Hello all new students! I want to begin by thanking LACC…read morefor this huge opportunity to join their phlebotomy program. Be ready to walk in circles. -admissions requires official transcripts but NEVER notifies you that they have been received and you can't get in contact to confirm -they require approval for outside credits but you will wait months before getting a counseling appointment for review of transcripts -I had to make multiple appointments for counselors mistakes and misinformation to which they are not apologetic for. -counselors are NOT trained and waste your time to review credits after you've waiting a month just to be able to make an appointment and then another 2 weeks because the first counselor didn't submit credits correct(I was given 3 separate answers-yes all are transferable, no only a couple, then finally, yes more than a couple but not all credits are transferable which ultimately brought creditably of school and counselors into question) I was told the school doesn't have proper funding so they do their best to give you correct credits but ultimately felt like I was being scammed into taking more credits so they could make money. I was also recommended to just sign up for classes even if they weren't the right ones because it's better to be in a class while I wait on credit approval. -they make you pay for parking but don't enforce rules -campus is disgusting especially AD building and restrooms -homeless camp there and do drugs and doesn't feel safe

As a fellow yelper said it so well.. are we really going to rate USC on Yelp? LOL!!…read more I am delighted and thrilled to share I am now an alumna of USC. As a yelper here for over 13 years, I don't sugarcoat my words (or in my reviews), and I don't intend to do so here either. The USC program is rigorous and not for everyone. There were so many readings that I often genuinely wondered if it was even humanly possible to get through them all. Granted, I am a slow reader, and that certainly did not help. Beyond the beautiful campus and the prestige that comes with the school, more importantly know that there is no financial aid for tuition fees for master program. Education does not come cheap. Still I am grateful for the learning experience and for my many professors who were simply wonderful and amazing professionals. A big shout out to Dr. Julianna Kirschner, Professor Monica Koyama, Dr. Muthuswamy and Dr. Courtney Pade. P.S. I do wish I had been in the class of Dr. Bracero and Dr. Akira; I have heard so many amazing things about them.

I didn't attend this prestigious University; however, I joke that I am an honorary alumna. My brothers from another mother all graduated from here, and I attend Homecoming with them every year. In fact, I used to work with Eddie Tannenbaum who discovered Traveler (USC's Mascot) when he was a junior in 1961. The campus is beautiful and features several Romanesque Revival style buildings. A portion of the main campus was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. The Coliseum is in walking distance. I've attended many football games here over the years and have seen Clay Matthews, Reggie Bush, Mark Sanchez, & Matt Leinart play. I remember the glory days of Pete Carroll. Our favorite tailgate party is the one hosted by LAMBDA. They have a great DJ, delicious food, a premium bar, fun activities and, of course, fabulous attendees! This year we were treated to yummy eats from Bludso's BBQ & tasty treats by Ice Cream Occasions. When the party was over, we all headed to the Coliseum for the match between the Trojans & the Huskies. Sadly, we lost this game but we will continue to Fight On!

Parking was $220 + Sales Tax during Fall/Spring semesters. Winter/Summer are a bit cheaper. As a business major, professors here in my experience weren't the best. Rarely you'll get a highly knowledgeable professor with legit experience in the field you're studying in. Some professors just make me wonder how in the world they get to teach in the first place. For example, we had an HR professor making us type 10 page essays every week with no substance to it. Overall: I did enjoy my experience here. I did what I can in those 2 years, 1 year being remote. Worked here as a SA. There's definitely a lot of improvements needed to be made. From school initiatives, in-house internships, old buildings that need to be replaced, library study room filled with mold, administration-student relationships etc. Students should be more engaging here and I just didn't get the vibe here in most classes. My recommendation if you're considering going here is to do as much research as you can and try your best to foster self-initiatives and join clubs or work on campus. Key Takeaways: - CSULA is a commuter school so expect many students to not being sociable or engaging. Many friends I've talked to who went here agreed on the same thing. - Lots of politics - CSULA is conveniently located by the I-710 and I-10 freeways. - Food Court consist of Fast Food (El Pollo Loco, Carl's Jr., Panda Express etc) (Not many food choices near by campus) - Old buildings. Some with mold on them or elevators not working. - WiFi Connection in Salazar Hall or King Hall may be weak for some.

