Went here for a late lunch on a not-so-busy Saturday afternoon (after 1pm). First, I'd like to say that I'm a huge fan of Cibo; my family loves Cibo; my friends and I have loved Cibo for the past 20years. It's good quality food for a decent price.
I haven't been disappointed by Cibo until now....
the last two visit at this particular branch, in the past two months have disappointed me and the family.
This time, though the service was still polite and friendly, the food was surprisingly subpar.
We ordered the usual: spinach dip, mushroom bruschetta, classic spaghetti, porchetta flatbread/pizza....with grape shakes and pomelo shakes.
Our spinach dip tasted bland and lacking in spices/seasoning. It wasn't what we were accustomed to. The fruit shakes were too sugary& sweet, even though we all specifically asked for it to be half-sweetened because we would prefer to taste the actual fruit and not just sugar water. The flat bread was soggy and also lacked in flavor (not to mention, BARELY had any porchetta on it); same goes for the mushroom bruschetta (bland and barely any mushrooms). But the worst was the spaghetti. Usually it is flavorful, perfectly al dente but we got just the opposite: over-cooked, borderline mushy and zero flavor, even after we added salt and pepper. It was such a disappointment.
I don't know if this particular branch ran out of their spice-blends or spice mixes or whatever, but there's a grocery downstairs and they could've easily bought something. There's never an excuse to serve such subpar meals.
Chef Margarita, you need to check out this branch. That's twice it has disappointed. It may turn off other loyal customers. read more
