They offered 8 hour shifts for $42 per hour or 12 hour shifts for $46 per hour. We chose 3, 8 hour shifts. Because they sent new people and there was very little returning providers we had to continually explain Dad's needs and how to care for him. Although we explained how to get to the house, the manager did not include it in the instructions for the providers or they did not review it so we repeatedly had to explain it. Some of the issues we had included: A provider allowed Dad to walk without a walker. A provider left him alone to go into another part of the house to eat. When she went back he had managed to get himself out of bed and across the room. We found him in bed, without a pull-up and the bed was wet. One was over an hour late. We advised them that his hearing aids had to be removed when he slept and that his dog would eat them. They didn't remove them and the dog got one and destroyed it. We were told we needed to give them 48 hours notice. When we gave notice they told the caregiver next on the schedule he was cancelled. There was one outstanding caregiver. Hussein. She was companionate, caring and skilled. We were so happy when she came and she took excellent care of Dad. As we are in our 60's we had hoped Thekey would provide Dad care and help reduce our stress. They actually made caring for Dad more stressful. We would strongly recommend finding care elsewhere.

My dad needed 24-hour care on short notice, just two days. The Key came through with some very good help. I worked directly with Nick, who was fabulous! He listed and asked many good questions about my father and his needs. Nick's team was very hands-on, helping us feel confident that my dad was in good care. Nick was responsive by phone or text. His team came out to meet my dad and set up his team.   I liked that they are a larger agency. They have more resources to ensure coverage and standards to ensure the staff does a good job. And, with Nick's help, I felt like I got personal attention, the best of both worlds. Nick and his team at The Key gave me the confidence that my dad was in good hands. Yes, I would recommend than and will use them again in the future.

NurseRegistry - A top tier RN making $63 an hour left a urine cup on a medication cart?! And she refused to move it..

I worked alongside another RN at a substance abuse facility who had recently been forced to accept a pay cut through Nurse Registry. After her rate dropped to $63/hour, her engagement and quality of care deteriorated significantly. Even more concerning, she appeared to be under the influence of cannabis and failed to follow basic detox screening protocols -- a serious safety risk in this setting. Unfortunately, Nurse Registry no longer seems focused on patient safety or proper nurse placement. The priority now appears to be finding the cheapest nurse willing to accept the lowest rate, rather than ensuring clinical competence or integrity. It's heartbreaking to witness dedicated nurses being exploited -- some traveling over 100 miles to earn $60/hour while the agency bills facilities nearly $180/hour for their services. One nurse even resorted to sleeping in her car because she couldn't afford local lodging. For both facilities and nurses, I strongly advise exercising caution before working with or contracting through Nurse Registry. What was once a respected name in healthcare staffing has unfortunately become a system driven more by profit than patient care or nurse welfare.

I like them so much I've stopped doing regular nursing and just work for them now. You get to say yes or no to any job, can set your own pay scale, and never have to ask anyone for the day off. The freedom and flexibility is incredible. I honestly can't think why anyone would not do this. I have assignments that are appropriate to my skill set and if they ask you to do something you haven't done in awhile (or ever) they will teach you. (Pic line, catheter etc) I'm very happy here.

We had an outstanding experience with Family Matters, and I wanted to share this review because…read morethis is what exemplary care should look like. My 75-year-old mother underwent necessary brain surgery three weeks ago. Three days before surgery, she had a ground-level fall, tore her rotator cuff, and sustained a small fracture. Because the surgery could not be deferred, she proceeded as planned but required significant care at home afterward. She had been fully independent, and although she lives with my father, the caregiving needs were beyond his comfort level. I was able to help for a few days after her discharge, but it was clear they would need additional support for her to remain safely at home. The hospital nurses were wonderful, but my mom needed assistance even with basic tasks like repositioning in bed and using the restroom, as her left arm was immobilized. Our hospital care coordinator connected us with Amy, the client care manager for Family Matters, who met us at home right away. She performed a thorough evaluation and took the time to understand my parents' needs and preferences. Almost immediately, we were connected with KJ, the Director of Operations, who coordinated the caregiving schedule. She ensured an excellent match with caregivers and that coverage was consistent and reliable. Communication was seamless--KJ was always responsive and proactive with updates, and we never felt out of touch. My mom especially wanted to recognize her primary daytime caregiver, Maria. Maria was attentive, warm, and incredibly experienced, with over 20 years in caregiving. She is also an excellent cook and was especially skilled in helping my mom with more vulnerable tasks like showering. The other caregivers who supported nights and weekends were also wonderful. The team clearly put thought and care into matching personalities and backgrounds, which made a meaningful difference. Over the following weeks, my mom gradually regained her independence, and we were able to scale back care smoothly. The team made adjustments easy and seamless. We would absolutely use Family Matters again. This was our first experience with a caregiving service, and we were initially apprehensive, but they made the entire process easy, supportive, and reassuring. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Even more challenging is finding caregivers you can truly trust during such a vulnerable stage of life. A very special thank you to Family Matters, and my father's caregiver, Sade. He is under hospice care with advanced dementia, and can barely speak. Sade is consistently patient, and kind, and gives me complete peace of mind whenever she's caring for him. Most importantly, she engages with him and makes him feel seen. This is in sharp contrast to other caregivers we've experienced who are often on their phones and treat him as if he's invisible. I'm also especially grateful for KJ who manages the caregivers and scheduling. While other agencies haven't taken the time to meet my father or me in person, KJ made it a priority to get hands-on training to fully understand my father's caregiving needs. Because of this, she's been able to step in to provide training and support which is a huge godsend given my limited bandwidth. She even proactively revised the caregiving shift note template to make it clearer and more helpful for our caregiving team. Family Matters has truly exceeded our expectations because they understand the real meaning of caregiving. On top of that, their participation in the Veterans Assistance Program, which requires stricter qualifications provides an added layer of confidence and experience.
