Puny station but very walkable to lots of waterfront things. Board here to take the Amtrak up and down along the Sound!

In short Getting to Seattle quickly without having to find a…read moreplace to park makes it WAY more fun to head into town for anything. Parking here is evidently always packed during commute hours though. In long I've used this place only to pick up family when they come visit, so I'm hardly the most-experienced user. But it's really well organized. It helps bring some positive activity to Lynnwood, which can be really sleepy and sometimes kinda crummy here and there. You can turn in to the parking lot or into the parking garage. Even with hundreds and hundreds of spots, you have to get here early during the week if you want to stow your car. During off times, though--like when I pick up and drop off visiting loved ones--it's a breeze. The trains arrive every 10 minutes, and the crowds flow smoothly through the building. I've heard over and over from everyone who tries it once that they now visit Seattle more for sports, food, music, and so on. It's slightly more work than just jumping in your car, but it's faster, and you don't have to find parking. They're really fixing up this corner of town, too. More apartments, some parks, big improvements to the main roads. I've lived around here for 20 years and it's definitely looking better than it ever has. I think most people who drive into town for work are still dealing with pretty slow commutes, but this system is making a big difference for the people who use it and the businesses around it. It's pretty awesome after so many decades of having only buses to get around...when we used to have trolleys (antique light rail!) 100 years ago. We're finally catching back up to our century-old original standard of transit.

The location of this station is a short walk from the Lynnwood Transit Center, where you can connect to Community Transit and Sound Transit buses. Not only is this station a transit point, but it has park and ride facilities as there are 1,798 parking spaces in the Lynnwood City Center Garage and surface lots. For bikes, there are lockers and bike racks available. The station also has restrooms available, unlike other Link stations. As for the train platform, it is not street level so you will need to travel up using an elevator/escalator to get to the elevated train platform. Trains run very often, so you won't have to wait too long for a train. However, you will want to check the time if you have a bus connection as buses don't seem to run as frequently. While bus connectivity could be improved, I think the opening of this station is a great addition to the transportation infrastructure in Seattle as it makes it easier to travel into Seattle without a car.

This is the closest Sound Transit light rail stop just East of the new 145th roundabout above I-5…read more The Homie used this frequently to commute to/from UW Seattle campus. He has also rode this nearly the entire length from Lynnwood to SeaTac. Popular stops north of downtown include Northgate, Roosevelt/65th, UDistrict/The Ave, UW/Husky Stadium, and Capitol Hill/Broadway. Downtown stops include Westlake, Symphony, Pioneer Square, CID, Stadium, and SoDo. Additional stops spanning the length include Beacon Hill, Mount Baker, Othello, Rainier Beach, Tukwila Int'l Blvd, SeaTac, and Angle Lake. Future plans include connecting to Federal Way and to the Eastside across Lake Washington to Bellevue and Redmond. For current information: https://www.soundtransit.org Anyways, we attended the Starcrawler/Garbage concert at the Paramount last night. Because of the Mariners ALCS game 3 and evening commute, we decided to take light rail and not deal with parking and traffic in downtown Seattle (10/15/25). Absolutely a smart move! Lucked out with a convenient parking spot in the garage (Note: 24 hour max or vehicle will be towed). Garage is well lit, however no visible security cameras. Make sure to secure your car and contents, lock it up! Major Metro bus routes have also stops at this station to help with connectivity. For example, The Homie uses Route 333 to connect from 145th/Aurora and/or Rapid Ride E. Great route between there, Shoreline Community College and Mountlake Terrace light rail station. We walked from parking garage to the station, tapped our Orca cards for fare payment. Single ride kiosks are available. There's elevator, stairs and escalator access to the rail deck. Note: fare enforcement will be stepped up and unfortunately there are currently no restroom facilities. Glad that this is one of two light rail stops in Shoreline. The other one is Shoreline North 185th. Great way to get around and provide an additional transportation choice for northenders!

From my personal experience, the parking spots are gone by 8:00 AM during weekdays. This is convenient stop for commuters and can be busy especially during M's, Seahawks, and Sounders home games. The trains do experience some delays and it's nice to the Sound Transit freeway stop as an alternative. I used the light rail to travel to either Westlake, UW, or even International District. The stops may seem a lot, but the travel time is rather quick. As always, I recommend adding a buffer time especially during peak travel times. This stop is a short walk away from local spots such as Diamond Knot Brewing, Baguus Little Asia, and Double DD Meats. I've seen commuters park in the neighborhoods around Mountlake Terrace to avoid the popular game of hunting down the last parking spot at the station.

The station is located next to I-5 and is an elevated rail station built above the street. At the street level, there is a bus stop to connect to Community Transit buses. There is also a parking garage across the street here, making it easier to commute into Seattle without driving. The Sound Transit website also states that a surface parking lot with 206 parking spaces is available. Bike parking and restrooms are also features of this station. Light rail service is frequent as there are trains at least every 10 minutes or so for most of the day. All in all, it is a good addition, bringing in travelers into this area that otherwise would not have ventured here because it was previously inconvenient by public transportation.

The station primarily servers Amtrak trains, but there's adjacent entrance to the subway line as well, accessible via the ramp. The main building of the station has the iconic clock tower. The station's interior was also beautiful, with high ceilings, art decor on the walls, marble floors and shafts. There were plenty of benches for passengers to sit. Multiple displays were showing the arrival times of the trains. The atmosphere inside the station was much nicer than its exterior suddronding. Once we got to the station, we went to the baggage drop off area. A friendly staff member behind the counter helped us with weighing both of our luggages, tagging them and lining them up for the train. Our train arrived at the platform on time. Our tickets were checked at the door. Staff members were available on the platform to help us find the correct car. Security came and asked if they need to call ambulance. Some words exchanged. Didn't escalate the situation. We left around that point. I think the security handled it well. Hopefully the guy got medical attention.
