I came to use the shooting range and had already completed the e-waiver ahead of time, which made the check-in process quick and easy. I also appreciated receiving a free target with my range fee..it was a nice touch. The staff was professional, attentive, and took the time to give me a quick overview of the rules and how to navigate the facility. The store has a great selection of items to browse, which makes it easy to find something that catches your eye. Overall, I had a great time at the range and will definitely be returning. It's great to have a legitimate place to go where I feel safe and welcomed.

Check-in was smooth, targets and ammo were handled quickly, and we were on the range in no time. The range itself is very cold, which I actually appreciated because it helped with sweaty hands. After a quick safety rundown, they let you do your thing. I really liked that they didn't hover or snoop around you, I was able to focus and shoot comfortably while staying safe. Solid experience from start to finish. Will definitely be back.

Location: Sportsman Warehouse Fresno Date: December 29,…read more2025 Service: Online Order Earlier today, I decided to order a firearm for purchase online due to sales, and it's almost the end of the year. I went to my local Sportsman Warehouse to select and pick out a firearm. Customers be aware have your patience got on because you're gonna need it because if you either gonna pick up Ammo or starting a paperwork will be your right arm. You will be waiting in a line. They have this new system now where we have a kiosk barcode and you have to scan the barcode and check yourself in and put yourself online currently I've been reading almost 2 hours and barely budged. I'm just here to start the paperwork on my Firearm order. I strongly suggest that they hire some more people or qualify some more people to certified and doing the firearm paperwork process and distribution that is much needed. I rarely ever have to do a 3 to 4 hour wait to start paperwork for the firearm I purchase online. Btw i'm still online waiting to be her fingers crossed.

Let me start by saying this: this is the first Yelp review I have ever written. The customer…read moreservice at the Fresno Sportsman's Warehouse was so bad that I felt compelled to warn others. I have purchased numerous firearms from this location over the past 10+ years, and never--ever--have I experienced service this terrible. They recently implemented a "new system": a digital waitlist. When I checked in, I genuinely thought it was a joke. I was 6th in line with a projected wait time of FOUR HOURS. Four hours -- being sixth. That makes absolutely no sense. I asked the woman behind the counter if my phone was correct. With a straight face, she responded, "Maybe... might be a little less." She then explained that once your name is called, you supposedly get a 30‑minute grace period to check in. Based on that information, I went to grab a bite to eat nearby while monitoring the waitlist. After an hour, my phone still showed a 3‑hour wait, so I headed back anyway. While driving back, I received a notification that I was second in line, although the app still claimed there was a 45‑minute wait. Then -- as I am literally pulling into the parking lot -- I receive a notification that I was marked as a "NO SHOW" and kicked off the list. How is that even possible? I assumed this would be easily fixed. Surely, if I explained the situation, someone would understand. I was very wrong. The employee behind the counter could not have cared less. He told me the store closed in two hours and that because I "missed" my turn, I'd have to wait again and that they "might" get to me. There were 4-5 employees behind the counter, yet everything moved at an unbelievably slow pace. The staff was rude, condescending, and dismissive. The only bright spot was a very professional and kind manager who stepped in and moved me to the front. I truly wish I had his name because he was the lone example of what customer service should look like. Unfortunately, that only paused my frustration. The employee who handled my transaction then did everything possible to avoid selling to me. He questioned my documentation, claimed it was insufficient, and even told me I'd need to purchase a $64 fishing license for it to work. Here's the kicker: The very next day, I went to a local gun shop in Clovis with the exact same documentation--the documentation Sportsman's Warehouse said was invalid. Guess what? No issues. Friendly staff. Fast service. Purchase completed. Receipt in hand. Pickup date set. This location should be embarrassed. And if corporate leadership were smart, they would investigate this store -- because I guarantee they wouldn't be happy with what they find. I understand my money may not matter to them. But if you're reading this and considering purchasing a firearm here: don't. Save yourself the time, stress, and disrespect. Think twice before dealing with the gun counter at this Sportsman's Warehouse. NEVER. AGAIN.

559 Armory: Unprofessional, Predatory, and Utterly Disgraceful Business Practices…read moreI recently attempted to complete a firearm purchase at 559 Armory, only to be met with egregious overreach, blatant opportunism, and a complete disregard for customer rights and basic fairness. Due to a minor name discrepancy between my prior purchase record (under a nickname variant) and my current identification--fully documented and legally updated--the California DOJ indicated that the dealer retained discretion to proceed with the transfer. This is standard procedure in such cases, allowing responsible dealers to exercise reasonable judgment and facilitate lawful sales. 559 Armory chose instead to categorically refuse, citing internal policy preferences that appear rooted more in personal or political bias than in any legitimate compliance concern. Rather than honoring their role as a licensed firearms dealer committed to upholding Second Amendment rights, they elected to block the transaction entirely--despite the firearm never leaving their inventory and no actual restocking or handling being required. Compounding this refusal, they then imposed a staggering $300 restocking fee on the full refund of my prepaid purchase (including additional magazines I had legitimately acquired). This fee is patently excessive, punitive, and--based on California regulations limiting such charges in firearm transactions--potentially unlawful when no genuine restocking occurs. The result: I was denied my constitutionally protected right to acquire a means of self-defense, lost significant funds to an unjustified penalty, and received zero meaningful assistance or accommodation from staff who seemed more interested in retaining profit than serving customers. This is not the conduct of a reputable firearms retailer. It is the hallmark of a business that exploits regulatory gray areas for financial gain while cloaking itself in selective compliance. Their website touts "lowest fees and pricing" and "best customer experience," yet my experience reveals the opposite: predatory fees, arbitrary gatekeeping, and contempt for paying patrons. To prospective customers in the Central Valley and beyond: Avoid 559 Armory at all costs. Their practices are not merely inconvenient--they are unethical, anti-customer, and fundamentally at odds with the principles they purport to support. Seek out dealers who demonstrate genuine professionalism, transparency, and respect for the law and their clientele. One star is generous; zero would be more accurate if the platform permitted it.