I tried to appeal the grade from ATI via message and they didnt . I was always a good student driving 4 to 5 hours to school and maintain good grade expecially during my pregnancy x 2 . I had a job and I went into the hosptial due to the event for walking out to the traffic. No school or support from them I was forced to retake the class and stay into the ATI extra class. and I graduated and passed my NCLEX first try. They advertised a online FNP program and I took it. FIrst they had me to take general course for MSN and then get me into the FNP. Then, I asked for clincial sites and they didn't really suport. During some meeting , they did not allow students to discuss about their concern and had then refer back their preceptor. I went to two campus and want to seek information but their refused to speak with me because they are not their online program. They failed me for my women health with my own preceptor and my preceptor really didn't understand and refer me back the school NO instructor was helping during that time when I was clincial. They failed my women health ( which now I know it's does need to be OBGYN but just women health) I asked if I can complete my MSN without FNP and they said no They said they will give me th clincial hours documentation but never provide one. Even 1 start s not deserved for the review. It feels like they have no interest in helping students at all. The communication is so poor that by the time they manage to return your call-if they ever do-you could already be graduating from another school. It's clear that supporting students is not a priority for them. From what I've experienced, they don't seem to care about their image or reputation. The staff are unapproachable, unresponsive, and at times outright disrespectful. It's truly frustrating trying to reach anyone or get basic questions answered, especially Stacy M.

Over the years, the focus on student education has faded, and they even fired a few incredible instructors, Though there are still a few instructors who truly try their best, it's disheartening to see that the ones who really care often get the short end of the stick. I completed the IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certification course at Los Angeles Career College,…read moreand I have to say--this place runs smoother than most hospital floors I've worked on. The staff was organized, check-in was easy, and the hybrid format made the whole process painless (unlike some IV attempts I've witnessed in real life). What really impressed me was how efficient everything was. Once I passed my exam, they handed me my certificate the same day--no waiting, no chasing emails, no mysterious "processing time." Just boom. Certified. I wish everything in healthcare worked that fast. Now for the real highlight: Instructor Steele Erickson. Steele is the kind of nursing instructor you secretly hope for but never expect to get. He breaks down IV therapy and blood withdrawal with such clarity and patience that even tricky techniques suddenly feel manageable. He teaches with a calm, supportive energy that makes everyone relax. He's incredibly knowledgeable, genuinely invested in every student, and somehow keeps the class both educational and entertaining. As someone with 25+ years in healthcare, I can confidently say instructors like Steele do not grow on trees. If you're considering getting your IV Certification, go to Los Angeles Career College and hope you get Steele Erickson as your instructor. You'll walk away confident, competent, and wondering why every nursing class can't be this smooth. Highly recommended!

Here's the same version with favoritism added:…read more I am writing anonymously as a recent CNA student and state skills test candidate at Los Angeles Career College. My California CNA skills exam was confirmed in the official TMU/Headmaster system, but days before the test the school emailed and told me it was cancelled and that it "would not take place" if I showed up. TMU told me my exam was still scheduled and even had to call the school to remind them they were required to test me. On test day there were other students testing at the site, even though the administrator had told me there was no exam and that exams would no longer be offered there, which left me feeling singled out and misled. Throughout the program, it often felt like some students received more support and opportunities than others, which gave me the impression of favoritism rather than equal treatment. The school promotes itself as professional and student‑focused, but the way my exam was handled did not feel fair or transparent. I recommend future students closely monitor their TMU account, save all confirmations, and be ready to advocate for themselves.
