This station supports the Borealis train and the Empire Builder train (daily) that makes easy connections to Milwaukee, Chicago and the Twin Cities (Empire builder offers a long route out west if you want an adventure). These can be booked online/the app and have the option of earning points. I love Amtrak and this was a great experience! Lovely train staff and a smooth ride. Can't wait to use it more this summer.

Yes it's a historic landmark railway station that you can go in and look at how it's been preserved from a place way back in time. The grounds also have a caboose that was converted into a man cave kind of a thing with a living area, kitchen and bathroom, one mans dream/vision. The depot basement is a model train room that is a work in progress with a working layout and running trains around the walls. This is also a great spot to watch trains with 25 to 30 a day that pass by the station with a track speed set at 60 mph. This is a great place for a rail enthusiast to spend some time. You will not get a refund if your travel plans change. They don't cater and they believe in this world, nobody's travel plans can change. Also, no covered parking, a 5-10 minute shuttle bus to/from your the lot plus the wait time for the shuttle.....oh, and no refunds if you fly in earlier than paid for. Best advise unless you have lots of money to waste, just park in the terminal garage for $10 a day compared to $8....time is with lots more than saving $2

Trains are usually right on time here, and there's always parking ($8), expect a short wait to enter and exit the parking lot. You should note that if you're trying to connect to AMTRAK from MKE airport, it's too far to walk with luggage and there's no sidewalk most of the way, you'll need to take a shuttle bus. If you are arriving at the airport and want to get to a downtown hotel, take the 80 bus from just outside baggage claim. For traveling back and forth from Chicago, the Hiawatha is the way to go if the schedule works for you. Parking is a little easier here than downtown Milwaukee.

The bus is a typical motor coach with ample legroom and seating. I felt comfortable during the journey and the driver was friendly to the passengers. Me and my friend waited till 3:30 then I decided to drive to bus station on Arcadia talk to a female bus driver and she assured me she would come right away, but that was 350. Don't forget we were there at 1 o'clock. I really felt sorry for the three ladies because they had a plane to catch at a certain time and were really panicked. As part of the effort to get my friend up to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission I had to contact taxi services and find one which could bring my friend from Gurnee up to Milwaukee while meeting my expectations. It was challenging. After a few uncommon conversations with some local taxi services I was getting a little concern. I then found Northern American Taxi. I called Marianna and described my unique situation. She liked the idea of helping a homeless person and we proceeded to arrange the ride for my friend. When my friend arrived at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, he called telling me he had a great ride and good time chatting with Marianna. In addition Marianna also made a nice contribution to PADS, the Chicago area homeless program. During this current time we need special people. Marianna not only provided a great service, she showed heart and honor helping an organization focus on helping the less fortunate.
