Seems like the women here all have attitudes on a daily basis as if they hate their jobs or the people they service, or maybe they have an issue with me for whatever reason. This is my second review. I came in to purchase a pack of cigarettes and even walking in the lady at the counter just stares at me like what the hell do I want. So I said "hello" I asked for my cigarettes and she asked for an ID. Fair enough. Just but the energy she gave odd was rude and I mentioned it to her and told her that it seems like every time I come in here, you guys have an attitude. She didn't care. Told me okay. Have a good day. Then went on to tell the next customer that I must be the one with an attitude. When she looked me in my face like there was a problem from the beginning. Like I was bothering her. And as I'm talking to her. She glances at the guy behind me like I'm the problem lol. No. You're all the problem. Seems as if you all forget that you applied to a customer service position. Which has basics of saying a simple "hello" its pretty pathetic how this is more than one occasion. The first occasion was the woman giving me a hard time about Apple Pay. When I know they've taken it in the past. This occasion, I was the one to say hello and get stared at. No hello. What can I get you. How can I help you. Just rude ass behavior. Every time. And every time it happens. I will post their behavior. They get away with this type of behavior all the time. And I'm sure it's because they're judging their customers as they walk through the door. They recently updated their pumps here, which is great. As soon as you start pumping gas, there's a little TV screen that turns on which gives you the weather report and today's news. It seems that some people have confused this ampm for the one on Lakewood Blvd and Florence. This ampm does NOT have a car wash. FYI - they have a chase ATM here too :) read more

This place is always packed but for good reason, it's the cheapest gas in town. Trust me, I've been searching. Whenever my gauge is approaching that dreaded "E" I make sure I'm around this location. It's not an updated AM PM but I still come back for affordable gas, scratchers, and every once in a while a soda or water bottle. Many times there is traffic or lines of cars waiting, but sometimes at certain window opportunities there is not too many customers so you can pull up to a pump right away. I love getting scratchers from here too, 2 out of 3 are usually winners, I'm not talking about $1,000's but a few bucks is not too bad. The area is a little sketchy sometimes, just make sure to watch out for panhandlers. read more

The gas is affordable but I think they should really get rid of the food service. On almost every occasion I have found past date, spoiled, and even moldy food. Arco pretty much has the cheapest gas in town. Definitely the cheapest gas in Downey. I like this Arco the best of the three I go to in Downey. It is located in an intersection that I use a great deal so I often gas up when I leave to LA or come back to Downey. I love this place because it is close to my place and I can come here any time of the day for Bimbo snacks! Sometimes I come here at like 3 AM to do that haha! This Arco does not have as many people at it as the one near Stonewood. I hate that one the most. After my partner and i had the most horrible service at the arco am pm on florence and lakewood, here in Downey as well, we came to get a slurpee and right when we walked in we were greeted and asked how we are and notified us about the different prices. It was the perfect way to make up for the other am pm and I didnt catch the cashiers name but thank you for making us feel important. Arco Am Pm on Florence and Lakewood: Their slurpee machine was not working and my partner went to notify one of the cashiers on duty and this lady was so rude and she tried to dumb my partner down and say "its not working, cant you get another flavor?" when she couldnt even walk over to check the machines. Then she went behind the counter and started talking about my partner with the other cashier in spanish, not realizing that i was standing right next to them. Worst customer service ever. read more

I spent 15 unnecessary minutes at this gas station simply trying to pump gas in my vehicle. Swiped my card at the pump, computer there froze. Went inside to go pay, swiped my card, went to my vehicle.. pump wasn't pumping! Go back inside to tell them only for the cashier to inform me that the transaction was canceled after I just received a receipt of an authorized transaction. Had to swipe my card again, now my card declines as a result of swiping too many times at the same location. Cashier looks at me as if it's my fault, telling me my card declined. It was JUST working. Had to swipe my card for the FOURTH time and guess what. There computer system froze up once more! Fifth times a charm I guess to get gas in your car over there. Terrible customer service, their computer servers are filled with bugs. No apologies for the delay or inconvenience whatsoever. Ended up being late to my event. Cheapest gas, but packed during peak hours. I think they just built another one right on the same street, closer to the 5. Haven't been to that one yet. The machine outside takes cash or deibit/atm only for a 45 cents fee per transaction. I'm not sure what they accept inside. read more
