1. We were loyal customers of Shetler Moving & Storage- we have moved 3 times in the last 8 years. We used them every time. 2. We used to live next door to the owner & adored he & his wife. 3. Family friends with the estimator - who truly was sorry for our experience 4. I am a real estate agent & refer Shetler on a regular basis. 5. We have never taken out extra insurance. Our experience has been good & it never warranted it. We were told the crew they had now was the best they have had in years. Spending thousands of dollars with a reputable moving company should serve for something, right? The crew we had worked hard, were very respectful & we tipped them well. Moving is hard work & it was hot. But the negligence this time we thought had to be lack of training? Nothing was wrapped. Floors were not protected. Dolly's were not padded. A completely different experience from our last 2 recent moves. This is obviously the reason for the extensive damage to our furniture, walls & flooring. Negligence & lack of training. I really couldn't believe all the damage once it was truly able to be assessed. We were told we had to fill out a claim (I have over 60 photos of damage). The time I have spent on making my furniture look presentable & filing a claim is countless hours. I was told a magic eraser could take a lot of that off. I was told vacuuming could do that to the base of the furniture. Again, we did not take our extra insurance. Obviously their mojo is deny, accuse & turn any accountability around on the customer no matter what the history- our history was good. The treatment we have received has been complete disrespect & denial of any wrongdoing, questioning our integrity & saying we were slandering them. Instead of being empathic, they accused us of having prior damage. Let's not forget that Shetler has moved us every time. I have continued to ask what standard protocol is for a move? I even asked this question on a video of their Facebook page . My comment has been deleted & I have been blocked from their page. We spent thousands on this move going 10 minutes away($4400) . Nobody would ever tell what a basic move should include. I was told that each move was different. Again, no accountability. They decided to offer us a $500 good faith gesture & give us the .60/pound for the damaged items. The total of $1211 was comical. They said they could recommend a furniture repair person because we didn't take out the extra insurance. If you go to Two Men & a Truck they clearly layout what is to be expected & how the furniture will be wrapped & flooring protected. The treatment that was given to us as loyal customers was unacceptable. They want us to sign a release & take the money. This is not about the money. This is about doing what is right & hoping nobody else has this experience. We will not be signing any release or accepting a penny from them. We had a fantastic moving experience. Great crew, excellent teamwork and care for our belongings and for both of our homes. We were hoping to move in one day and with very hard work, very little break the team accomplished this for us. The team leader was very courteous and communicated extremely well. Please do not spend your hard earned money with this group. They are unethical and misleading. Shetler bought Geiger in 2017 so beware. We had a very simple local move. Our two piece china cabinet was damaged, the walnut floor in the new house was scratched deeply in our dining room, multiple walls damaged in the house, a massage chair taken apart and not put back together. Weeks and weeks of emails and missed promises, and after 5 months I settled on a $728 check for about $4000 in damage. They are crooks. read more

This company operates very sneaky. They forced me to buy the insurance but they didn't want to cover the damage. I complained to their manager but nothing happened. It was a mess. The driver was so lazy and his name is Michael but forgot his last name. I also complained to BBB, but I had moved on... I agree with other reviewer that I would give a minus if it is available. If I could give them no stars, I would. Do not use this company. 6 months later, I am still dealing with the fall out of this move from hell. They hire drivers who then are required to hire packers. The "packers" we had came from 2 hours away. We had people leaving early, we had people quitting in the middle of the job, most didn't know how to pack. Turns out they didn't know how to load and we ended up waiting an extra 24 hours for an overflow truck to load. The overflow truck showed up 4+ weeks later to deliver and no on showed on the day to offload, even after I asked a dozen times if there would be a group to help off load. I was assured there would be. No one showed for 3 hours. I was unloading the truck! If there is a problem on the weekend, there is no person to call to help. 3 months after submitting a damage claim, I am still waiting for it to be processed. If this is company is your only choice, move yourself!! read more

Our coordinator, Tara, was wonderful. She set up everything quickly and took care of all of the little details, including getting us extra boxes to begin packing our personal items. She answered all of our questions, always got back to us when we email or left a message and was always gracious. She was an excellent front person for customer service because of her knowledge and demeanor. Our van driver and on site supervisor was Lee and he was outstanding. He was courteous, competent and polished. He organized everything, moved things along quickly and handled all of the move expertly. He was the consummate professional with an impressive work ethic. The gentlemen who packed and moved all the items were Phil, Mark, Troy and Winston. I can only say that I have never seen a more polite, skilled and hardworking crew. They were experienced, efficient and had superior work principles. They even took time to show the kids that they had made sure that some of their special items were packed away. They were all so considerate and kind during a very stressful time and made things that much easier for all of us. I cannot speak more highly of the employees. read more

The worst move we have had out of 17 total moves. We do not recommend using them and have serious reservations about using Atlas Van Lines as well of which Shetler is one of their Owner Agents. They clearly do not care how they handled your furniture and household items as they damaged three claim pages work of items, both boxed and unboxed items. They clearly don't show any integrity as they delivered items clearly mishandled by them without being upfront about it. They clearly don't have good accountability of items as they left a 10 foot long piece of furniture in their warehouse and did not put it on the truck for delivery. Even when notified the day of delivery by both the Driver and us, it is two months later and they have not delivered the item even though they found it in their facility. Communication is not existent with all of it having or originate from us and 90% going to voice mail. read more

Shetler Moving was very communicative and easy to work with. We had them pack our kitchen the day before loading our belongings and both days the teams were punctual and worked hard but efficiently. Becky, our move coordinator, was very helpful especially when we discovered we sent a suitcase to storage with them instead of taking it with us. She was able to pull it and have it shipped to us (we provided the paid shipping label). Our belongings are currently being stored with the company, so no review on delivery yet. read more

Literally the most incompetent moving company imaginable. We dealt with Stephanie who was unpleasant and unhelpful. She failed to notify us that Atlas would not meet the agreed upon delivery window. I called the day before the last day of the window, and at that time she said our items were still at the destination. We could understand our things being late, but it is unacceptable for the agent to not update us--it would have been obvious to anyone paying attention that items still at the origin are at best days away from delivery. When I expressed my displeasure she was indifferent and deflected any and all responsibility to the larger, nebulous, Atlas organization. When our items finally arrived, 2 weeks late, many items were damaged, hardware was missing from our nicest furniture, and boxes were missing. At this point we still have heard nothing about our claim. I am not sure I have ever written a negative review online so please, please listen. Never use Shetler Moving and Storage, and never use Atlas. read more

Worst moving company ever! My husbands work we have moved 4 times and this time with this company we have more damage than not. We have a huge claim that they are dragging their feet on. I notified them of how poor of a job their driver and workers did while they were loading. They never wrapped our leather furniture they put pictures and TVs and ceramics in wardrobe boxes. It was a nightmare. All they can say is we're sorry the guy got fired and we are still reviewing the claim. With pictures and them seeing the load upon arrival they should just do what's right! I feel certain my husbands company will seek other relocation company. It took them a few day to destroy our stuff but want us to be inconvenienced for the 120 days they say they have to complete claim. Not right at all we gotta set our home up with TVs couches beds etc. hoping we will get money back. Like the expenses are not great enough moving across the United States. For the price they got paid for our move they could have given us the money we could have moved and bout a house with what they got paid. read more
