If you care about your family, your sanity or your wallet stay far away from this company. AmeriGas Propane has abandoned my family. I have spent several hours on for the last 6 days being lied to by this pathetic excuse for a company that my propane delivery was coming "the next day," after I paid $300 for an emergency delivery 6 days ago. AmeriGas took my money and left us in the cold. I have a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old and NO PROPANE to heat our house. AmeriGas Propane does not care that they are putting my children in danger. We are in a Life-Safety Emergency, forced to run 4 high-wattage space heaters just to survive and keep the pipes from freezing, creating a massive fire hazard. We realized we were out of propane and tried to use AmeriGas's emergency number. WHAT A JOKE! We left a message and when we got through they said they wouldn't be able to get to us until the 6th at the earliest! WTF?! Spoke with a representative this morning who confirmed the 6th was the earliest they could deliver but it may be as late as the 9th! Totally unacceptable and they were going to charge us a$300 emergency fee to boot! Calling other vendors so we can cancel our contract with AmeriGas and find a new one. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE WORSE COMPANY They take your money and promise a delivery date. Delivery never comes. When you call in the people follow a script that they can't deviate from. When asked to speak to a supervisor you get put on hold then it goes to a survey. Promises to get called back but it NEVER HAPPENS. Scammers in every sense of the word. Unresponsive to us unless they want money from you. We went without propane multiple times because they just wouldn't show up to deliver. We switched companies and had to call multiple times to have their tank removed from our property. Customer service rep stated there would be NO CHARGE now they are trying to charge us a pick up fee? Their tank sat in my yard for over a month with them refusing to pick it up until we said we would deliver it back to them. They now keep sending us bills for a pick up fee. Look at the other reviews before you consider using amerigas unless you want the headache of constantly being hounded for money they are not entitled to. read more

This company is THE worst! If I could give them 0 stars, I would. When it came for renewal, I shopped around. We already had their tanks (leased). While not the best quote, it wasn't worth the hassle of switching out tanks to go w/ another company. However, when I received the bill, it was more than $1 per gallon than the quote. Thank goodness, I documented the dates and with whom I spoke. The district manager, David, initally refused to honor the quote. (Which I would say is unethical.) It took me SIX calls to finally get them to agree to their commitment. (I'm still waiting on the revised bill.)In the meantime, they have sent me a past due notice of $27! (And this is while the ball was in their court to call me back.) Fast forward a couple of weeks and our gas goes out. Granted it is not our primary fuel for heat but it does run both of our fireplaces. Their repair guy can't get to our house for SEVEN days. We went round and round with them. The coordinator was going to see what she could do and call us back. It's now been 3 days with no return call. It is beyond my comprehension on how this company is so poorly run. They never return calls, do not honor their commitments and have exceptionally poor turnaround. read more

Called Customer Service on a Thurs morning given multiple failures on delivery over the past 6 weeks. After navigating their terrible automated phone system, spoke to rep who promised 24h delivery (tanks were at 3%, with a big Christmas party set for the weekend). No delivery made. Luckily didn't run out of gas, but just called again this Monday morning with 1% left and guess what?...no order in the system! I'm working on finding a new vendor ASAP. read more

The girl on the phone was calm but she didn't care I will be without heat for days because they shut off my propane because it was empty... I understand that is a safety precaution but call someone and let them know before doing so...... also charging a ridiculous amount to come back out days later leaving me without heat is ridiculous.... if you are going to charge that it should be someone coming out immediately read more

Service is very poor. If you call because you're out of cooking propane, expect to wait 5-7 days for delivery. Not acceptable!

What a bunch of shysters! When you lease a propane tank from them you are obligated to purchase the propane from them. That's all good. But not when they charge you $4.50 when the market average is $3.08! We were on "auto-fill" where they schedule your fills according to temperature and usage formulas. Came home to a fill-ticket in the door and could not believe the price. Called three other propane companies to find what they were charging. For "will-call" prices, which are typically higher than "auto-fill" - they were only charging $3.00 to $3.15. We called and complained and they said "Oh, yeah. You were overcharged," and reduced the bill. No apology or explanation. How many others were overcharged and didn't contest it? We took them off of auto-fill so we could call them and verify pricing before the next delivery. Well we were idiots by letting the tank run out on December 24. Our bad - we accept responsibility, but when can we get a delivery? January 8. Really? I know the holidays are busy, but two weeks? You know we have no propane (no heat, hot water, dryer or oven/stove). Oh, well for a $150 emergency fee, we can get it there in two days. Great and No Thank You. Aero Fuel had a new tank installed for us by then, (which we bought for a great price and they installed it too), and filled it for us for a promo rate of $1.49/gallon and are locked in at $1.89 cap for six months. We've called Amerigas and told them to come pick up their tank. It's still sitting there after several weeks. STAY AWAY FROM AMERIGAS! THEY WILL SCREW YOU! And if you are sorry enough to be locked into a contract with them - CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS AND COMPARE TO MARKET PRICES! read more

Amerigas is charging a tank rental fee of over $100.00. The initial reason I chose them was because they didn't have a rental fee. They didn't give any notice about this new policy. For a utility to blindside their customers like that is abusive. read more

Worst propane company ever! Doubles the price after 1st year ( I was being charged close to $4) and charges $90 to empty tanks (and don't give a credit) and $60 to remove tanks! I also had to buy a spare tank for when they couldn't fill my tanks (twice) and I ran out. This was when I called at 20% and they couldn't come for 2 weeks. Why take new customers when you can't even handle the ones you have? Being a business owner, I'm not one to complain, this is my first and more than likely last bad yelp review. read more

People complaining about tank rentals fail to understand that all propane companies charge these fees. It is always better to own your own tank and fill the tank during off peak demand periods if possible. They have been good at getting me fuel in 'Podunk', PA. I have only had one missed delivery in 5 years during one rather brutal winter but they worked diligently to provide adequate fuel in the short term once road access was available. You (the customer) need to monitor your tank level so it does not run empty. Amerigas in White Hall is not a 1 star company as the previous reviewers and (uneducated in propane usage) suggest. I used to be like them and switched to them after a large regional supplier 'burned' me. Understand the terms of any agreement you enter into when you do not own your own tank(s). read more

AmeriGas has served us well over the years. They have been on time with deliveries and have well trained delivery personnel.

Amerigas are a bunch of lying cheating sons of guns and the white hall, md location have been playing games and giving us the run around in addition. We had a contract and budget billing that ended may 2016. While under contract we were on scheduled delivery every month but they never came when they were scheduled and they let our tanks run dry twice.Then they jacked up the price for the new contract year. So we told them we were not renewing. Then they came and filled out tanks without our permission after ur contract was up which gave us 2 full tanks in the summer which we would not need until October and which we would have gotten forma different supplier. Even with this illegal (un authorized)l fill-up that they did after our contract ended, we still had an approx $400 or more credit. They said they would refund it. They never sent the check. Over a month later we called and suddenly they said they deducted some kind of new tank charge which we were never informed about. so they duped us for over $100 of our refund. Weeks later still no refund check. we had stopped auto pay online in may and they changed it back to auto deduct without our permission. now they just charged us more money for some bogus transaction and took it out of our bank acct without our authorization. Next call will not be a kind one. We expect all of our money to be returned in full or the next step will be a formal complaint filed with the attorney general for consumer affairs.. Don't use amerigas they are the worst company we have EVER given business to. They should be heavily investigated for fraud. read more
