Now on this 3rd visit, not only was I not greeted upon entering, I was not greeted at the register, because that employee was on such an important call, he continued it in my face as he rang me up. He didnt even tell me my total, he just stood there, after ringing me up and continued his conversation while he waited for me to look at the screen for my total. I give him the money, and as he gives me my change, this mf had the nerve to give me a look as though I was being the rude one! Not only that, but this mf drops my change in my hand as though he was making sure to not have any skin to skin contact with me. As I step to the side, to put away my money, the customer behind me, walks up to the register and speaks to "Rudeness", and he didn't open his mouth. I should have told the customer, that he'd probably have to call him on the phone in order for him to speak.

The staff consistently makes fresh batches, but sometimes, if there are larger orders, you may have to wait a bit. During my hotel stay, I make a quick stop at this place for basic necessities like Gatorade, water, snacks, wipes, gum, and sometimes even gas. It was around 10:30 p.m. on Monday (06.20.2025) after a long day in Artesia taking my 90-year-old mother to multiple medical appointments, then helping out with yard work at her house. Exhausted, I left without my wallet and didn't realize until my gas light came on. Panicked about possibly stalling on the freeway, I scrounged up as much loose change as I could--just under $4. When I got to this station, the attendant (a tall male, probably in his 40s) looked at me with a flat affect when I placed the change on the counter to count out what I needed in my tank, and repeatedly told me he would only accept quarters. Giving all of my paper bills to my mother for groceries, I had about $2.75 in quarters in my goalve compartment, and the remainder in nickels, pennies, and dimes--enough for almost a gallon--but he absolutely refused to take anything but quarters. Not even a mix that totaled the same amount. I explained my situation and that I just needed a little gas to get home (20 minutes away), but there was zero compassion. I understand businesses have policies, but refusing legal U.S. tender in coins--from a woman of color in an obvious desperate situation and clearly in a dangerous bind late at night--is pretty heartless. Policies are one thing, but basic human decency matters more.
