Recently took a firearm's safety test here, the gentlemen in the front was very knowledgeable & gave me insight on some questions I missed. Overall I passed the test & was given my Cert. then and there. I also went to rent out some of their firearms & tested them on the range. Overall everything went smooth and this visit really eased any anxiety about guns i had. Prices on Ammunition are a little high but their inventoried firearms are reasonably priced. read more

Took the hubs for his birthday to try out a new gun he is thinking of purchasing and he loved it! Very easy-going and friendly staff. The pricing is great, truly a very good deal!! For those who are new or beginning you will have to perform a quick demonstration that you are able to load the mag, insert the mag into the gun, rack it back and then put the safety on. Then you will need to eject the mag, rack it back all the way so the round in the chamber is ejected and then lock it. The good news is, if there is more than one of you, only one of you needs to be able to complete the demonstration. Great experience and I know we will be back! SIDE NOTE You can bring your own ear and eye protection, which I recommend (thankfully I remembered ours). However if you forget, you will have to purchase the items there and they do have some for reasonable prices but it is mandatory to have ear and eye protection. read more

I was a single lady looking to get into shooting. Everybody in here was super helpful and patient with me. They let me shoot every gun on the wall until I had figured out which one was right for me. After my purchase, they always offered tips to shooting better without being overly abrasive. I recommend this place for any woman just starting out, that might be intimidated. read more

I've been her a handful of times. Very friendly staff! I took my Firearm Safety Certificate test here. They also offer CCW Permit classes and their website offers more details. There is a fee to shot at the range but on Tuesdays Women can shoot for Free. They also offer gun rentals and sell targets. They also has a selection of firearms for purchase as well as ammo and magazines. As you enter there are tablets in the front where you sign a waiver before you can shoot at the range. This place sucks! The guy on the gun counter was going to help me with a weapon title transfer. This older guy (probably his supervisor) came up to the gun sales assistant told him not to do the gun transfer and gave us a weird look as he walked away. We also called 30 minutes ahead to ask if we can do the weapon transfer. We drove an hour and didn't get anything done. Definitely don't recommend this place! read more

Crazy Encounter Today... When i tried to come in a solid 20 minutes before shooting ended, which is an hour and 20 minutes before the store closes, i was turned away in the most upsetting manner. Keep in mind i had my own equipment (gun, glasses, ammo, and earmuffs) As soon as i walked in at 4:40PM, I was immediately met with a "You're too late." by the white, short-haired serviceman with a speech impediment as he's helping 3 other customers. I stood in line confused, and replied, "Not even for 20 minutes?". The man stares at me and without hesitation replied "No!." I replied "You guys should update your website then." I proceed to walk out because I wasn't going to keep going & as soon as i'm about to walk out, the man finally builds the courage to reply, "Read the fucking sign!" To top it off, the long-haired gentleman and what looked like a new hire proceeded to watch and say nothing. Guess you can't teach what others don't practice ‍ I've never had someone become so hostile in such a short manner of time, which was pretty hilarious , but regardless, if this is the type of short-tempered people working for "The Range," I would spend my money elsewhere. read more

It's always a pleasure coming in and getting some rounds off! The guys are great and always helpful to new customers wanting to experience firing a firearm or even taking a class! I took their CCW class as well that is next door (same building) and it was very informative and you learn a lot about laws and situational awareness! Prices vary for memberships but the basic one is good enough for me! You get 3 free targets every time you go shoot as well so that saves some money! The merchandise and holsters are awesome as well and they have a wide verity of different styles you can choose from. Very affordable and you get a discount as well if you are a member! Make sure to check out Tuesday's for ladies night. Ladies shoot for free but still have to pay for ammo. Best range in the valley in my opinion so make sure to check it out!!! read more

I've been coming here for years but just renting. Smooth customer service. Purchased my first firearm (not from the range) and tested it out here and during this pandemic. Busy weekends but smooth weekdays. Recently saw an online post for a handgun and bought it but DROS was down for about a week so I had to wait to register it with the 10 day waiting. But I got the handgun I wanted. A couple older gentlemen were pushy in their service but the young guys wanted to help and inform you more of the firearm. read more

