My DIL had heard they served crustless pizza. yep pizza without any crust/ bread, The pizza is made of fried cheese, never heard of it but have a feeling it's going to in a short time. As I said the pizza is made by frying cheese, it is a 5 cheese blend that is delicious. You can put just about any topping on it. I call in a takeout order for a large crustless with peperoni - onion and mushrooms and a large works. Said it would be ready in 20 min. We got there in 17 min and they had just finished. They look and smelled great, by the time we got them home we just started eating and forgot the photo's. The works crust was just a little under done but the toppings where cooked perfectly and they pile it on. The crustless was just delicious. I don't think we can do pizza again this trip but if I could I would want the crustless. read more

On the recommendation of a friend who's moving into a nearby neighborhood we gave this pizza joint a try. It was honestly up in the air between pizza, barbecue or sushi. I'm so glad pizza won and I'm so sad I live 30 minutes away. On a Sunday afternoon this seemingly small restaurant is actually quite a nice size and has plenty of tables for families and gatherings or intimate lunches/dinners. Even a bar style seating area to have a quick bite and go. Parking is plentiful so no worries there. I was very surprised at how busy they were for lunch. The ambiance is comfortable and casual. Definitely has a "homey" mom and pop feel. That was solidified for me when I last minute added a Greek salad to the order and the cashier (son) said his mom was on it and should only be a couple minutes. Dad was actively making pizzas. So stinking cute. His service was so friendly and genuine. It is easy to tell this family truly has a passion for their cuisine and loves what they do. It's infectious. Ok, so the food. THEIR TALK WALKS THE WALK. I never really believed the whole "oh New York has he best pizza" thing until I went to New York and just so happened to have the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life there. Maybe the fable is true. Maybe it's the water. I don't know. Now I've been to Amici's. I don't have to fly to New York to have my favorite pizza, I can drive 30 minutes. If you're Italian and you try their pizza you can tell how legitimate it is by the sauce alone. THE SAUCE MAKES THIS PIZZA. The thickness, the amount of herbs, the perfect balance between sweet and savory. It's a golden recipe. The cheese to sauce ratio is perfect and the crust doesn't flop under the weight of the ingredients. We were ordering to go (pick up only no delivering) for a group of friends and we ordered a large Hawaiian ($16) and large pepperoni and mushroom ($14). A geek salad ($9), caprese salad, and garlic knots ($2-3). The portions are generous and the flavor is all there. I personally feel the price is spot on. I would pay that and then some for this pizza. The Greek salad was good. Not the net I've ever had but very good and easily fed 4 of us in addition to having a slice of pizza. It was authentic with the home made potato salad. Garlic knots are killer and a must order. I mean their understanding of savory and complimenting herbs is amazing . You can really taste it in their food that they've been doing this a long time and know what they're doing. Seriously some professional home chefs. Their menu is large and has a wide variety of appetizers (mussels and clams in white sauce), pasta and main Italian dishes. Everything was wonderful as it always is very consistently great. I ordered pizza garlic knots and when I went to pick it up I realized they had special deserts. Let me tell you about the most amazing melt in your mouth heavenly lemoncillo desert I got and enjoyed. I love anything lemon but this was out of this world have to get some in addition to the great pizza and food they have to offer. Thanks for a great nights meal my family loved it. This place is a little hard to see, but once you find it, you will love it! The Sicilian is delicious, I am not a thick pizza fan at all but tried a slice once and have never got the regular pizza again. This place is just awesome! I've been coming here for a few years, but very rarely as it's quite a distance from where we live. But I was back in that area on business recently and I stopped in to bring take-home for the whole family. It was even better than I remembered. The regular pizza is terrific...compares favorably with most of the good Pizza places back where I grew up in New York. But the real superstar here is the Sicilian Pizza which is literally as good as ANY I have ever had...including NY and NJ! The key here is the quality of ingredients and the attention to detail of the cooks. All of the ingredients are superb, but the thing which stands out most is the SAUCE...you can tell they are real Italians because their Sauce is thick WITHOUT being chunky...and they get the sweet/flavorful balance just right. They use Oregano and Basil on the Sicilian Pie, but not to such excess that it ruins the flavor of the somewhat sweet sauce. It is a perfect blend. I heard alot of great hype so while back in town, decided to try it. Very disappointed. Salad was soaked with water, to start. The complimentary bread had little taste. I ordered a Chicken Cheese Steak sub, the sub was good, but very small. I also ordered 2 plain slices, being from Jersey....wow was I disappointed. Crust wasn't crispy, too much sauce. I literally left one whole slice. My gf ordered Chicken Marsala and asked for her pasta to have the marsala sauce on top of it as well. Again the pasta wasnt drained at all. Came in a pudde of water with garlic and olive oil tossed on it. The Marsala had no taste other than heavy garlic, portion size was good. Service was slow, the people sat atvthe same time we did, had their pizza, ate and paid as we just got our food. I bought into the hype ane dropped $40+ on mediocre