Over the last few years we've had a couple roofing companies knock on our door telling us they could get our roof replaced using our existing insurance. And each time, they were not able to get the claim to go through. So when mountain home remodeling came, I expected a similar result. The salesman that we worked with was very friendly and seemingly knowledgeable. After some inspections and back and forth with our insurance company, it turned out that our claim was approved. We were prepared to move forward, but hesitated because we noticed that mountain home remodeling had next to no online presence. They had two one star Yelp reviews in Maryland, an account in home advisor that home advisor explicitly stated they did not recommend the company (along with a handful of old mostly positive reviews) and their website listed Maryland as their location yet their paperwork to us showed a cedar city address. Something didn't seem right. We expressed our concern and were promptly contacted by the owner. He provided contact information for some clients in Utah that he had done work for. I got in touch with a couple and they had good things to say. We decided to give them a shot, and the job pretty much went without a hitch. The company reached out to us for a free roof inspection. They found there was roofing missing from the ridge of our home. They insisted this would require a full roof replacement. Our insurance company denied their request several times and approved a repair. When the owner, Keith, came to look at the roof personally he seemed brash. I eventually, decided to get another opinion from another roofing company. The other company did say that most roofs would need a full replacement but that mine would be unlikely to qualify. They came and fixed our roof within a few days and saved us a lot of headache. I get the sense that this company will only do a roof replacement (no patches) and they are not honest. I wish I had known that it would not had qualify for a replacement as it probably wouldn't have been worth filing with the insurance company in the first place (there's a 1K deductible). Save yourself some trouble and go with a reputable company in the area. read more
