Worst company EVER. They have deceptive billing practices, they over charge, they do not come when the say they will

I was an Amerigas propane tank customer. In my case it is a 5 gallon tank for a BBQ. The Amerigas machine takes a credit card and opens a door for your old tank and then open a second door to give you a new tank. Sounds good but it doesn't work, and there is no one to help. In my case the new tank had a bad value. I paid $20+ for the exchange, got a defective tank and no help. I called the phone number on the machine they display. Gave some information and then got disconnected. The store manager said they are a total pain. Often the door for the new tank opens and the slot is empty. Your tank is gone and there is no replacement. When elsewhere for a bluerino tank and all is well. So long Amerigas. read more

Horrible horrible horrible. I put an order on Feb 3rd. I paid it I'm full. Delivery was promised no later then Feb 10th. Feb 15th and no delivery yet so I paid to get the expedited 1 day delivery and still nothing. We ran completely out of propane on Feb 19th. I did the online chat and they basically told me whatever I wanted to hear. So I called and got the same response. We are now on Feb 27th and still no propane. It's 42 degrees in my house and we are unable to use the stove , water heater, heater or the clothes dryer. I have kids , it's supposed to snow again. This is ridiculous. read more

Ignored completely when I contact online, juggled from customer service to customer service agent when I call, then resolution center pretends not to hear me but pauses and stutters when I speak which implies otherwise. Neither of the other agents had any issue hearing me and there were no technical difficulties on my end. Pretending not to hear upset customers and hanging up on them is the worst possible customer service. When you are expedited to resolution it means there is already a problem, this made it much worse. Pretending not to hear to avoid angry customers and lower call volume is asinine. read more

They are higher price then other companies. I canceled them and still was recieving bills 2 years later. Called over and over and was told my account would be closed an they continuously kept it open. read more

As of yesterday July the 19th we were told the earliest they could come unlock the tank was august 11th . Repeated phone calls have lead me to no answer . I've called and tried to resolve the issue to no success they want to get you into a contract and then charge your for the propane that's already in the tank . We just bought the house and my two little girls can't take a shower because they are understaffed and over paid . I even recommended I could cut the lock off as I'm already being processed for the propane in the tank so we can cook or shower and was told this was I'll advised we hav no options at the moment. I can't understand how even in a small community a corporation holds residents at random . I would seek other means of fuel for your home . Thank you America's for cold showers and microwaved meals . We have been out of propane for 4 days now. We ordered some 9 days ago thru their website within their guidelines and ran out a week later ( temps in the 20's and high winds depleted tank faster than usual). I called on Tuesday morning for an emergency delivery and they refused saying we couldn't have two orders in the system. Asked to speak to supervisor, waited another 1/2 hour on the phone and someone picked up and hung up. We have called daily, waiting 30 minutes each time. Today we were told they were in route to deliver (at 10 and 4) No one showed up. We were here all day in a freezing cold house waiting. Our house is in escrow or we would switch NOW. Right now they don't even deserve one star in my book. read more

Consumers beware. I had a leak on my tank coming from the bleeder valve. I tightened it and let them know that it had been leaking. They said they would send a tech out. I told them that the tech needs to call me so I could show him what happened. I did not recieve a call, but instead the tech had disconnected and drained my tank. Then tampered with my regulator to make it as if the leak was on my end so they could charge me an extra $178 for a new regulator. The tech did not leave a note or any explanation. I was left with no gas for hot water or cooking. The regulator did not need to be replaced because the tech had loosened screws on the regulator. I fixed what he did. After I got the run around from this company, I was told the managed would call me. Turns out there is no manager at that location. I was told that the district manager would call. Still have heard nothing. read more

I would not even dignify the company with a star. They changed their policy regarding will call tank fill from customer choice to required 95% of tank capacity. In my case is 120 gallons at $4.31/gal or close to $510. This is a new policy that the supervisor states have been in effect since the start of her employment "many years ago." Closed my account in October because they didn't refill my tank as scheduled. The new company put the tank outside my property and I have contacted Amerigaas 9 times via email and telephone calls. Two promises with dates for pick up, but they never came out. Their notes don't reflect all my contacts, emails never replied to. They claim they've contacted me and told me it would be 6-8 weeks, but I was never contacted. Customer service is nonexistent. Now I have a toxic tank sitting in front of my property that has been there for over 4 months with no indication it will ever get picked up. read more

I bought my house & it has a amerigas tank, I called them about a month ago to pick up their tank, well its still sitting in my driveway, so I called again today & I couldn't get a straight answer out of the guy, instead of just saying we'll be there to pick it up he tried to talk to me like a used car salesman giving me the run around, buyer beware, stay away from these shysters, I never had a contract, or anything in writing that I would use their service, im going to charge them for storing their tank................ read more

Since the California Public Utilities Commission refuses to regulate propane suppliers, they're free to take whatever liberties they wish with their "captive audience" customers. While all propane burns the same, shop wisely by knowing these snakes and watching for the clever tricks they'll use to separate you from your hard-earned money. "The Contract Agreement Rip-off" Call AmeriGas for price for a one-time fill-up and these predators will quote you a price far below that of their competition. Great, you think. There is no mention of the fake taxes, 'surcharges' and other garbage fees which no other company charges. (Under California law, heating fuel for home use is not taxable.) The problems start when they arrive to fill your tank. They hand you a multi-page, 3-year contract agreement to sign. You're told "it doesn't matter, it's just a formality for your one-time fill-up". But buried deep in the hard-to-read, microscopic, faded gray print, you are agreeing to a three-year contract for AmeriGas to come out every month, and you agree to pay whatever price AmeriGas wishes to charge. In that same agreement, you also agree not to use any other propane supplier for three years, or else you will pay AmeriGas a hefty penalty. If you object, the driver will get angry, grab his contract papers and leave. In no event will they deliver any propane for the price they just quoted you over the phone. And if you live in a trailer park whose management has been hoodwinked into a permanent contract with AmeriGas, the rates will be even higher. Watch for the disappearance of Blue Flame and Atchison, as they are absorbed by AmeriGas' monopoly of propane service in the Kern River Valley. read more

Amerigas.........is full of gas! If I could have given them 0 stars they would have received -0. Three weeks I have waited for them to show up. They claim the truck is only in our "area" once a week......well, that's three "appointments" they have ignored. No phone call, no text, no nothing! Each time I contact them it's same ol song and dance, we're short handed, we had truck problems, the driver forgot. Mind you, they're 18 miles from our home! It appears to me that there's an opportunity for a propane distributorship in Lake Isabella! read more

If you enjoy paying too much for a utility then this place is for you! If you love it when a company nickles and dimes you, then look no further. Between the $200 deposit that you dont get back until you leave the company (and even then its not guaranteed... keep reading) to the overpriced propane, all the way down to the ridiculous tank rentals then look no further. I was with them for only a short time, but quickly realized that since I did not enjoy those things, I needed to go elsewhere. Instead, They were charging for a tank rental, but when a new tank was needed to be brought in, they wouldn't come collect theirs and even kept charging for the rental. Even though we told them to come get it quite a few times. It wasn't until I threatened to charge them for storage space that they came and got it. I was expecting a deposit back, but they felt that they needed it more than I did and argued with me having their tank for too long, that I didn't deserve to get my money back. This place sucks.