Italian. We moved out to FL and lovin it...but miss the pizza of NJ/NY...Been looking for an authentic NY style pizza place and I finally found it...It's been a year and we have yet to find anything close to the pizza I've been accustomed to. I finally found it...I was referred to go to Amici Pizza because they are the best...So we gave it a try...we order everything from pizza...mozzarella sticks...onions rings...chicken parm dinners and hot subs...they nailed EVERYTHING...it was spot on...EXCELLENT...NY style pizza...my new FAVORITE!!! Pretty good! I took my parents here while visiting them in FL, as it's one of their favorite go-to places. It's not much to look at - in a strip shopping center, not very plush on the inside, but oh my goodness does it smell good in there!! Everyone was happy with their meals, but the bread was the big winner! Each dinner entree came with a salad and a large piece, border-line loaf, of delicious bread, complete with marinara dipping sauce. It was so tasty we just had to request more! I'm reviewing the new location. We tried it for the first time tonight. The line was literally around the building! Oil dripping, ...Check! Chin burn ...check! Crispy crust ...Check! Went here a couple weeks ago on a Sunday evening. This was my second attempt to try this place out. The first time we decided to try them we had seen all their positive reviews on yelp and drove out to check it out for ourselves after a day at the outlets. We got all the way there only to find out that they had recently closed in order to open at a new location. Well that was then and this is now and they are fully open at their new location, so when I heard that I was ready to complete my original mission and try the so highly rated pizza. When we arrived you would have thought it was a full restaurant as there was very little parking and the lot was full with a couple cars parked on the side of the road. Honestly I almost left before ever even parking figuring there was gonna be a long wait with a ton of people. Well I found a spot and headed in and.... The restaurant was half empty!!! Did everyone drive two cars each? Idk. Anyway, they allowed us to seat ourselves as there were plenty of options. The dining room had a cafeteria feeling to it and it was loud. You would have thought there was three times as many people in there than there actually was. They have a barstool area, I guess for people waiting in their pizzas to go as I didn't see any bar service, overlooking an open kitchen. We ordered a large sausage pizza, as that is my go to barometer when trying new pizza places, and some garlic knots. The knots were very good as well was the pizza. We were all especially impressed with the sauce which accompanied the knots and topped the pizza. The prices were very reasonable and I felt like I received a good value for what we got. Overall the food and prices were great, however, the dining room experience needs to be improved somehow. I might just order to go next time. read more

The Sicilian pizza is phenomenal, their garlic knots are probably the best I've ever tasted, and their Jamaican Beef Patties are mouthwatering. If you're looking for that classic pizzeria then do not look any further. The pizza is amazing and everything on the menu is superb. I dine here occasionally since it's not too far from home and cannot complain about the food nor the service. The basic cheese pizza is excellent and so is the chicken parm sub. It was crazy busy on opening day at the new Wesley Chapel location. No parking and took 50+ minutes to get food. The pizza was good, but the wings were dry, tasteless, and RAW. Maybe because they were busy in the kitchen..? I was afraid to send them back--would've taken another 50 minutes to get another order. Overall, pizza was ok, but nothing exceptional. Born and raised in Brooklyn during the 50"s thru the 80"s I have been fortunate to take for granted from terrific $0.15 Neapolitan slices to the original source of thick Siciliano squares .....Italian bakeries and pastry shops. That said, the new Amici Pizzeria was a pleasant discovery plus it's less than a mile from my home. Their pie is the closest thing to NY and their arancini (rice balls) was almost as good as my beloved Sicilian mother lovingly made for her familia! We went to this place because of the reviews and either I don't know pizza or we came here on an off day or I have just higher expectations when it comes to pizza based on other places that I where I have eaten - pretty much all over the country. The restaurant is very basic though that was not a surprise based on the reviews I read - I think a lot of the business they do here are people who order take out given what we noticed while we were eating our food. The pizza is just meh - really nothing to rave about. We ordered a couple of pizzas - one vegetarian and one mainly meat. The vegetarian appeared to have used frozen spinach and was barely passable. The meat pizza was halfway decent but hardly anything to rave about. The server was attentive and polite - which really was the best thing I can say about the entire experience. I know my comments don't agree with the consensus of reviews of this place but I am giving you my candid opinion. We were excited to go to the new location for this restaurant. The food tasted the same as their previous location. However, this restaurant has very large windows everywhere and the sun was shining in from every one of them. Not pleasant eating with sun in your eyes.. The noise level was extremely high. It seems like everyone was trying to shout higher than the other person. No possible way to hold a conversation without shouting. People had their hands over their ears. Saw a few people leave. I have to say that between the shouting and the sun, I left with a headache. The food was good but I won't be going to eat in for a while. I will do takeout next time. read more
