I was able to do Monday thru Friday for clinicals and they were very helpful and I had a great experience. I am also signing up for the EKG program to make myself more competitive. The phlebotomy instructor, Mr.K is a no nonsense instructor, he is there to make sure you are prepared and ready to take the NHA exam. He is very knowledgeable and patient. He is a great instructor but be ready to work hard, practice and learn. He is willing to allow students who have passed the exam to come and practice which is always a plus to gain more experience.

She told me that after completing a program that they offer which is clearly designed for entry level employment ( I would struggle to get a job) she said the only way to guarantee job employment was to take another class... I feel like she was just trying to upsell me a class I did not want to take. Not to mention none of the other schedules worked for me. She basically tried to playme for a fool. I'm currently taking classes for my BSN but decided I wanted to be certified as a CNA so I could work and get hands on experience while studying. This was the closest school to my home and after checking the CDPH website to make sure they were licensed, I called and took a meeting with Estela Gregory the owner and manager of the school. I was only able to do a weekday course due to my parenting schedule. Their website offers weekday classes and Estela confirmed this in our emails and during our in-person meeting where she requested I pay the full cost of the course, $2500, upfront. I knew the cost of the course was higher than others in LA, but it was the closest to my home and offered the hours I needed. She agreed to let me pay $500 for the uniform and textbooks and we agreed I would pay the reminder on the first day of classes. This was in the middle of June and she said the class would start at the start of July. She didn't have an exact start date and said she would get back to me. She would only allow me to pay the fees on cash or via Zelle as she said she was having an issue with her bank POS and wasn't able to accept payments via credit card. She gave me a hand written receipt and said she would be in touch with the start date. There were a few red flags during this meeting, but I could tell from the amount of materials in her office and separate "classroom" that she had had a large school at one time and she had moved to smaller offices at some point. I had also checked beforehand that she was actually licensed and this made me ignore the warning signs that were going off in my brain. I should have listened to my gut. I waited two weeks and still hadn't heard anything from her. I emailed her a few days before the start of July and got no response. I went to her office but each time it was closed and she was not there since it's a month to month rental and it's only her, she goes in when she needs to. A week into July it became clear that she had no intention of contacting me and I let her know via email multiple times that if I didn't hear from her that I would be reporting her to the BBB, CDPH, and taking her to small claims court. She ignored all my communications until she got the notification from the BBB (which she ignored). She finally called to say that she had been locked out of her emails and she is lost the "PIN". Not only did that not make sense, but it didn't explain the ignored calls and post it notes on her office door. She tried to act like nothing was happening and said she was ordering my textbooks and uniform. I demanded a refund for the money I had given her since it was clear there was no class to be paying for in the first place. She said she would need to speak to her supervisor and get back to me. I said on all the documents and website pages it states she is the owner and CEO, so she has no supervisor. Additionally, the bank account I sent the payment to had only her name on it so legally the money went to her and I would like it back. She said she would call me back and hung up. We did this a few times over the month of July and each time she has said she would send me a payment, but I have still not received anything. I have reported her to CDPH so they can review the issue and hopefully revoke her license so she can't do this to anyone else. I am in the process of small claims court and my ultimate goal is to let others know what happened to me so it doesn't happen to them. Estela Gregory is not an honest person and will flat out steal your money. The audacity that she asked for the whole $2500 upfront....I have since seen one review from another person that says she has done the same to them. DO NOT GIVE THIS WOMAN ANY OF YOUR MONEY! Hope this helps someone.

I maintained great grades, helped my classmates study, and spent countless hours making sure the people around me succeeded. I wasn't just another student I genuinely cared about becoming an LVN and wanted everyone around me to succeed as well. Before everything happened, I proudly promoted CDI because I truly believed it was an amazing school. I posted a video about my experience that went viral, and because of that, I had numerous people reach out asking about the program and wanting to enroll. I spoke highly of CDI because I believed in what they stood for. Looking back now, I regret encouraging people to attend a school that ultimately showed me so little grace. After posting a video from my first day of skills lab, I was placed on a leave of absence. I removed the video when I was instructed to, but that isn't the point. The point is that I was forced to sit out for nearly four months over what I believe was a minor, first-time mistake. By the time I was able to return, I no longer wanted to. The way I was treated completely changed how I viewed the school. What made everything even more frustrating was watching what I believed to be inconsistent discipline. During my time in the program, I was aware of students who had been involved in much more serious incidents at clinical sites, yet they remained in the program. Meanwhile, I lost months of my education over a social media post that I immediately corrected when asked. I never felt like CDI advocated for me as a student. Instead, I felt like protecting relationships with clinical sites mattered more than standing behind a student who had worked hard, earned good grades, and genuinely wanted to become a nurse. This experience delayed my education, cost me time and money, and took a serious toll on my mental health. I am now beginning therapy because of the emotional impact this experience has had on my life. I hope CDI realizes that behind every student is a person with dreams, responsibilities, and a future. Accountability is important, but so is fairness, consistency, and giving people the opportunity to learn from a mistake. Unfortunately, I don't feel I was given that opportunity.
