Celebrated my n-th birthday at Amici along Tomas Morato. I took Amici up on its offer of a one-year loyalty card, and I must say that the savings and freebies outweigh the price of the card. My inner accountant is jumping with joy, and happily fist-bumping all the less financially-literate people he meets.
Italian Chips - Ugh. No. Even store-bought prawn crackers taste better. We received this appetizer as one of our complimentary dishes. If given a choice, I would have chosen a different appetizer.
Spinach Artichoke - This is actually parmesan pizza crusts served with a creamy spinach artichoke dip. Delish! All Amici meals should start with this dish, if you ask me.
Flatbread Pizza (Bacon and Caramelized Onions) - Also really, REALLY good. The sweetness of the onions stands out in this dish, and overpowers the saltiness and smokiness of the bacon. This meat-lover did not mind this all too much...at the time. But Amici might want to take another stab at balancing the flavors. Bacon-lovers, you have been warned!
Linguine al Prosciutto e Tartufo - I would have preferred a crispy piece of bacon or panchetta on top of this dish. Visually, I think it will boost the chances that diners would like this dish. As it is, I would probably scan the menu again for a less expensive creamy pasta with mushrooms.
Pollo Arrostito - My favorite dish on Amici's menu. I splurged a bit more tonight and ordered the whole chicken. I wish there were more vegetables on the side. read more
