Fun fact-- our couch always creaked when you sit on it and once they took it apart to move it and put it back together, it didn't creak any more! Wow! We compared the price of other movers in the area and they were by far the most cost effective. I would absolutely recommend them to a friend and wouldn't think twice about using this company again.

From misquoting, to not having the right size trucks that they tried to shove our belongings into. To all the damaged, lost, or stolen property. This was also back in July. We submitted a claim, still nothing. The person that came to our home, tried to bully us, now to find out he is no longer there as he has been arrested. The new person wants us to start all over, they have all of our information have had plenty of time. This is already two months out. They even raised our price during the move! Day one, packing! Thank goodness I did the bulk, but let them do some stuff. Lets just say I found glass jars thrown in a box with canned goods. I went through each kitchen box they packed and repacked. Also found one cabinet was still unpacked. They wanted to wrap 65" tvs in blankets. I went and bought boxes and we did it ourselves yet they had charged us for them! Seriously. Then they destroyed the boxes in the move. So much damage to furniture. They brought two trucks but one was not the correct one, ended up getting a third truck and then they switched the two smaller trucks for a big one. Am adding a few pictures of their damage, again this is only a sample. Yet they don't want to pay anything, one excuse after another. Do not trust this company. Weird as I look at reviews, I have an email from Andrew stating they have never had a bad review. I see several.

I've moved across the country and between the US/Canada multiple times, this has been my worst experience. 1. The quote originally provide and reviewed did not clearly call out the extra cost of insurance which resulted in a surprise $300+ added to the bill at the end. I would have gone with another moving company if I had understood the full cost upfront. 2. We had trouble getting the moving truck into the pick up community, the driver went straight to telling me I would have to pay an extra fee because of it and when I called the representative he said he would look into it. Eventually we got the truck in and started the move but the representative never called back to check-in to see how things were going, understanding that the day did not get off to a positive start you would think he would check in again. 3. The representative told us there was no problem moving our 380lbs hot tub, when the truck driver got there he was not happy to find out he was moving a full-size hot tub and said he was told it was a blow up on. Very poor communication. 4. The truck driver insisted on taking apart all furniture, even pieces that were purchased already put together. We insisted on a few pieces of furniture not be taken apart, he only listen to some of it and still took apart others. 5. On arrival some of the furniture was put back together wrongly or not well and we had to reassemble. 6. On arrival pieces were missing from a TV stand, the driver said he either left them at a warehouse he was at the day before and if not he would replace the pieces for us. He ended up replacing some of the pieces but not all and when we requested he replace the rest of the missing pieces he stopped communicating with us. He did not write down the missing pieces on paper work because he did not want it to go on his record and I trusted he would stand by his word of replacing them but ultimately I was wrong and will never do that again. 7. We paid extra for two TVs to be packed for us, they did not get damaged but the packing was poor and not worth the money.

This company screwed me over royally. Stay far away. Atlas…read moreVan Lines and their agent, California Moving Systems, along with the contracted day laborers they hired (who are not actual Atlas or CMS employees), completely destroyed my belongings and my trust in the moving industry. I started the process optimistic, having been strongly referred to California Moving Systems by my realtor, Terri Chapman of Chapman Realty Group in El Dorado Hills, CA. Not only did both Atlas and California Moving Systems take zero responsibility for the damage they caused, but my own realtor -- after collecting her full commission and repeatedly pushing me to use this company -- completely abandoned me the moment problems surfaced. Her slogan, "I've got your back," now just conjures images of betrayal. She orchestrated the entire move, managed every detail, and then vanished right alongside Atlas and California Moving Systems when the disasters started piling up. My story is unfortunately not unique -- it mirrors the majority of the negative reviews already posted about these companies. The move cost me $34,000, and working with Atlas Van Lines and California Moving Systems was an absolute nightmare. They broke well over 120 items -- I literally lost count. Most shocking was how they managed to destroy a massive quartz rock that requires 2-3 grown men just to lift, pack, and move. Among the broken items: my $23,000 couch, my $2,000 Jensen Leisure Swing, yard art, nearly all my dishes and glassware, a shattered wood partition, and countless holiday decorations (Christmas and Halloween). The list goes on and on. They also lost items, including a lamp shade. Their so-called "guarantee" is completely meaningless. The customer service is nonexistent. Do not waste your money or your sanity on these companies. They are professional at one thing only: ruining people's possessions while disappearing when you need them most.

We used to live next door to the owner & adored he & his wife. 3. Family friends with the estimator - who truly was sorry for our experience 4. I am a real estate agent & refer Shetler on a regular basis. 5. We have never taken out extra insurance. Our experience has been good & it never warranted it. We were told the crew they had now was the best they have had in years. Spending thousands of dollars with a reputable moving company should serve for something, right? The crew we had worked hard, were very respectful & we tipped them well. Moving is hard work & it was hot. But the negligence this time we thought had to be lack of training? Nothing was wrapped. Floors were not protected. Dolly's were not padded. A completely different experience from our last 2 recent moves. This is obviously the reason for the extensive damage to our furniture, walls & flooring. Negligence & lack of training. I really couldn't believe all the damage once it was truly able to be assessed. We were told we had to fill out a claim (I have over 60 photos of damage). The time I have spent on making my furniture look presentable & filing a claim is countless hours. I was told a magic eraser could take a lot of that off. I was told vacuuming could do that to the base of the furniture. Again, we did not take our extra insurance. Obviously their mojo is deny, accuse & turn any accountability around on the customer no matter what the history- our history was good. The treatment we have received has been complete disrespect & denial of any wrongdoing, questioning our integrity & saying we were slandering them. Instead of being empathic, they accused us of having prior damage. Let's not forget that Shetler has moved us every time. I have continued to ask what standard protocol is for a move? I even asked this question on a video of their Facebook page . My comment has been deleted & I have been blocked from their page. We spent thousands on this move going 10 minutes away($4400) . Nobody would ever tell what a basic move should include. I was told that each move was different. Again, no accountability. They decided to offer us a $500 good faith gesture & give us the .60/pound for the damaged items. The total of $1211 was comical. They said they could recommend a furniture repair person because we didn't take out the extra insurance. If you go to Two Men & a Truck they clearly layout what is to be expected & how the furniture will be wrapped & flooring protected. The treatment that was given to us as loyal customers was unacceptable. They want us to sign a release & take the money. This is not about the money. This is about doing what is right & hoping nobody else has this experience. We will not be signing any release or accepting a penny from them. I had really hoped Shetler would make this right & I would just not refer them anymore. It saddens me that our experience made me feel that I had to share.
