My brother found a great deal online for 2 pistols and contacted the store for a transfer. After several emails to and from James Logan, he was told, "Sorry, I am in the business of selling firearms, not supporting a big box superstore. I will not accept the transfer." As much as I believe in supporting local businesses, this is a terrible attitude in customer service. Not only did Mr. Logan lose out on 100 dollars in transfer fees, but my sister-in-law was planning on buying a handgun from them as well. They lost out on hundreds just to prove their point of ethics. When my brother could purchase each pistol for 100 dollars less than what Mr. Logan was asking (adding up to 200.00)why not save that large amount of money? Mr. Logan was basically telling my brother he needed to spend that extra 200 in his store or find another store for the transfer - which he did no problem. I would recommend Safari Supply in Manchester where the staff is extremely helpful and will work with the customer to satisfy their needs, or even The Bennington Trading Post - where they do not force you to overspend and will happily take transfers as well. As I mentioned, I can understand supporting local businesses, and my brother intended to by buying a handgun for his wife as well, yet bad customer service like this needs to be recognized and pointed out. I am sure Lost Target has many happy and faithful customers but my brother, myself and many of our friends who did business with them will no longer be darkening their doorway.

The flagship store carries all of the brand's best-known and new clothing items along with fishing and outdoor gear (you can get fly fishing lessons here, too). It's beautiful two-level store, roomy, outdoorsy with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. They welcome dogs, too! They have periodic sales, which we checked out on our most recent visit, and that's a good thing since Orvis clothing is of very high quality but not inexpensive. We are still wearing pants and shirts purchased a decade ago, and they have held up well. We also love their huge fireplace, a great place to sit and get warm when it's cold out (not like the 90-degrees when we stopped by). Men's clothing is on the first floor, women's on the second. We enjoy both.

Dad passed almost 20 years ago and this shotgun had been sitting in my camp, unloved and unused. There was a bad hitch in the rails so the pump action was anything but smooth and some type of feeding issue too. Tad was the gunsmith at Frank's who worked on the gun. He called me to review what I wanted before he started working which was appreciated. The gun was done on time and at a reasonable price. I picked up the gun a few days ago and it looked and worked like a brand new gun. I got it back to my camp and ran half a box of shells through it and couldn't be happier. Smooth and beautiful.
