If you need help, Lilia is your person and she will help you with the whole process and give you a school tour, I really felt a warm welcome from her and she answered all the questions I had and made me feel at ease! I love Lilia so much! I love my experience so far, I feel like there is no such thing as a perfect Nursing School, if you like structure and a school with graduates that have 98 percent passing rate for NCLEX this is btw school for you. reading the negative reviews makes me question things, because in order for you to be dropped, it all depends on you! I'm currently taking classes for my BSN but decided I wanted to be certified as a CNA so I could work and get hands on experience while studying. This was the closest school to my home and after checking the CDPH website to make sure they were licensed, I called and took a meeting with Estela Gregory the owner and manager of the school. I was only able to do a weekday course due to my parenting schedule. Their website offers weekday classes and Estela confirmed this in our emails and during our in-person meeting where she requested I pay the full cost of the course, $2500, upfront. I knew the cost of the course was higher than others in LA, but it was the closest to my home and offered the hours I needed. She agreed to let me pay $500 for the uniform and textbooks and we agreed I would pay the reminder on the first day of classes. This was in the middle of June and she said the class would start at the start of July. She didn't have an exact start date and said she would get back to me. She would only allow me to pay the fees on cash or via Zelle as she said she was having an issue with her bank POS and wasn't able to accept payments via credit card. She gave me a hand written receipt and said she would be in touch with the start date. There were a few red flags during this meeting, but I could tell from the amount of materials in her office and separate "classroom" that she had had a large school at one time and she had moved to smaller offices at some point. I had also checked beforehand that she was actually licensed and this made me ignore the warning signs that were going off in my brain. I should have listened to my gut. I waited two weeks and still hadn't heard anything from her. I emailed her a few days before the start of July and got no response. I went to her office but each time it was closed and she was not there since it's a month to month rental and it's only her, she goes in when she needs to. A week into July it became clear that she had no intention of contacting me and I let her know via email multiple times that if I didn't hear from her that I would be reporting her to the BBB, CDPH, and taking her to small claims court. She ignored all my communications until she got the notification from the BBB (which she ignored). She finally called to say that she had been locked out of her emails and she is lost the "PIN". Not only did that not make sense, but it didn't explain the ignored calls and post it notes on her office door. She tried to act like nothing was happening and said she was ordering my textbooks and uniform. I demanded a refund for the money I had given her since it was clear there was no class to be paying for in the first place. She said she would need to speak to her supervisor and get back to me. I said on all the documents and website pages it states she is the owner and CEO, so she has no supervisor. Additionally, the bank account I sent the payment to had only her name on it so legally the money went to her and I would like it back. She said she would call me back and hung up. We did this a few times over the month of July and each time she has said she would send me a payment, but I have still not received anything. I have reported her to CDPH so they can review the issue and hopefully revoke her license so she can't do this to anyone else. I am in the process of small claims court and my ultimate goal is to let others know what happened to me so it doesn't happen to them. Estela Gregory is not an honest person and will flat out steal your money. The audacity that she asked for the whole $2500 upfront....I have since seen one review from another person that says she has done the same to them. DO NOT GIVE THIS WOMAN ANY OF YOUR MONEY! I went to two campus and want to seek information but their refused to speak with me because they are not their online program. They failed me for my women health with my own preceptor and my preceptor really didn't understand and refer me back the school NO instructor was helping during that time when I was clincial. They failed my women health ( which now I know it's does need to be OBGYN but just women health) I asked if I can complete my MSN without FNP and they said no They said they will give me th clincial hours documentation but never provide one. All the records from the school email were gone because I am not allow to get into school email anymore. I want to share this because I was afraid of retaliation from these profit school and who know what they did do your computer at home to track you. I live like ten minutes away and was excited for the chance to hang out and see the campus. I guess this branch of Emerson is funded by some very wealthy alumni in entertainment, and there's a definite focus on the industry. Emerson students spend semesters in Los Angeles, staying in the dorms and interning at various sites around town. I enjoyed meeting my friend's students and they seemed pretty happy with their experience of the school. The building was quite remarkable, a bold piece of architecture that nods to Frank Gehry. Deb showed me around and I was thoroughly impressed. I drive past the place all the time and am glad I got to see inside. I'll bet it's a fun place to spend a semester.