WARNING: There is an dangerous individual at this location on a regular basis that is hostile towards customers. I give this place 1-star solely for a brief moment after the 3 hours spent here, where I felt my life was threatened by this individual. My visit here was initially fine; I was treated well by the staff and the prices were fair. My visit became quite unpleasant when I was exiting the establishment. - A man was standing behind the gun counter, so I had the impression he worked here. He was a dark-skinned Asian about 5'-6", roughly 200lbs. I addressed him as a worker, asking for help with the pistols. He immediately reacted hostile and responded," I DON'T WORK HERE!!!" I was puzzled because of this and so the man followed up by swearing at me and explaining he was a friend of the staff. He was extremely hostile in his demeanor, as if he had a MENTAL PROBLEM. I kept mostly silent not wanting to escalate the situation. My friend asked the man to open up the gun counter. He then started to threaten my friend, my friend then remarking to me, "This guy thinks he's all that." The man then said he was going to wait outside to fight us. I waited inside for a few minutes, so the situation would diffuse. I told my friend to apologize, which we both did. Eventually, we walked outside together and the man followed us in the parking lot, trying to start a fight. He said," You don't know who I am, I could be a cop! I cut people's throats like yours!" and REACHED BEHIND HIS BACK AS IF TO REVEAL A GUN. I told my friend to calm down and just go to the car. We left and he told us, "Never to come back or else there would be trouble!" This is the disturbing part. We called the establishment shortly after and after stating what happened, and the staff member Anthony stated something like," there are two sides to every story", as if we were part of the problem. CONCLUSION: There is a regular who frequents a gun range and stands behind the counter. He is mentally unstable and apparently won't hesitate how he has killed people before and will do the same to you. I assume he was armed being that this was a gun shop. And the staff welcomes into their store a lunatic who threatens the lives of their patrons. Don't come here unless you're prepared to kill/ be killed. You can imagine what would've happened if we responded to his threats... This was one of the worse experiences I've had in an establishment. I advise going to any other gun range in Fresno besides this one. read more

The Range is my favourite shooting facility in Fresno. It is associated with the Police Sciences Institute - a training provider for all levels of law enforcement & security workers. The staff are quietly efficient, tactful when asked for advice & dedicated to maintaining safe, yet enjoyable conditions. You can bring your own gun(s) or rent other firearms (at around $10). Their store carries all types of ammunition - though you can now use your own (prepurchaed) stocks. You are, however, not permitted to use steel cased rounds with any of their rentable guns as this causes excessive wear & tear; etc. Safety glasses & ear defenders are provided in case you have not brought your own. read more

I've been a return customer to The Range and am glad with their customer service every time. Though they do get busy at times, I do not complain about the wait times because the heavy inflow of customers is a true testament to their outstanding customer service. This place is always clean and the workers are always respectful. I love...love...love this gun range. This is the place I like to be and I've been to a few others in town...that's number 1. Why do I love this gun range you ask? Let's start with the staff. Never once have I been in there and not been acknowledged by being greeted (welcomed) immediately. The guys are ALWAYS approachable. Any question I ever had, was answered with knowledge and professionalism. The range experience itself is second to none. When it is a lil busy they do an efficient job at rotating lanes which I think goes unnoticed at times but not by me. They have a wide variety of fire arms and accessories for sale, gun safety classes and more. Look if you are looking to get a firearm and have no experience but a lot of questions. I have been a member of The Range for a long time. I have nothing but good things to say about the people that work there. In reviewing the lower yelp reviews I was socked to see people accusing their employees of being "racist." Many people of color are customers there and some are my friends. I asked some of them if they ever felt any racist overtones from any of the employees. They couldn't believe anyone would accuse anyone there of such things. The reality is there are always going to be people who, for whatever reason, over-personalize the actions of others on an irrational basis. If anyone truly felt marginalized by any of their staff, I would highly recommend that rather than write a negative review, they ask to talk to any of the owners. Happy shooting everyone! read more

THE place to let off some steam and blow your loads, literally. It's my fourth time coming to The Range and I always felt welcomed and not rushed in anyway. Great stuff to look at and touch. All workers and service is great, just a rule of thumb all employees have different personalities and some are more laid back then others but since I am well informed 2nd amendment bastard for 15 years I don't ask stupid questions and have handgun etiquette mannerism. Employees and anybody else don't like when you point the firearms in their directions or other customers, always aim in the safest direction and finger at all times in the direction. Follow these rules and everyone will get along. Other than that they have a great selection of ammo, handguns and accessories. In 2015 handgun are limited due to airheads of the State Capital. Wish it wasn't that way but oh well, we Californians have to work what we have and appreciate it. The restrooms are real clean and great privacy panels in the toilet area for those, "stall peekers". There is also a soda and water machine on deck if you get thirsty while in the indoor range. Also there is sofas and recliners in the middle section of the shop where family or friends who can't be around the indoor range or don't like the noise can wait. Very convenient when you have children around, and it's very safe. Other than that I love this place and I wish it was closer to Selma, if it was it would be five stars automatically. I was in here Saturday and the line was at the door with people wanting to buy guns, target shoot, buy membership, all the guys were working there butts off. One guy was so rude to the employee working behind the counter he thought he should not have to wait his turn like the rest of us, the employee keep Apologizing and tried to help him.
