We have always had a quarterly payment schedule with Amerigas and the girls in our local Cedar City office were so pleasant. Now.....the only person you can talk to is in another country and they canceled our quarterly billing without notifying us and sent us to collections. UNACCEPTABLE. Rude, incompetent, thieving and weirdly sadistic. Not even worth the effort to relay my half years worth of anguish trying to end the service at the since sold home of my deceased father. If I could give zero stars, well, we've all written that in a yelp review. So I bequeath the 1 star to the DRIVER who was kind, and just doing his job. The company, deserves -10. We purchased a home with a tank onsite. Knew nothing about propane, called them up - they got me an account and filled our tank in the $500 range. I spoke with the local CSR who told me that I could make payments all year. I asked if I could pay this 500+ in payments until I got caught up and then start doing a yearly. "Yes" she said, "but WOW watch out for those late payments". In one discussion we are making payment arrangements, and also being warned how horrible this will be for me. So I started making payments. We blew thru the original fill of propane and had to add more, and more $ to the debt. But I continued to make the payments. Every month. Then the letter came, "we are shutting off your account until you pay in full". Gee, I thought I had made payment arrangements. Then the credit letter came. "We are taking you to collections". So I called their competition (if you can use that word, because their competition BLOWS them away, this is NO competition). What I learned from chatting with the new company, is that Amerigas not only has this kind of business practice (preying, threatening, left doesn't speak to right), but they PREY UPON THE ELDERLY. I heard a few horror stories about how they treat their elderly customers. Makes me think these people are not just bad business, they are evil. So I recommend, if you are buying a home in the CC area, there is another company doing the same thing out there. Starts with a B. Have your seller remove the Americrap tank off the property as part of your purchase agreement. There is a reason you can find 100's of these stories just by googling Amerigas complaints. Before you try Amerigas and make a mistake I did call customer service see how long it takes to get through I've been waiting for a response and have called them many times and been put on hold for hours and no one ever picked up to answer my question and no call back. I finally called Blackburn in Cedar city and have them switch my service since I've had no problems with Propane. I have been waiting to get a refund for the 250 gallons left in the tank which he now tell me they will not do. AmeriGas will lie to you and over charge and never refund your money. Before you cancel service make sure your tank is empty because they will not refund you for your propane. Use anyone but Amerigas in cedar city ,UT read more

Amerigas is quick to take their payment. In my case it was incorrect by over 1,000. I even called the office to let them know the bill is incorrect. The girl told me that it was a mistake and they would correct and not to worry. I told her I have automatic payment but she insured me she would fix the calculation error. How it got to be an error in the first place is a mystery. WELL, within a week, $1,848 was taken out of our checking account. It was Memorial Day weekend and we were out of town. All our money was gone. When I called to complain and get an immediate resolution I was told that they would correct it. They then rebilled us for the correct amount of $838.00, took it out of the credit we had of $1,848 but its been over a month and we still have not received the credit back for the difference. $1,010.00. WOW. When I called they could not give me an exact date this would be credited back 3 weeks ago. I am calling again today. YIKES......Beware consumer of your account, bills and customer service. read more

I am 42 years old, and I have NEVER in my life dealt with such a dishonest company. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. One person tells you one thing, and the next person tells you the opposite. They have no idea what they're doing. Several months ago we called and asked what the current price per gallon was, so that we could prepare ourselves financially for having it partially filled in a few weeks. They quoted us a price. Next thing we know, there's a bill in the mail for $800ish dollars. The house is for sale and vacant, so we weren't there to see them deliver the propane. WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION and WITHOUT OUR REQUEST, they came on our property and filled the tank entirely, which we would have never done, as the house is for sale and vacant. Not only that, but the price per gallon wasn't even what they had quoted on the phone. They finally agreed to lower the price, and we had to pay for the full tank. During the next few months, thieves came and pumped the tank to entirely empty. The house in a rural location and there has been a problem with thieves in the area stealing gas, farm equipment, and anything they can get their hands on. We filed a report with the Sheriff's Office and put a lock on our main entrance gate. Amerigas came out to test the tank and make sure there wasn't a leak and there wasn't one. Amerigas offered to give 100 gallons for free, because the tank would not have been full, had it not been for their original error. The woman on the phone expressly told me that, plus the driver said he was giving us the propane for free, plus we called back in and confirmed it after the driver had driven away. And now we get a bill for the "free" propane. Amazing. And to top it off the woman was incredibly rude about it when I called to straighten it out. They said, pay the money, or we come to take the tank. You do NOT want to deal with this company. They're a nightmare. Give the other propane company in town a call. They must have built up their client base quite a bit with all of the errors this company makes. read more
