set up and started playing music. As always this is a total family event with many family's brining children for this family friendly event. Parking is always a mess around these events. I am indifferent to the the Canadian Pacific railroad but I really respect that they run this yearly holiday train at no charge to the community's in Canada and the US so the people who enjoy this kind of event at this time of the year have a cool event to attend with the family.

The passion and vision for the property's future is refreshing with future additions, this is already cool but it will only get better with their vision and I can't wait to visit in the future. Yes it's a historic landmark railway station that you can go in and look at how it's been preserved from a place way back in time. The grounds also have a caboose that was converted into a man cave kind of a thing with a living area, kitchen and bathroom, one mans dream/vision. The depot basement is a model train room that is a work in progress with a working layout and running trains around the walls. This is also a great spot to watch trains with 25 to 30 a day that pass by the station with a track speed set at 60 mph. This is a great place for a rail enthusiast to spend some time. I'm honored to add them to yelp and post pictures so everyone can see that's it's more than just an historical landmark building. They also have a 24 hour web cam on YouTube to watch the trains.

The driver, some middle-age white man with glasses and beard, was an absolute jerk about the whole thing - telling me "I should have had the app figured out" even though I had *just* told him I hadn't used the Madison bus system before. He even watched me add 2 dollars to the app (so I was clearly going to pay) - then told me it was the wrong one (which I found out later it wasn't) and still wouldn't let me on. I've ridden countless busses in different states and even other countries and haven't had this kind of issue before. I would have understood a simple "sorry, I can't let you on without fare" but this guy was a total *sshole about it. Definitely beware if you need to hop on the G.

I looked at the display again and my bus wasn't on the schedule anymore. Looked online and it was canceled. How can you cancel a bus when it's -15° and there's 4 people relying on it. The next bus showed up 40 mins later. It's RIGHT NEXT TO THE BUS DEPOT!!! Never cancel a bus in dangerous conditions, send a substitute bus. Unacceptable. What are our taxes paying for?

It's an easy distance from where we live in Milwaukee, as it's in close proximity to the Wisconsin Dells. That said, even though we were deep in the woods camping, there was plenty of civilization close by should we have needed to restock on anything. Since we had quite a big group, we booked a double-site and boy did we luck out. I think we had the largest double that was available. It fit two large RV/campers and five tents, leaving ample room for tons of chairs around the fire pit and the big picnic tables provided. Oh and they are *electric campsites* which can be hard to find! No water hook up though. Not too far down from our site was the big shower houses/bathrooms. And let me just say, these are NICE! Like very nice. And very clean. Probably the best campsite bathrooms I've ever seen. I feel as though the building was very new / freshly redone. Other pros: plenty of lake activities (we rented both kayaks and pontoon boats), great walking paths (freshly laid wood chips and clear signage), lakeside beaches, and various playgrounds for the kiddos. Oh and fun planned experiences by the park - it was "Smokey Bear's birthday" when we were there and they had a firetruck on-site, water games, bday treats, prizes, and a meet and greet with the bear himself. A hit with our kids. Even if you're not camping, this state park would be wonderful for a day trip!

It is under new ownership, since 2014 and the new owners are remodeling and revamping the place.Some of the staff is new to camping but they are people people, so it all works out in the end. It has some of the lowest rates in the area even though the campground is 2.5 miles from Downtown Dells. The facilities are kept clean and the staff is quick to respond when an incident occurs. I highly recommend this place.

There's holes in the doors, weather strips to the front door missing with gaps big enough for mice! The layout is so bazaar, line when your 12 and have a sleep over and push everything together to build a fort! They say they renovated the whole place, but these rooms have clearly remained unchanged for decades. The beds themselves feel like blocks with basic training sheets and blankets. If you did not serve and therefore are unaware of how that feels...think dusty sandpaper. We are only here for two nights or I would dip and stay at literally any other motel. My favorite part was when we checked in and the "concierge" pleaded to us to just not break the furniture...that's not a good sign! This hotel is for you if plan to get wasted and use the room to crash...but my guess is it's a safe bet to leave the blacklights off!
