Best place ever to take beginner, intermediate, and advanced ballroom lessons. Great instructors and a good place to meet new people.

This location has a big parking lot and a couple of spots in the front if you just need to run in…read morequickly to pick something up. This is the location for buying ballet tickets or picking up season tickets. The kickoff to the ballet season starts here with the Special K Creations. It was very intimate stage and seating, the seats provided great views. I loved watching the blend of new pieces, more contemporary ballet set to all kinds of beautiful and different music. It really show cased another side of ballet. I loved it and think I will bring my husband next year as he would enjoy the differences.

I would like to share my experience at "The Nutcracker" performance…read more First, this is a ballet it is not simply "The Nutcracker" nor a parody - it is Tchaikovsky's masterpiece known around the world for its music. However, you did not even put Tchaikovsky's name on the cover of the program, website, or billboards and mentioned his name only somewhere inside the program after the artistic manager, premiere sponsor, production team, etc. It looks not simply strange for art lovers - it looks inappropriate. Since the late 1960s, "The Nutcracker" has been danced by many ballet companies, especially in North America. Major American ballet companies generate around 40% of their annual ticket revenues from performances of this ballet. Its score has been used in several film adaptations of Hoffmann's story. I think at least these facts are enough to give tribute to Tchaikovsky's musical talent. Second, Chocolate (Spanish Dance), Coffee (Arabian Dance) Tea (Chinese Dance) were all performed in the costumes reflecting the nature of these dances and the composer's intent. However, Trepak (Russian Dance) instead of traditional Russian costumes was performed in golden driller costumes (yellow work costumes and hard hats). What is it if not erasing Russian culture or in the best case mocking Russian culture? It looks especially absurd given that Tchaikovsky is a great Russian composer. There are many things going on in politics in the modern world, but it cannot justify the vandalism of Russian culture. This is a few minute fragment of the Russian dance from "The Nutcracker" how it is supposed to look. https://youtu.be/1_vP7M0Cock?si=boHqAXKesfNVJTEO My husband, our friends and I left after the scene with the "Russian dance" in American oil worker costumes. We regularly attend symphony concerts, chamber music concerts, etc. Tulsa is a very culturally rich city. However, after what we saw at your performance, we will not be back to any Tulsa ballet performances. Perhaps, somebody from the "creative team" will decide to put clown outfits on the performers in "Dance of The Knights" from S. Prokofiev's ballet "Romeo and Juliet." ???!

This place is definitely the place to go to learn something new…read more They have amazing classes such as dancing, PiYo, and all sorts of things, quite a lot of art classes. Photography, art, dancing, voice lessons, acting/drama, and working out for some. To keep track of their classes and schedule they use a really awesome app called "MindBody Connect". They even have a summer workshop going on this summer which my little brother and one of my niece's are going to. They also have a ton of groups! Some of which are the Writer's Inspiration Group, Artist Support Group, and Writing Group. My mom goes to the PiYo classes and enjoys them a lot. I displayed my art there! That's right, you can display your art at this wonderful place! Just contact Byn, the owner and ask. My art is currently hanging on their walls as of 05/24/15 (it may not be there in a few weeks). The decor is beautiful, it has a kind of Tumblr feel to it, yet vintage in a way as well. Large crystals sit on unique tables in the cozy first room. Plenty of sitting space in the first room as well. Their dog wanders throughout their place, greeting customers and trying to even attempt to go home with them! The dog is really well minded, and it just will steal your heart as you go to your class(s)! This place can be difficult for some to find, but that's because it's in a interesting building behind another building. There is also a tree which can block the sign which is why some people have a hard time seeing it. My dad and I had no such trouble and parked in the large parking lot happily. The confusing thing about going in is that next to the door to their place is a door for another place, which I know nothing about and was closed when I went. I almost went in there though! Whoops! *chuckles* There is then a hallway inside from the first room which leads onto several other rooms, one is a office room, another a photograph room (where they take photos!) and another is a storage, and another a makeup room. But a little off of the first room is the room where you would learn dance and have exercise classes, big mirrors and nice floors for working out are in this room, even a SUPER tiny kitchen. Overall, the Always family is so kind and generous and definitely fun, don't be afraid to ask them questions and figure out what you want to learn. I think they give such a needed addition to Tulsa by adding a place where all can learn, talk and have fun. Don't forget to check their site so you can see ALL the listed classes because they keep having more and more classes!

The pools are virtually unusable. If you take a tour and they try to give you the line that the therapy pool is around 95 & the regular pool is about 86, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! The heaters have been broken for MONTHS now. That's right, I said months. The temp today was 76 in the therapy pool & 78 in the main. Even when they were working, the temps would range wildly. They were never the same temp twice. The therapy pool could be 83 one day and over 100 a few days later. They. Just. Don't. Care. They refused to add proper chlorine to the pools for months as well. It took repeated calls to the health dept to get them to FORCE them to get it up to level. "Oh, how bad could it be?" you ask. The proper level is supposed to be 7.2. The therapy pool was .2 to .5. For MONTHS. That is very dangerous & unhealthy. They were cloudy all the time and smelled. The saunas were down for a long time. I was told there was black mold in the ladies locker room one for a very long time, but even at that, they refused to fix it. Or CLOSE IT! Even with black mold. The showers were broken for over a year before they got fixed despite dozens of requests to fix them. It was not a complex plumbing issue, it was REPLACING A SHOWER HEAD!! Get the picture? They care about your money, not you. Then they will not spend any to keep things fixed. They will tell you anything to get you to sign up, but if you ever have a problem, you are all the way out of luck. So if you believe the "C" in "YMCA" stands for "Christian" - nope. WWJD? Care enough about people to keep things fixed.
