Almost empty at closing time

This one was the best trip in the last three years. The last two times there was an issue. This time, no complaints. Food order correct, lanes didn't crash, drink orders perfect. Staff (complete new set of faces) friendly to everyone in our party. 22 Of course we will be back. Today there was incentives to travel past two other lanes to bowl here. Thank you

$200 for a family of 4 on a Friday night? Cmon now be for real. This is just not feasible

Tuesday night!
Alayna D.

Sheridan Lanes has really stepped up its game since my last visit. The scoring system is all touch screen, and you can even take a pictures to go on your screen! We came on a Tuesday night for 2$ games and shoes after 8:00pm. It was pretty busy, but we had a great time. Beers are $2.44 on Tuesday as well! Sheridan Lanes has plenty of space. I could do for some more seating around the lanes, but there are two large sections of lanes. When we came one side was for league play and the other side was for those of us who are less serious bowlers and were just there for the $2.44 beers :) There were plenty of families there when our group was as well. So two dollar night is for everyone! I can't speak about the food, but I would assume that it is typical bowling alley fare. We had a lovely time on a Tuesday night, and I'm sure you will too. Don't forget to bring your socks!

I was bowling a solo game on the 5th frame with 15 minutes left until close and the front desk guy shut my lane off without warning.

This isn't the newest or nicest bowling alley, but they definitely have positives that make up for it.

Fly Loft - Entrance

Downtown

As a dancer with no studio, finding affordable practice space is a common challenge. On average,…read moremost studios charge $30-60 an hour for renting a space. This is in addition to the challenge of scheduling times available for use. Fly Loft used to be ridiculously affordable in the past, having a special nonprofit rate of $15 per hour. Recently, they have had to increase their rates to $25 an hour which is still reasonable, but it's getting closer to what other for profit studios charge. I'm not sure what the reasoning behind the increase is but I'm thinking it might be pandemic or staff shortage related. Overall, Fly Loft has been such a life saver! All the staff I've had to deal with (3 different ones) are extremely friendly, attentive and accommodating. It's great to have a smooth process for scheduling recurring practices. Mallory is usually the one that is working when we use the space and she's super helpful, whether sharing the wi-fi password or opening the mirror curtains for us. In terms of the space, they have three rehearsal spaces available, all with sprung floors which offer increased support for joints and muscles and reduces fatigue in the legs when leaping/jumping, etc. They each have mirrors on the east wall, acoustic sound bars around the room and a speaker system with plug input. The only thing that varies between the spaces is size. The first space is the biggest one, with capacity for 150 people. The second space has a capacity for 120 people and the third space is the smallest with 80 max occupancy. They also have a conference room for up to 16 guests and other rental options like projectors, screens, tables, etc.

Fly Loft is an interesting space, because it is sort of multi-use, but in a strange way. I'm…read morepretty sure that this is where the Tulsa Symphony offices are, but also lots of people use Fly Loft for rehearsals or for an audition space. So I say it's "multipurpose in a weird way" because it's a place where people work, but that other people rent out to use too. If it were me working there, I'd probably get distracted by other people coming in to practice different stuff, but I guess it works. And to be fair, I'm sure the building is probably bigger than what I think it is/ what I've seen of it, because I've never really run into any of the office spaces/ Symphony workers before. Or maybe that's just because I've only been during non traditional working hours? I don't know, but long story short, it seemingly hasn't been an issue to have it be used for different purposes. I've been there for different things probably 4 or 5 times. I always think it's nice. When you walk in, there's a front desk, an elevator, and stairs. When you go up the stairs, it's kind of like a hallway that has a few different rooms. On the right side are the offices, which seem fairly small but I haven't actually looked inside, and on the left side are the more rehearsal space type rooms. I think there's only 2 or 3 of them, and I believe they are about the same size? Black dance floors with one wall as a full mirror. That's about it, so it's pretty basic/ simple in the rooms themselves, like most other similar spaces. One of the cool things to me about Fly Loft is that they have a little kitchen that you can (I think?) use. Well, I've never used it myself nor have I seen anyone else use it while I've been there, so maybe it's only for the people who actually work there, but I can't imagine that that's the case. I just think having that is a nice little extra element to have. It's almost kind of comforting to have it there. It makes it feel like a more "official" space too. The only real thing I don't like about Fly Loft is the parking situation. It's downtown (so, enough said!) and they don't really have their own lot, just a few spaces right out front, and even those I don't believe are free most of the time. Main reason for 4 stars instead of 5, though I know it's not really THEIR fault. It also isn't able to hold TONS of people (because other than the rooms it's kind of just a wide-ish hallway) but it's good for what it's good for. Overall a cool, in-the-city type of atmosphere, so I like having rehearsals here... again, I just wish I didn't have to stress about where to park!

There's never been an issue, even from people who rented out the place. I've seen this place be arranged so many different ways with decor. It's Downtown in the Guthrie Green area (technically the Tulsa Arts District). A bonus is that The Canopy is surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries & much more. Everything is well within walking distance. Check out their rates + booking info on their website.

They've completely remodeled the space and made it bright and lively. It's located by Guthrie Green downtown, next to Valkyrie. The walls are white and there's a skylight on the tall ceiling that allows natural light to pour in. It is lovely! Its name comes from the fact that they have over 20 plants which serve as natural decoration. They definitely create a fresh and lively vibe. The capacity is 100 people depending on the room setup. They have long tables they can setup family style. The wood slatted folding chairs used for the event weren't the most comfortable/body-inclusive but they're cute. They partner with 21 1/2 Boutique Hotel to provide spouse suites for weddings and full kitchen. Outside catering and alcohol is allowed with a license. Overall, it's a cool space.

I really wish I remembered the drink I had the first time around, what I do remember is that it was really good. The drink I had recently was the Don Diego de La Ve & it's something I'd get again + would be my usual. Anything tequila, it's automatic (rum is right there at a very close 2nd) when it comes to an alcohol beverage + cocktail. Has addition of ancho reyes, a chile liqueur, that's super subtle in the drink along with lemon lime & agave. My homie looked at my drink & said that's something he should've ordered. *Side Note* I took a look at the menu & I'm convinced I had the Cousin Eddie (when I first visited this place). As I stated that rum is a close 2nd to tequila & the Cousin Eddie has Bumbu (rum) that I already enjoy on its own.

I was glad to see the event return BUT there were fewer vendors than pre-COVID (which I totally get). There were two or three cacti vendors but the Master Gardener event where they sell off surplus plants from Linnaeus or their own gardens was absent. Major sad face here. There are also usually a LOT of herb vendors. Not so much. As you can see, I'm still rating this a four because it is an event that's back!
